  1. The only people who would know that are the directors of the Club, it will be interesting to see what their review reveals and the solutions that they come up with.

Im sure their are people who know more than others. What matters is the extent they are willing/able to share what they know.

  2. Fair enough that is your opinion. I'm sure I don't need to tell you the reasons behing WWI and WWII and why we were doing this. In addition, there have been several wars since which the political reasons behind have been suspect, personally I don't agree with the Iraq war. However, I respect the ordinary men and women who put their lives on the line to do I job i wouldn't have the bottle to do. For me, the poppy isn't glorify war it is a dignified method of respect.

Anyway my point wasn't to spark a debate on war, that is for the general forum. I was just highlighting some of the bizarre goins on at OF clubs. Whatever your political opinions, it has nothing to do with football.

I think plitics and football can mix. Also if the topic and all that pertains to it isnt suitable for this area then maybe you should have posted it in the general forum. You cant say this is bizarre and these people are scum for expressing this, but as soon as someone says they might not be hide behind the'general forum for controversey' line.

  3. I understand this, however I don't remember any banners at a football ground which showed such a total lack of respect to those who died fighting for our country. Which political cause is this football club exactly supporting, especially with Dr John Reid on the board? This isn't to do with politics, its an example of the one of the OF taking this nonsense to far.

What nonsense? Im sure there are clubs that express far more reprehensible sentiments than these.

'died fighting for ur country'. did they really? whos country? why? from who? Lots of questions, lots of legitimat positions to take and possible answers to give.

  4. Im not one bit surprised. There just vermin scum.

To be fair i dont think its justifiable to call people 'vermin scum' because they dont hold similar views to you on the wearing of a poppy. Can you not accept that some people in the world disagree with you without thinkng those who do are less than you?

  5. Banner at Parkhead today

I understand that many people on this forum couldn't care less about the OF and the actions of their supporters. However, this picture sums up to me the nonsense that surrounds a certain element of football supporters in Glasgow.

Fans supporting a political cause isnt a phenomenon particular to glasgow, nor old firm fans.

  6. dont worry you cant be wrong all the time, well maybe.

he felt he was right to in the circumstances his call, if people had been more grown up and not started giving out greif then this would not have happened.

Perhaps grow up and realise swearing wont harm wee girls?

  7. tell you what, you go up to someone (the bigger the better, or even a police man)tonight and call him a rent boy and see how you get on :thumbsup2:

i wait with interest for the morning papers to hear the outcome. ;)

This forum has a no swearing policy that is quite strictly enforced. Rent boy seems to be acceptable

  8. i will agree with that bit(the 50), i did hear abuse (scum and the likes)getting shouted later but didnt see who it was towards, still dosnt mean it didnt happen (minus the 50 perhaps)

bloody hell ThistleMad, with the way you were going on i thought you were there!!! you must be right then??

Just filled with a righteous urge for justice.....which may have been misplaced lol who knew??!?!

Even if the reaction was bad, getting the steward for 'rentboygate' is still a bit ott

  9. Biased? Why would he be biased? To make Thistle fans look worse than they really are? I know lennythistle, he loves this Club as much as the next Jags fan and a slur on the fans is a slur on him also. I don't get that one.

As for listening to other fans who were there, I have done and have also spoken to others who were there. I drew my conclusions based on that not on some gut feeling I have got from reading this thread. I hoped lenny would have come on and said he had misunderstood and that he could now see that the abuse may have been directed at the steward(s)...but he didn't and I aint gona call him a liar.

    Well i......might

  10. I think this might have been a misunderstanding, with at least the vast majority shouting at the linesman

which i am sure Lenythistle knew quite well....i think he willfully misunderstod to tar histle fans who only wanted to watch the football without being harrassed

  11. this one (the woman) wasnt, she asked him not to do it, he said no probs the other guy could not keep quiet.

why?? HE hasnt done anything wrong, why should he (and his kids) move????

there is a difference(as has been pointed out) between shouting, whats the **** was that, when they make a hash of somthing and just swearing for the sake of swearingthat is just abusieve.

As far as i can tell the guy caled the linesman a rent boy....big deal

  12. fixed it for you.

'....so its probably best wake up and realsie that the football is a heated environment that maybe isnt suitable for your children IF (and i want to stress IF) you want to bring your children up in a world were they never hear swearing
