  1. This is unbelievable! Come on Jags keep it going, dont give Falkirk any encouragement. Remember Palmerston.

BTW, does anyone know if Brazil are still planning to call up Chris? :D

  2. Im praying this game is called off, I've been coughing my guts up since Friday. I was mad enough to still attend Saturday's match, but I really dont think its wise for me to go tonight when its going to be cold and wet. With the state our pitch was in before this heavy rain, surely theres no chance of this game going ahead?

Well, I'm delighted that my raindance worked.

I expect our pitch to resemble a bowling green come next Tuesday

  3. FIngers crossed this is off, I want to watch the Champions League tonight.

  4. Full time. What a difference 4-4-2 makes!

According to the official site we played with a 3-5-2 formation.

Edited to add: Damn I must learn to type faster!

  5. That was an absolutely superb result, I didnt see that result coming. Pinch me I must be dreaming, we scored a goal from a corner and Paddy Boyle scored! What was he doing in the opposition box so late in the game? But seriously Boyle must be a contender for player of the season, his improvement this season has been incredible, he deserves an improved contract, surely we can give him it?

We have now shot up to 4th place, and we have a positive goal difference for the first time this season, its been a great day all round. I feel now we shouldnt have to worry about the playoffs, we have finally got an away win for the first time in months and we have a really good home record. So providing we keep that up we have a good chance of finishing 4th – 5 of our last 7 matches are at Firhill. Things are looking good, thats now 1 defeat in our last 12 league games, lets keep it going Jags! :thumbsup2::fan:

By the way who was it who put a bet on us to win 1-0? I just wondered how they felt when they seen we had gone 2-0 up in the last minute? You must have felt delight that we had secured the win but also really annoyed that Thistle had ruined your bet! :D

  6. Dissapointing result and it doesn't sound like we created much either unlike last Tuesday. Lets hope we can start another unbeaten run with 3 points against County on Saturday. We have to sort out our away form, 1 win in 11 away matches is really putting pressure on our home form.

  7. After watching that I watched the highlights from our last visit to Palmerston back in September (here they are). After Rocco Quinn scores their winner, look how much wilder his celbrations are (throwing his top in the air and running to the crowd) compared to Grehan's celebration on Saturday. I just can't understand what the ref booked Grehan for. Very strange.

  8. I'm always uneasy when there's this much optimism on here before a big match, because we then usually end up getting beat. When everyone is full of doom and gloom on here and predicting us to lose however, Thistle usually end up surprising us and pulling a result out of the bag. So I say we increase the negativity in the build up to the game tomorrow night. Then we might do the business :thumbsup2::)

I'll start the ball rolling I predict an undeserved 2-1 defeat for Thistle after extra time.

  9. This calendar year has been really poor for us overall. Can anyone who has more patience (or is sadder than me lol) provide our overall league stats for the whole year? I would be interested to see our overall win draw loss record, and goals for and against. True our goals for record is woeful, but I guess the positive side is we do seem to have really tightened up at the back recently. Now if we could just find a goalscorer...

  10. I thought we'd seen the worst of the snow but its back with a vengeance today. I dont know what its like in and around Glasgow but here in Renfrew its being snowing really heavily since about 8 this morning and its still falling! It looks like another 3 inches have fallen on top of what was there already.

I would be very surprised if the game tomorrow night goes ahead and IMO it would be a ridiculous decision by the SFL if they don't postpone it. Why are they in such a rush to play this game anyway? If I remember correctly Thistle asked the SFL to leave playing this fixture until later in the season but the SFL refused. I mean what size of crowd are we likely to get if it went ahead tomorrow night? It will be freezing, people are being told not to travel unless it is absolutely necessary, plus there is Champions League football on TV. What will people choose between watching footie in -10C or watching footie while sitting indoors warm and cosy? Plus I'd need skis attached to my wheelchair to get to Firhill in these conditions!

So come on SFL use some common sense for once!

  11. Bit pedantic I know but this stuck out to me. We shoud be able to get the English correct on a statement coming out of our boardroom. On the upside it does indicate that they want to give us more information, a bit of transparency from the board would be a nice change :)

To be even more pedantic, Jaggernaut has misquoted the quote! What the article actually says is:

"These three gentleman (and that’s exactly what they are) have given they’re time, energy and money to the club. "

So the jury is still out as to whether they are human or not.

  12. Somebody pinch me I must be dreaming! Not only did we win, but:

we won by more than a 1 goal margin for the first time this season,

we scored from a corner kick (shock horror!),

a substitution from IMac actually improved the game in our favour,

and that goalscoring substitute was Chris Erskine! :o

A day of so many shocks and surprises, brilliant!:thumbsup2:
