  1. What has happened to Bannigan? Higginbotham and Fraser are just terribly off form but Bannigan looks different - I always thought of him as a box-to-box midfielder with a great engine on him but he's far too negative and slows the play down too often. I'd rather start Wilson or Craigen right now and I never thought I'd say that, having previously been a huge fan.

Bannigan is off to Dundee Utd at the end of the season with O'Donnell.

  2. It was an unbelievable performance. Half way through the second half a ball comes over, bounce shoulder high. Dools goes to kick it but raises his foot just above knee high and pulls out the challenge . Instant foul and a talking to.

10 mins later, we throw a ball deep into the box. Think it was SoD that goes to header it and the Killie defender boots him in the head, yes, the head. Play on says Willie. How can this idiot carry on refereeing!!!

  3. Fantastic deal today. The place was jam packed. Great atmosphere. A free drink, then lovely soup, sandwiches and a little pie and a free programme. And a great wee band as well pumping out some great tunes. All for £5. We need to do this again. Make it a tenner and it will be full every week. Well done. Really enjoyed it.

  4. I think a lot of guys with the talent that Roberts had struggle to pass on their skill to an inferior standard of player so I'm not terribly surprised to see him leave Ayr. A great character but never struck me as a manager. Along with Sid, from a technical point of view, he's one of the best players we've had in recent times and in my opinion, is undoubtedly the single most influential player we've had during my time watching Thistle.

He should always be made welcome at Firhill because without him, I don't think we'd have a team to support. If Archie thinks he can help with the attacking players, I'd be delighted to see him back.

    Allez ze Hoor.

This exactly. This man single handedly saved our great club from oblivion. We certainly wouldn't have been delighting in beating ICT 4-0 or signing Frans or looking to top 6, if Mark Roberts hadn't pulled on the famous red n yellow in that playoff promotion season. It would have been all over.

  5. Thought we were a bit unlucky to lose that game. We played well and were the better team. Super support made the journey up there, well done to all that made the journey. Looking forward to hearing what they thought of the game. The difference between the teams is that they have a big centre forward full of guile. He ran the length of the pitch and shrugged off our defence to win the penalty. We played well and will pick up enough points to stay up.

  6. That's what we done at Cappielow when we drew 2-2 with them a couple of seasons back. They needlessly cordoned off the part of the terracing nearest the cowshed when a few hundred of our supporters were struggling to find space after arriving late. We removed the police tape and moved over ourselves. The stewards tried to point out the first couple of us that moved over but by the time the police arrived a few hundred of us had made it our area. It's easily done.

    Exactly this.

  7. Partick Thistle in poor spell sensation!

Aw naw, if only I could turn the clock back fifty years and jump ship. Archie and Shaggy and all the back room staff MUST sacked with immediate effect. The board must be investigated by Strathclyde's finest, then done for conspiracy to shaft all Thistle fans. The club must be wound up straight away and the (remaining half of) ground sold off to Tesco.

Jeezo, thank god we never had the internet in my younger days; I would've done maself in twice a month.

Right, can all the daft wee boys go and torment some other fan board now. How about Falkirk or Dunfermline, or Morton? This is getting severely tedious now. Bad enough when we've had a bad afternoon on the park, but to log on and see all this trolling jumping out at you, just makes you want to go back to newspapers, pens and writing pads.

    Grrrrrrrr.

As usual, I find myself agreeing with Mr Blackpool. Let's all calm down a wee bit.

  8. We started quite well and Dools should have scored a rebounded shot, but once they scored, we seemed to retreat into our shell. Lawless tried hard but alas, they didn't look good at all in the second half. No belief I'd say.

  9. Wasn't one of our better days. I thought the substitutions were a bit odd, unless he's keeping them fit for next weeks relegation decider!

Gallagher needs to come back pronto. He's a lot more vocal and commands his box better. Foxy needs to push out a bit like the German goalie Neuer or whatever his name is.

  10. Rave on Bobby Law. V. Hamilton. 25yards out. Unstopable thunderbolt.... well.... until it hit the post, hit the hapless Andy Murdoch on the back, and ricocheted into the net... getitupye Lambie!!!

Great strike. Spawny goal. But the celebration, straight to the shed in a Tardelli - Espana '82 styleee..... stuff of legend.

"My strongest position is midfield, but I would play anywhere just to get a game for Thistle" ..... OH Bobby, Bobby! Bobby, Bobby,Bobby,Bobby, BOBBY LAW!!!!!!

    :fan:

i remember this one. Thanks for reminding me about it. A stoatir!!
  11. he had an assist for Lawless' goal and he headered the ball onto Lawless who laid on for Higgy's goal. if that's bad link up play then I'll settle for that! he'll get a goal soon enough.

Exactly. He also holds the ball up very well and has a great understanding of where his fellow team mates are.

  12. MOM by a country mile was Higgy. Followed very closely by Jordan M. We need to keep hold of Higgy as long as possible. A true Thistle gem. Abdul was excellent and Stevenson was terrific too. There's some right eejits on here who have obviously never actually played football at any great level bumping their gums.
