  1. I'd like to think Banzo would be last resort/short term solution only. Would be a big miss from the midfield.
  2. Pretty sure it is sour grapes. I was told from someone who knew his ex Gateshead now St Mirren pal, that he was coming up to sign & that was before he'd even crossed the border.
  3. From what he was telling jags fans before he went to Spain, I reckon it might have come as a surprise to him.
  4. Missed that!! But then Magnay right sided also. Does make you wonder...
  5. True but at least the trialists looked half decent at that point. Hard to judge Mustoe as injured early but not sure Magnay better than Mair. All over the place last night & poor in the jump. Genuinely hope we can do better than him as we'd be as well going with one if the youngsters- Brownlie or Lindsay- if not.
  6. Story I heard is Picollo going back to Spain & considering only a year left on his contract I'd be surprised if he's back. Does anyone know if Cregg even been training with us let alone travel to Spain?
  7. Barr & Magnay then. Barr another Welsh in that he's missed more games than he's played last few years. From last night' s team, I'd suggest that's how thin our squad is when a couple of players unfit for whatever reason.
  8. Magnay is a target & will sign believe me. Also heard Bauben back at the end of this week for pre season. I'd havd thought in seeing the manager said he wanted his transfer business done early then we would have seen a number of, not all, signings before going to Spain. & like you said, "opinion". I thought the fact the club are charging more on STs this year then we might be looking at kicking on & improving the squad. Taylor a blow but think the club were right not throw silly money at him. However if the back up plan was, as has been reported, was Lee Miller. It seems we've missed out on our 2 main striking targets.
  9. Taylor I agree with but I'll say again if the quality of player that we are aiming at signing is a former winner of a TV football talent show who's career has been in a downward spiral since first getting a pro contract culminating in his most recent release at Gateshead & you're happy with that then that's your perogative. Personally, with the increase in ST monies & with a bigger budget than last season at the manager's disposal I'd have hoped for better quality. Whilst I'm not saying we should've signed all the guys mentioned above, surely you agree they're a better pedigree than a TV talent show winner?
  10. 5 weeks to start of season or not, surely you want folk in place before you go to Spain? As for Magnay, 25, released by Gateshead & career been on a downward spiral since winning a contract through an X factor type football show on satellite TV. If people think that's the kind of player we should be targeting let alone signing -& from what I've heard, forget the trial line, it seems to be happening- then that's their prerogative. I think we should be expecting better.
  11. Magnay on trial according to the ET. I'm a little disappointed that we've been unable to sign someone outright to replace ATS or Mair without having the possibility of a Summer of revolving door trialists. That & fact we've missed out on Taylor. 1 signing in place out of 6 that the manager wanted & we're at the trialist stage.
  12. It's not that bad. Just hope that there's been 'talks' with others though & we haven't put all our eggs in ine basket so to speak. The trialist count at pre season training tomorrow & in Spain could be interesting.
  13. Chris Jack saying yesterday on Twitter that nothing imminent at Firhill. Have to admit with the release of Mair & fact that Sinclair being off from a long time back I'm a little surprised we don't have at least one more addition in by now.
  14. 1st division team with a rookie manager & no squad to speak off. In all honesty if that's the level of the guy's ambition then he'd be no loss. Don't think it'll happen though.
  15. Good spot. It wouldn't surprise me if both Taylor & Erskine ended up back at some point in next 8 weeks or so before transfer window shuts. Ideally you'd like it to be as soon as but you know what these things are like especially if they're still under contract at the other clubs. They're possibly happy for them to go to free up wages but the players, rightly, hold off for the best deal from their clubs. Both of those players know the club & the system we play so if they were to come back last minute then they'd be able to slot right in. Personally I'd like to see the new left back & centre half on the plane with us at pre season. Don't know anything but wouldn't surprise me if we saw a new face this week.
  16. I'm not complaining for the sake of complaining. In the same way you say you found it easy, many others have found it difficult. Also the inconsistencies with some receiving email or written correspondence & others, including myself, nothing. I disagree with the small club quote. We are a Premier League club now with, I'd imagine, a 6 figure turnover last season. Also, if we were a 'small' club then you'd expect a far more personal experience rather than being charged for the privilege. We are growing on the park which in turn will mean the administrative side will also grow. At this moment in time it seems to be temps & volunteers!! Did we ever replace Michelle Evans?
  17. Renewed my seat through an apple device. Took a screenshot of payment/transaction number which is probably just as well as I've had nothing from club to say that it's been done. I tend to agree with Bowen Boys post. Shambles off the park. Then again, how many Summers have we said that? Lambies Lost Doo- Are you related to someone in the club as I'd suggest you're in the minority if you fully trust that site.
  18. They've probably been trying to come to an agreement on severance pay as him, Malpas & think it was the GK coach all signed 3 yr deals in November & knowing Hibs there was probably no relegation clause in it!! For what it's worth I don't rate the guy as a manager in either playing style or man manager but read that give or take a couple of players brought in on loan during Jan, it was predominately Fenlon's team. Ben Williams, their keeper, pretty scathing of Butcher's methods. An expensive mistake but is it Petrie 's way of appeasing their fans in hope they lay off him? Not that that's likely.
  19. Sincerely hope we're not going down the trailist route again looking for a centre half! Was like a revolving door with foreign centre halves in. & out the club last Summer!! If that's the case we'd have been as well keeping Mair.
