  1. Don't know about that particular instance but sadly there are a few Thistle supporters (some of them post on thus forum) who think it's ok to abuse their own players .Apparently" it does the players good".Encourage? Yes -Abuse ? No

  2. 4 hours ago, allyo said:

Wider society has largely moved on from sectarian issues. But football has not. There's no question in my mind that  the mouthpieces of CelSev keep it going.

And the clubs themselves are complicit. Orange strips and armed forces day (how worthy) don't help.

Nor, I suppose, do Irish flags and music. (Though somehow I personally find it hard to get so offended by that).

  3. I too remember Lawless getting pelters. There is no doubt he has talent but unfortunately he is human, like every other player , and did not always perform at his best.

I also seem to remember that he said he did not like being “tied” down  for a lengthy period to avoid complacency.Make of that what you will.

  4. We need a BIG win to inject some confidence into the team.Don’t really want to hear how “unlucky” we were or that we “dominated” the game but still couldn’t win.Caldwellshould be banned from using these words in the after match interviews.Just leave it at “we didn’t play well enough to win” and get on with it.We’re gonna start feeling sorry for ourselves and that would be fatal.

  5. If,and it’s a big if,GC survives to the January window, then it’s reasonable to assume he will a better knowledge of players available in the English leagues than Archie. However I have the feeling that Archie seldom managed to get his first picks and ended up with 2 nd best rather than nobody.

    Same could happen to GC.

  6. Would have thought it’s obvious.Caldwell has realised he’s made a mistake and is now adopting Tony Hancocks football managers strategy. You know ,the one where he put the 4’6” winger in goal.

This will force the board to sack him and pay compo.Sorted.

  7. As there’s not much in the way of discussion thought I would ask a question that genuinely puzzles me.Why is it that most posters on here would advocate all out attack at Firhill against say ,Falkirk, but if it’s at Brockville recommend a cautious approach.

I can understand  caution against teams considering better than you but given that most teams are on a par with each other  with a few exceptions, why don’t we just adopt a policy of all out attack home and away.

    Just askin’ like.

  8. If fitness is an issue then we’re unlikely to see any benefit from a new regime for a few weeks. If anything performances are likely to drop off until the changes take effect .Only going by my own experiences of increased training routines.Used to be knackered for a couple of weeks.
