  1. Yes, yet again for the 4th time in recent months we have had another game abandoned.

People are calling for summer football, winter shutdowns, plastic pitches etc.

Lets get a bit of perspective even just for a second. Simple question is ...When have anyone on here ( I'm 48 ) ever know the amount of rain we have had to suffer in the West of Scotland ?

This is unusual in the extreme and as such should be treated as such.

The last thing I wish to see is a shity plastic pitch at Firhill FFS !

If this global warming dictates in our lifetimes this is the norm then yes we have to change.

    El Nino anyone ?

  2. Don't buy into the ref took a bung bullshit but the hose left on accidentily now that is believable !

Totally suited the Jam Tarts to have a wee day off , as others have said it was a sell out regardless. So there is the difference among many others between us & them.

    Cmon the Hibs :clapping:

  3. Amazing the number of differing opinions on this Mediocre Pundit.

I am 48 and have never seen my team win a major trophy ( ok was 4 in 1971 )

I reckon 1921...1971....like may others 2021 could be a big year, but like many others, I believe and hope it will come sooner.

We are on a great track, built over the last 3 managers and in Archie I trust.

It will come, hopefully tomorrow but if not then next year or the one after. As long as the team continues to have SPFL status then we will never be in a stronger position.

  4. Top Six all day long, getting a top six finish will cash wise massively benefit the club and that in turn will mean more money available to Archie to improve the squad.

An improving squad will then greatly improve our chances of not only getting to the cup final but also win it.

  5. I would say he is part of the spine. A very good player.

He won't be on much money. Probably half the supporters will be on a higher wage. He's got a family to support. If there is a wage rise then I'd go if I was him. I'd have went when the Dutch team came in for him couple seasons ago.

With all due respect LLD do you have any idea ?

    a. what money he is on ?

    b. what the supporters typical wage is ?

Proof of anything would be helpful !

  6. To be honest i am not sure we would miss him if he did go, he is ok but not someone who cannot be replaced. For some reason i had it in my mind we would let him go at the end of this season anyway as we strive to improve quality within the squad. I can see why having a backbone of players is important but i would not consider him as part of the teams spine.

Agree pinhead but with a wee bit more o2 in my lungs !

He is in my opinion the typical hot and cold football player, one week a revelation , next a waste of space.

If he goes , better will replace him.

  7. Still left back :thumbsup2:

Important to get him signed up. In fact I feel we're kinda weak in cover as well. Christie and Miller naturally better placed to cover the other flank. Never really had good cover there since McMillan left.

Jordan McMillan now he was a player sadly what a waste though.

  8. That is an utterly dreadful appointment.

We probably have more in common with St. Mirren than we do with any other club in Scotland (in terms of size of club, locality, fanbase etc). And they seem to be exactly where we were exactly 10 years ago - facing the very real prospect of back to back relegations.

It really does show how lucky we are at the moment.

Totally agree Ian, I said the exact same thing to someone yesterday.

Sad to see the decline of what is my 'local team' but feck them come cup day !

  9. Fantastic result.

Wasn't much between teams but thought we grew in to the game, especially in the 2nd half. Great save by Cerny in 1st half to keep it 0-0.

Thought we gave away too many free kicks on edge of box and also let in quite a few crosses, which was a dangerous tactic given the swirling wind, but on the whole defended it well.

Motm for me was Bannigan, he was tremendous from start to finish. Mention for Welsh as well, best I've seen him play all season.

Muirhead wasn't great, thought Amoo offered far more when he came on.

Ref was dreadful, so inconsistent and he was losing control towards the end. Some of the County players discipline out the window near the end as well, especially Irvine's swipe at Lawless.

Great to see us seeing the game out by confidently knocking it about in the corner.

    Well done Jags, Merry Christmas!

Totally agree with your summary of the game.

Welsh I felt played his best game in a long time and should have been motm.

    Excellent team performance all round.

We are getting good at grinding out results long may it continue !

Final word .... Dallas ...fecking horses arse

  10. Ideally I would prefer my central defenders to be centrally defending not chasing down crosses and leaving the keeper exposed !

To be honest DP, I honestly could not say where Daniel was for the goal I just remember thinking WTF is McDonald getting so much time unchallenged to have 2 goes at goal.

My initial question has not been addressed or answered by anyone yet, I am not Seaborne's biggest fan but he wears our shirt and I will always support him. There is no agenda on my part.

  11. Trying to charge down the cross.

Seriously ? How many people successfully charge down crosses into the box WTF ! Keeper was left totally exposed on what looked like the 6 yard line with no defensive cover even after Cerny saved the 1st shot.

  12. Best Thistle player on the park today never lost a header or a tackle all day. Put his body between the player and the goal constantly. Played like a man and didn't shirk his responsibility.

Where was he when Scott McDonald had 2 bites at the cherry for his goal ?
