  1. These videos were produced by the old marketing team at Thistle which has now been dissolved due to the departure of Jim Alexander.

These were to be used in future marketing campaigns but those campaigns will now sadly not go ahead.

Truly gutted to see Jim go as he was a true Thistle fan and always had the best interest of the club at heart. Something which can't be said about others still at the club.

Hope you enjoy these videos and all the best to Jim and everyone else involved in the old marketing team.

  2. Thanks for the comments. We're not looking to replace the Trust and the idea was originally to do this in partnership with the Trust. We just feel that with the current resignations and the "baggage" attached to the Trust we don't know what will happen to it, and we have no choice now but to try and set something up ourselves. We would have done this a while ago but felt that the members who have just left the Trust were making a positive impact and would have rather have worked with them.

We find ourselves in a situation now where the Jags Trust represents a minority of the Thistle support but is the only vehicle to impress any change at the club as a fan. Whatever group is formed we would aim to be representitive of the entire Thistle support so that our opinion actually holds some weight and is truly representitive of what the fans want. The members would choose who the Chairman of the group would be and who (if anyone) would represent them at Club board level.

All decisions/elections would be decided by majority vote. It's the fans that make this club what it is and so it should be the fans that make the important decisions about the club's future. The voting system would be a simple online poll and would be anonymous.

We like the idea of splitting it to keep the shares and fan association separate and this is defo something we would look at.

If we set up a fan association, however, the share scheme, sponsorship fund and the fundraising would all be part of it. We would have free membership to join the association then only if you choose to would you pay money towards fundraising, sponsorship or shares.

The shares scheme was mainly to enable fans to buy shares in PTFC. And we could just leave it at that? The reason we would combine the shares would just be to make our shares a large shareholding and therefore give us some combined influence at board level. This also removes any difficulties with people owning shares when it comes to tax returns etc. We are also big supporters of fan ownership and if that was possible through this scheme then we would look very seriously at it. At the moment we are in discussion with Business Gateway to work out the best way to set up and what all the legalities are. Will check out Supporters Direct and maybe give them an email as well. We are also going to be contacting someone from Stirling Albion to discuss the fan ownership issue.

For the fundraising side of things we would split all money raised from general donations between the Players Budget and running costs. We would also allow people to choose to donate specifically into the players budget, money to the club or towards youth development. We will tie in all the fundraising with this and put on a few special events which will be targeted at raising money for either the players or the youth development.

We aren't saying we have all the answers but we are saying something needs to happen. Ideally we would like to have something up and running in time for the new year. But we want everyone involved, this is for Thistle fans and we want all fans to help in setting it up and running it.

If you think you can help out please just let us know.

  3. Hello,

Just wanted to post an update on this. We've asked the club for a breakdown of share prices but they are understandably busy at the moment, hopefully we will have this information within the next few days though.

We still want to go ahead with this and are currently in discussion with business gateway to find out the best way to go about setting it up. It will basically be a way for all of us to put our money together to buy shares in the club. The shares will be held by the group, not the individual, but we will have an elected member to represent those shares.

The short term aim would be to raise money for the club at a crucial time and buy shares in the club we love as a group of fans. The long term aim of this would be to have complete fan ownership of the club with a fully elected board and chairman etc. All decisions made by our group will be voted on by all members and all board members for the group will be democratically elected by the members to ensure better fan representation.

As well as buying shares we will also be looking at other ways to raise funds for the club and we are currently setting up a fundraising website which will include information on how to raise money for Thistle, template sponsorship forms, event organizers, downloadable materials and much more. The aim is to encourage everyone to do a bit of fundraising and raise some money for Thistle. We also hope to have a few "big" fundraising events, more details to follow though. And also, any ideas you have would be more than welcome.

Hopefully everyone will want to get behind this idea as we really need every Jags fan to get involved if this is going to work. The more fans we get joined up the stronger our voice becomes and the more representitive we become of the wider Thistle support.

If you are interested in getting involved with setting this up please PM us to let us know.

    Cheers

  4. We don't want to comment on the incident as we are not in full possession of the facts but we would just like to wish Lenny, his Dad and especially his daughter all the best and would urge them not to be put off going back to Firhill.

This thread has made me feel ashamed to call myself a Thistle fan.

Bottom line - There in NEVER any excuse for a 10 year old girl to feel so threatened that she has to leave a game of football.

  5. Sometimes when viewing the forum a blank page appears rather than the thread clicked on.

It’s really not a problem for me as I just use Firefox.

Cool, cheers. I will have a look anyway and see if I can fix it.

Should get some time soon to have a proper look over the whole site and sort it all out. Content pages will probs be re-done from scratch aswell to freshen it up a bit but mainly just to get everything working on every browser aswell as sorting out the print css etc.

    Cheers

  6. What browser are you using? I use Google chrome and have noticed a few issues on the forum. Have switched to Firefox for the forum.

Could you please tell me what issues you get? I have noticed a few on IE which i'm going to sort out at the weekend. The forum works best on firefox and safari, but it should be ok on chrome. Although the main issues with IE are on the content pages rather than the forum.

    Cheers

  7. Can you please try CTRL + F5 on any pages you have get issues on, just incase there is a caching issue.

Also, please try deleting your board cookies by clicking on the link at the bottom of the website.

Let me know if you are still having issues though and I will have a look.

    Cheers

  8. A couple of Club directors offered to come to the meeting, but I took the view that it wasn't the right time. Important that we had an open and frank discussion away from Firhill to allow folk to clear the air.

My hope is to take those directors up on their offer for one of the next meetings. Whether or not that actually comes to pass will depend on a number of factors, including availability and the nature of the proposed discussion. But for now, I am comforted that the offer was made in good faith and declined on the same basis.

Thanks very much for the response. I just think that having a board member there would have allowed the fan rep/non exec position to be resolved and we could also hear what the club are doing at the moment and in the near future.

Glad to hear that the club are offering to get involed with the fans though, and a good sign for the future. Hopefully they will be in attendance at a future meeting, that all fans are invited to. Thanks again for organising these.

    Cheers

  9. Thanks to the Trust for organising this meeting and for doing the online stream. Thought the meeting was very interesting but disappointed that nobody from the club board made an appearance. Do you know if there is a reason for this? Just that the club made announcements about being more involved with the fans and this was an ideal time to have someone from the board speak to the fans and let us know what their intentions are?

    Cheers

  10. All i said was the stenny fan was an eejit its hardly abuse ffs ! I got called a moron and a troll and i don't see you doing anything about that, is that not abuse or are we going down the black/white rule of thumb ?

All we said was make your point without insulting people.

Yer wastin' yer time wae that lot, pal. They think it's the Glasgow Academy Philosophical Debating Society in disguise.

As you know, some people are (rightly) allowed to express themselves in whatever way they choose. Others get shafted. It's unpredictably selective. Almost like bullying, innit? Weird.

Advertisers come first. It's not actually a fitba forum, as such.

They're smart-arsed control freaks. They've no other power or influence in life and have to exert it on here. No doubt, I'll get a bollocking, or worse, for this.

Just imagine if you had to meet them in reality, eh?

This is just nonsense and doesn't even merit a response.

This isn't a debate and shouldn't be an issue. No personal abuse.

  11. This isn't because of anyone leaving the club.

The announcements that have been made about the club wanting to change the way they operate and involve the fans more is very positive and all we are saying is, if you can, get along to the game on Saturday and show your support of this to the club and get behind the team.

  12. Just to give an idea about the costs involved in this.

At the moment shares in PTFC are being offered at 40p per share. But you need to buy at least 1000 at a time.

So, if even just 100 fans paid £20, that would give us £2,000.

That would get us 5,000 shares. Split between the 100 fans, that means you are getting 50 full shares for £20.

    Cheers

  13. Might be an alternative for those who want to see bigger fan representation but have lost faith in the Centenary Fund. £95 in one go is still alot to ask for the fans to pay (assuming a similar figure would be used).

Yeah I agree £95 is a bit steep. It would probably work out a lot cheaper for us though as our shares don't cost as much. Would need to do the sums but it should be a lot cheaper than £95.

    Cheers
