  1. Looking at the defensive record since Dools took over, I think him being a striker of immense quality, he knows how to stop a team scoring. The defense has had to chop and change due to injuries but still deliver. I think this gives midfield and forwards freedom to do what happened in the second half tonight.

  2. The PTFC Trust response is laughable.

'on behalf of around 300 of their members who they also believe to be beneficiaries of the PTFC Trust' - are they not believing the season ticket holders are season ticket holders?

Disappointed that 'one fan organisation should choose to send a lawyers letter to another'. One fan organisation that has been open, transparent, held elections, have fans paying to be members compared to another that has been silent for years, have beneficiaries by default, no democratic way of electing Trustees and no response to the real questions....

    Surprised - not really.

  3. On the Ayr website highlights - Reading (Ayr No 3) gets booked at about 2m30s in. If it was a booking it should have been a sending off - tackle with both feet off the ground, not in control and at pace and the ref was close to it. Also the one where Jakubiak takes it into the box, past the defender and the ball is on the line the ref gives a goal kick (eventually) but from where he was there is no way he could say the whole of the ball had crossed the line. Thought he was unfit, behind the play most of the night.

  4. My dad was born in 1932 in Maryhill and followed the Jags all his years till he passed away in 2018. He obviously missed the 1921 Scottish Cup triumph and then came the 23rd October 1971. I had started going to see the Jags in 1970 as a 6 year old so to reach a national cup final within a year was something else - apart from the something else. We stayed in Hotspur Street but made plans to move to Cumbernauld and the moving date - 23rd October 1971. The one national cup final during my dads life and we were moving house!!! On a Saturday as well. Only positive was our new neighbours on both sides were Celtic daft. Interesting introduction  with the local kids following the obligatory 'what team do you support?' question.

  5. 1 hour ago, Auld Jag said:

League 1 and league 2 clubs, have been asked by the SPFL to indicate when they will be able to start playing. Or will they not be able to play at all next season. A meeting of all clubs in these leagues is planned for this Monday, and all clubs must reply by 26th June.

This is all hypothetical. So if 5 from current league 1 say they can - Thistle, Falkirk and say for arguments sake Cove, Peterhead and Montrose along with 5 from league 2 - Queens Park and say Elgin, Edinburgh, Annan and Stenny giving a very convenient league of 10 and we play for 20/21 with Thistle top, Queens Park 2nd etc Cove 9th, Montrose 10th. So in any normal world(?) Thistle  go up, Queens Park in play-off final after 3rd/4th teams dealt with, Montrose go down and Cove get a play off shot. Potential for Queens, a league 2 club to play in Championship after 1 season and Cove play......who? Do the 5 in league 1 who can't/won't play all automatically then play in league 2 when they do start again. Or is 20/21 just a pretend league and all back to square 1 for 21/22. What a mess.

  6. So we could have the scenario, based on this season, that after split DU and AU go up to play send half of season with bottom 6 from PL, absolutely bomb and DU end up bottom and  AU lose the playoff and get relegated to the league they were in after 14 games, while ICT 'win' post split league, get a trophy and Dungdee win playoff and go up after having the benefit of playing arguably 2 weaker teams after the top 2 leave the set-up. Sporting integrity...…..

  7. Couple of points nagging me.

Were Livvy the club referred to in the club statement last week? If so then Chris moving today is the natural conclusion of that.

If not, did the statement alert them to his availability and add Livvy to a list of other club managers (ok maybe a short list of 2) that feel he is good enough for their squads.

I thought 2018 was as bad as it could get for a Jags fan but 15 days in and this is beginning to make 2018 look like the Wonder Years......

  8. Another thought - what if the Morton player had kicked it up the pitch instead of out, say near the half way line and the ball stays in play. Thistle players all at the JH stand ' celebrating' nearly scoring, ref doesn't stop game, Morton players realise ball is live and stroll up and score. That would have easily resulted in at least Erskine getting set off along with potential others as all hell breaks loose.
