Storey was good. With him and Sammon there finally are decent attacking alternatives to Doolan. Bannigan to start on Tuesday surely.
Definitely. Need Edwards in there for the energy and Barton seems to do better against smaller teams so Banzo should be brought in.
-
So happy tonight just wish we'd held on but we go into Tuesday with confidence.
-
We can win this... but sadly I don't think we will We need to start with a back 3 to get Barton out of midfield and back to his best position. Sammon on the wing has to stop, we should start with.
Cerny (if unfit, Sneddon)
Keown Barton Turnbull
McGinn Edwards Bannigan Elliott
Spittal Doolan Erskine

Doesn't Firhill look lovely from the Bing ... now if only we could have the cash to pour some concrete and erect some barriers ...
Don't forget the seats! We're not Hearts
-
Be interesting if Archie puts out a defensive line up or have a right go at them.
Think we'll have a go.
-
Is there any truth in the rumours we've signed someone who can't actually play until January?
Source?
-
Lots of clubs do this such as Hamilton (superseal). Do they get any stick? No. As others said we will still know it as firhill and it's just extra money for nothing
Your right we probably won't get any stick I just don't like it personally. If I was Maxi I would've rather kept Firhill as our name than have the money.

I feel terrible saying this biput it'll be another 1-2 scummy *** win.
-
Jeezuz! Are the big boys calling you names diddums?
No I'm just saying it's not that good a name. It could be worse we could have the YourRadio103FM Stadium
-
Maybe we're just as fit as everyone else, but work much harder, therefore running out of steam before the end of the game. The management team must be applauded for inspiring such commitment.
Feel like we would concede a lot less in the last 10 if we would bring more than one sub on for example we could bring Devine on to stiffen up the defence or Edwards to add energy to the midfield.
-
No problems here.
-
Embarrassing to allow them to change the name. We are going to get slagged to f**k off of other fans.
-
I'm guessing but the signing of McGinn is seen as a more attacking option from full back with Nitriansky more as a utility defender. So I reckon McGinn and Elliott are seen as the full back pairing in the short term at least. If Milan starts I'd put that down to match fitness issues.
More than likely Devine will come in as a straight replacement. The only way Barton will go to centreback will be in either an injury crisis or the centre of a back three. Archie will only play three centrebacks if tactics warrant a change, not simply to suit Barton. Gotta feeling that Spittal will be a big player for us this season and he's unlikely to start in a 3-5-2. He's simply not got the pace to play wingback.
I'm hoping for a 3-4-3 with Cerny in goal(obviously), a back three of Devine, Barton and Turnbull, Nitriansky and Elliott at wing back as I don't think McGinn will be match fit yet, Banzo and Abdul as the two centre mids and a front three of Erskine, Doolan and Spittal.

Eh, why are having a poll? Please someone just start a match thread.
I'll take it away, I think it's fairly obvious what the result of the polls going to be.
-
A poll on who'll win a Thistle game on s Thistle website? I'd like to think we might get a majority for the Jags here.
You'll get the pessimists though, need to let them express their opinion. I mean we already have two 'County Win' votes. Most people on here will go for a Jags win, I think...
-
Think we need to win this to try and get our season up and running as the longer we go without winning the more it'll affect the team's confidence. I'll excuse the first four games as the only game I was expecting a point off of was St Johnstone, we've been playing well now we just need to turn it into points.
-
I'm pretty sure they've had recent financial trouble also if he's knocked back Fiorentina, Athletic Bilbao and Inter in recent months he might just not fancy it...
On a slightly tenuous link. Someone should by Corby Town get them up through the leagues, rebrand as Thistle then when they reach the Premier League we move them to Firhill and watch all the money and fame rain in
That's... interesting. Where'd you think of that?

Mulgrew is crap,Brown is done,Snodgrass is unfit and hasn't done much lately in a Scotland shirt and Ritchie is slower than me after Xmas dinner. Hopefully a good shafting to pile pressure on that wee fud Strachan..
Which shows the sad state of our national game that these are some of our best options, personally I'd rather have Matt Phillips or Olly Burke playing ahead of Snodgrass (that lineup wasn't my preferred team it's what I think Strachan will pick), I like Ritchie though gets a few goals for Scotland and he's playing in the Premier League.

That can easily be updated. Tuffey?!
Cerny
Archibald
Lindsay
Paterson
RB
Barton
Rowson
Erskine
Harkins
Hardie
Doolan
Should have never left Hardie out first time round. Bannigan misses out to Rowson. Struggling for right back, very tempted to put Elliott there but think O'Donnell and Lilley should maybe be ahead.
Definitely O'Donnell for me

Predictions? Teams?
Personally I would go for
Gordon
Tierney Martin Mulgrew Robertson
Broony Morrison
Snoddy Armstrong Ritchie
Griff

Glad I read this topic. I hadn't realised that the season is in fact over for us and we're heading for the drop. Ok, let's clear out the management team now, appoint a journeyman with no record to speak of, go part time with immediate effect, release all those whose contracts run beyond Hogmanay and prepare for life in the Championship, immediately followed by Div One.
We're completely doomed...apparently.
Or..............
We should just give up now

If you listen to Archie after the match.....
Our defending was poor
So was Aberdeen's, it was an end to end game that we were unlucky to lose and I for one am very proud of our performance yesterday. If you put it into perspective Aberdeen are unbeaten so far this season apart from the Apollon game, top of the league and an improved team from last year and we went head to head with them. This is the usual annual panic season for Thistle but if we can play like that every week and stiffen up the defence a bit a win is forthcoming!

Did Madden really high five and hug Scott Wright? That is doing the rounds on twitter?
Link?

Get your point about more pace needed in midfield but you would select Doolan to play in front of Spittal, Erskine & Lawless. Pace needed in attack and that's a rather slow attacking four.
He's Kris Doolan though.
Tuesday Night.

I went last night but on Tuesday I was going to go to my cousin's birthday meal but I might have to ask her to postpone until Wednesday!
