As far as i can remember, unless a premier league team is involved a test is not required. Was this player tested for some other reason ?

Yes, that was my understanding.  What seemed to be a very risky way to save Clubs money.

  2. So it looks like the only way that football stadia may be safe is if we dont let the players in.

Looks like we are a long way from football games with fans present. If football squads cant be guaranteed to be Covid free, how can crowds?

The outburst by SFA and SPFL officials on Saturday is more recognisably political, when you learn that the football authorities met with the leader of the Scottish Tories (and football referee) a day ot two before.

Is it not a conflict of interest when a football official has a zoom call with 24 of the Clubs that he is likely to be the referee/assistant referee of at some point of the season?

It could be seen as applying pressure to the Clubs.

Yes, also cut out a few times. But overall i felt it was a far better stream than the BSC game. Of course the opposition was much better today as well.

Yes, the stream was a bit clearer and camera seemed to track the ball better.  Still more improvement to be made if it is going to be an acceptable commodity for season ticket holders. There appeared to be about 1,500 views so hopefully capacity will not be an issue.

I think the issue for me was trying to access a new link for each occasion, as the previous ones just kept taking me back to earlier segments.

  5. I have taken the decision not to attend away league games and use the cash to upgrade my season ticket to hospitality for a couple of games at Firhill.

I have not decided what to do regarding away cup ties where the gate money is split. I have not made this decision lightly. Living in Cumbernauld I am pretty sure that there was a fair degree of spite influencing Clydes decision, bolstered by the expectation of a large travelling Jags support on a couple of occasions.

I had a chat with someone close to Hearts at the start of the week and mentioned potential boycotts. His view, and he told me the view expressed by some SPFL officials, was that "fans wont boycott as the love their football too much".

In other words, "suck it up"

Everyone will have their own opinion of what happened and for what reasons. I would struggle to bring myself to  financially contribute to Clubs who voted against us and condemmed us to an unfair demotion.

Downloaded the App, site wont accept the password that they sent to me. Forgotten password does not work.

Tried through the laptop, notification states that site is insecure and all sort of warnings have come up.

Phoned Firhill, they reset the password. Managed to get in to site.

Tried to reset my password later but no joy.  Will try again later but at least barcode comes up to allow entry.

  7. We are in a dreadful league position, our major benefactor has recently died.

As a Jags fan for almost 60 years , the Club needs our support more than ever. There are lots of things that I am unhappy about at the Club at present, but it wont stop me going to Firhill.

Apart from Mansell, all of them have contracts which end this May (2020), so will be on their way soon anyway.  Mansell has another year on his contract.  Might be a useful squad player as can hold the ball up well and push defenders around; no great shakes goal scoring but hasn't been given much game time this season.  OK I know there must be better out there but he may not be easy to get rid of so should consider if he can do a job for us, though obviously not an automatic starter.  Since he hasn't had much game time it's hard to see how anyone would want to take him off our hands.

I should point out some others are out of contract in May too including one or two we might want to keep.  One however is MIller; would anyone want to make a case for him?

No, I hope that he (Miller) goes ASAP.

  9. Pass marks to Sneddon and some of the young guys. Austin, Mansell, Jones and Slater were  all very poor. Harkins was abysmal.  If it hadn't been for a mistake at the start of the game by their keeper we never would have scored.

Sneddon had some tremendous saves. Austin ended up playing at left back.

Asking this for a friend. His mate has told him that there used to be an apple tree growing at the back of the terracing at the Glasgow end of Firhill. Says he was brought  up in a tenement at that end where Rough had a pub. He maintains he could look into the park apart from the tree.

Is this true or a wind up? Before my time so I have no clue.

Yes, I remember as a kid walking up that at least one apple tree was there. I  seem to have been told that they were crab apples and not a cultivated variety.  I never tried to eat one.

The Weir thing - whatever it turns out to be - will be tied up this coming week or next, apparently.

It's why it's all gone quiet from TFE recently - it's all been overtaken by events.

(And for anyone who wants to know how I know this - whispers and rumours. But I think they're accurate.)

Ah but, are these whispers and rumours known knowns or unknown knowns?
