  1. Someone just highlighted this thread - not been on the forum much. Anyway, almost 60 of set off from Campbeltown and 7.45am on Saturday morning to head to Milton where over 40 kids and youths enjoyed a terrific 90 minute coaching session hosted by the Thistle Weir Youth Academy before we made out way to the game. Was a bit worried it might be a wet miserable day and finish 0-0 but everyone witnessed a cracking game with 4 top quaility goals! Couldn't have went better and at the end the kids got on to the pitch to get their photo beside the Thistle Weir board. After that they met a couple of players before we headed down the road finally getting home just before 10pm. The feedback has been superb with the kids, parents and coaches all commenting on how much they enjoyed the whole day. It looks like we now have a wee band of of new Thistle supporters too! Really was a great day and we hope to enjoy the experience sometime again! For anyone on Facebook there are a couple of photos at https://www.facebook.com/CampbeltownFootball And yes, we presented Gerry with a special bottle of Springbank Malt and one for the club too which Ian Maxwell said will be on display now. :-) Great stuff - well done Thistle!
  2. Anyone involved in Youth Football that would be interested in playing a friendly against our youth team? We have options to play 16s, 17s and 18s (1995-97) and are keen to get games. We are happy to travel to the Glasgow area for games and equally happy to host the game here in Campbeltown. Now that we have a state of the art 3G pitch here (at last!) we can host games all year round. Boys down here are desperate for games and due to our distance we've never played in youth leagues. We also run kids football too if anyone knows of any kids football festivals coming off give us a shout. We are hosting a Fun Four and Sevens festival on 1st June here in Campbeltown if anyone fancies a wee trip :-)
  3. Yeah, that would be great jagfox, thanks. Lansdowne this Saturday it is :-)
  4. Cheers Alx - that sounds perfect. Will give it a try this Saturday - just looking for somewhere to chill, get a bite to eat and a pint (especially the pint bit after 4 hours on the bus!). Been a few times to the Woodside Inn before and after games and fine too, but a packet of crisps before the game isn't ideal for the wee man! Thanks for all your help, much appreciated. PS - SuM, will check out the Wise Monkey on the way down too for future reference as pass it. Coopers would be ideal - need to come up without the weans one day! Thanks too
  5. Is there anywhere anyone can recommend that I can go before games around the Kelvinbridge area - for something to eat, perhaps a pint, with children? Cheers
