Nixon now reporting Graham has said no.
We seem to be dragging our feet on this process and in danger of losing candidates because we didn't move fast enough.
Literally elected a new Pope faster than we've appointed a Head coach
Well, I mean, when you have the choice between an American and anybody else, you take the American - no questions asked, right??? 😆

The only interview question I care about:
”Last season, our most consistent attack was getting the ball to a midfielder. The midfielder waited for someone to make a run. No one made a run. The midfielder dribbled a little waiting for someone upfield to make a run or take a pass. The midfielder put his hands up as if to say, ‘Where is my run?’ The midfielder then passed short to a guy on the wing, who was running backwards and quickly pressured. The wing either passed back to midfield or back to the defence. Defence said “eff this, I will try a long ball. The long ball went out of play. We went through this multiple times each game.
What is the problem with this and what would you change to fix it?”
I increasingly don’t care who our manager is as long as he offered a satisfactory answer to this.

League has just announced we have two Friday night away days and two away cup ties to Dingwall for the coming season.
-
These are only the FIRST ROUND interviews, mind. Next week, the top 2 will have follow ups. And then of course, the evening gown competition.

And how do we get a bigger home gate ?
Playing shite football and failing to get promoted every season is just not cutting it .
I think that’s more a question for Levi Gill than the SD. I think the SD works out recruitment, scouting, analytics, player negotiations. Levi’s job is to grow the club. Certainly, he, the SD, and the board need to collaborate on some things.

Any prospective interviewees must give satisfactory answers to the following questions
1. Tell me about your previous managerial experience.
2. Tell me about your achievements in management till this point.
3. Tell me what attracted you to this post and your ambitions for the club.
Any candidate who cant answer the following questions to the satisfaction of the Board must be discounted.
We cant afford anymore failures...
Bonus points if they know the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow. 😆

Are there any convincing examples of a club that has risen from mediocrity to success and where that sequence is attributable to the appointment of a Sporting Director, with a Head Coach as his side-kick?
USG in Belgium. SD with a focus on analytics in recruiting.

For those not on Twitter, Imrie posted a photo of a red and yellow drink sitting side by side at his table.
Whether he’s taking the piss or just referring to the fact he was interviewed, who knows.

Is Roberts contract up at the end of the season? We obviously can’t get near what he would be earning just now but if his contract is up no harm in asking the question.
Like you I think Mitchell and Budinikaus are more than fine for backup
I was looking up his stats this season and it looks like he hasn’t seen the pitch in his current loan deal. Might be able to entice him with guaranteed game time.

Two downsides to the play offs is not knowing your league status and being behind most of the other clubs in your league in pre season planning.
Excellent point. You manage to win promotion and your plans change drastically.
i imagine the same goes for candidates. I’m sure some are waiting to see where you finish, whether you get promotion, and who gets binned from a premier league team.

Whoever is our new manager/coach, I hope next season they can coach our players to pass the ball in front of their team mate, look to go forward with their first touch and get back to some entertaining football.
That would already see a marked improvement on this season.
Specifically sorting out the midfield-to-attacker connection. The metric for gauging progress in this area next season should be the number of times a midfielder pauses and holds his hands up like “why the f**k isn’t anyone moving?”

Fan-owned, not fan-run 😆
Well fine they can make it like an old tele-dating video then so it doesn’t look so obvious. 😁
”You know, I’m looking for that special someone who enjoys long walks on the beach, nights in by a romantic fire….someone who really knows the Scottish game”

The sackings are less to do with position than momentum/form, right?
It’s not a question of “you’re in 4th and we budgeted for 4th so you’re fine”.

Would really love to see an interview with Baraclough and Beastall (and anyone else involved in the hiring) to understand what they are looking for in a new coach. BEFORE they select the new coach.
-
One thing I keep coming back to - if we’ve gone out and grabbed Baraclough to be sporting director, does that mean our manager choice is also going to be kind of left-field?
-
Early goal for us on Friday and things at least get interesting.

I do wonder if an unexpected benefit of having an Academy presence in the interim management is a knowledge and trust in these young boys that others may not have had.
I would love to hear BG, MW, or even Dools/McCall talk about how they know when a youth player is ready for that jump.
Stanway had gone from no game time under McCall to regular play under Dools in a span of a few months. I doubt Stanway just “flipped a switch” and was suddenly ready.
I’d be willing to tolerate another season in the championship if we could give the kids more opportunities and figure out the youth development pathway.

If forum members want to keep this place alive, there is a way to do it.
Tom has indicated a willingness to hand the forum over to a new set of admins and moderators if they're willing to step up and take on those responsibilities.
TJF has no interest in running the forum itself (its value is in major part its independence from the club's custodians).
But we are willing to facilitate discussions about a handover if there are willing volunteers.

I’ve replied but would like to better understand the roles/responsibilities a bit more before committing to anything.

Ah what a result to see live! Didn’t think Terry was offside, and the precision of his header into the bottom right corner was perfect.
If you had to describe to someone what it’s like to be a Thistle fan using only 90 minutes of play, I can’t think of anything better than this. You’re high, then you’re low, then you’re despondent, then you’re running onto the pitch (not me! I need my passport to get home!)
Amazing night. So happy to be part of this community, through good and bad.

Thanks for the offer. Great to see Thistle fans rallying round. I was going to get mine on Friday night on my way to the match. I tend to turn up earlier now to get a parking space. (I don't know what tix is)
Tix = tickets. They’ll have them for sale in the lobby/reception of the Colin Weir Stand earlier in the day, I think. Then maybe the portacabin closer to the start.

That latest update sorts me out thanks LLD. I can bring all my tickets from this season as extra proof. I don't expect too many fans to have a Belfast postcode. Thanks again for your offer.
Just purchased mine in person at the stadium (and saw Jakubiak, Megwa, and the documentary producer!). Are you good on tix? Will be in the area another 30 mins and can purchase for you if needed.

Bigger question is how did not give the kid an opportunity in our side and then let him go to an inferior club?

That's me I'm afraid. Never bought a home ticket on line, so I'll have to wait and see. Might have to watch it on telly in the pub. Some of the dross we've sat through this season that won't be too much of an ordeal.
In same situation. Spoke with Eve from the club about how to get a ticket. I think they are sorting out answers and I hope to hear something today. Last I heard there would be cash sales on the day.

Probably just need to wait until the dominoes fall and all the positions are filled. Then the Board (Brian Graham as well maybe) will be able to discuss what exactly happened.
