I don't really see anything wrong with the club speaking to Neilson whislt there is still an active deadline for applications. They may decide that they want to speak to the applicants as and when they apply to try and speed up the process, but hold off on an actual decision until they have spoken to all the applicants.
Neilson confirmed as United manager. Says on BBC he did speak to Thistle, though.

I notice Jim McIntyre is now 1/2 favourite to be our new manager, odds have dropped overnight

Spent 5 years with Bolton.

Football Agent @agent37654 29m
#PartickThistle are in talks with #APOEL in relation to a loan deal for Cillian Sheridan
Probably rubbish tbh.
Read the other Tweets the guy has written, including, Aberdeen inquiring about Landry N'Guemo; This is clearly nonsense.
I have it on decent authority that Polish Centre back, Jaroslaw Fojut (Previously of Bolton and once linked with Celtic) sat out of Tromso's 0-0 draw at home to Sandefjord last night as Archie has offered him a trial. Tromso played in the Europa League last season but were relegated due to poor league form and it's understood that the board think that his wages are too much for a Norwegian 2nd tier team to be paying.

Also, from that PFA Free Transfer List, Simon Church would definitely be worth a punt, however, probably outwith our means.
-
I see that Rangers were set to offer him a contract in January 2012 following a trial, but that was during their financial difficulties and that put the move off. He has been playing at Wellington Phoenix in the Australian A League and has been getting coached by Jonathan Gould.

Even the name 'Sporting Solutions' is shit.

David Goodwillie is a great signing

Jamie Mitchell, Grant Murray

I didn't mean Willie Gibson specifically. I meant a player of his ilk.

A flair forward/midfielder that does average to OK in a lower division will often excel when playing with better players. A rock steady forward/midfielder but lacking flair that excels in a lower division will usually come up short in a higher division, regardless of the extra quality with which he'll be playing.
From what I've seen of both Gibson and Cardle there's no reason to believe they wouldn't cut it in the SPL except of course if they don't pass the "dressing room test" that Shaggy mentions.
Willie Gibson was good for Kilmarnock in the SPL and managed a £100k move to Crawley.
-
That type of player with that level of ability. But isn't Willie Gibson just the sort of character that wouldn't be "the right type of player for the dressing room"?
I mean, the sort of player that is probably too good for the division they're in and wouldn't cost us too much to take a gamble on them, like Gibson, Swankie etc
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Willie Gibson at the club next season
-
Given the ideal prices of the tickets to watch SPL football, then I think we should push our efforts to try and get students, national and international, to Firhill again.

I am Steve Lovell.

I just remembered him because he was quite chubby, and his blonde hair as well. He was wearing sports gear, well a tracksuit, although not a Thistle one.

Was on Maryhill Road earlier this afternoon and I saw ex Hearts, Morton and Stirling striker, David Witteveen outside the Jaguar Garage looking to cross the road. Wonder if there's any substance to this...

Aye it is. Not getting yourself so much into debt that you have sell places in the first team would have been a better idea.
What's happened has happened, can only try and solve the problem now

They need to raise £100k fast. I don't think this is a bad idea, say there is a millionaire out there willing to help the club but wanting even something as slight as this in return, fair play to them for coming up with this. Also the fact that they're only choosing one person from fit 18-35 year olds suggests it won't be that much of a mockery.

Calvin Zola could well hit double figures, along with a player like Niall McGinn upfront, Aberdeen could easily be looking at second place this year.

Mark Kerr is just typical merry-go-round Scottish player

Hewitt looks more like Oscar Pistorius

Kenny Miller’s fitness for his age is phenomenal. He fits in the same category as Scott McDonald - a top level of footballer that we, as Thistle fans, aren’t accustomed to watching. He will be fine.
