  1. Is it just the Old Fart in me that thinks 4,000 seats for the Jags might not be enough today? The last three games the Jags support has been well over that (Cup Final, Morton and Raith Rovers). With it being a lovely sunny Saturday and a ground that is pretty easy to get to, surely a Jags Support of over 4,000 is easily possible?

  2. Does anyone know if there is Disabled Parking available at Livingston on Sunday? :unknw:

I gave Livingston a call this morning to check and the girl said that they usually have match day disabled parking, but she wasn't 100% sure of the arrangements for the final, any advice or help would be appreciated :thumbsup2:

  3. On Saturday V Livi, there was a small incident involving a Thistle fan and 4 Livi fans. The Thistle fan was me and I am deeply embarrased about it. There was a mention of it on here and on Pie & Bovril stating a was behaving like a fan of one of the undesirables and the poster was right. The Livi fans reacted to the young Thistle fans in a way I didn't like. What I should have have done was speak to a Steward and not react in the way I did. Thankfully the Stewards and the Police told me to grow up and sit down or I was out. So thanks for that, the poster mentioned he wanted me ejected, ive felt that before and thought to myself before, thank got that knobs been put out, this time the knob was me, embarresed not the word.

I'd like to say sorry for my behaviour, this behaviour just adds to any case the Police would have in rejecting the way the match day operations work at Firhill. Ie the area in which the Shed, Kids area are situated.

To the fellow Jag and member on here, sorry if I spoilt you day in any way, it was a performance to remember.

    Gordon.

:thumbsup2: Nice genuine post, by a real Jags fan!!

  4. Stuart's booking today takes him to six for the season, so I am assuming that he will now face a one, or is it two game suspension?

Does this mean he will miss Tuesday's game, or does it start at a later date?

  5. I am expecting a few key players (e.g. Fox, Archie, Erskine, Lawless, Welsh) to be rested or sit on the bench. It's a good opportunity for Elliot, Slane and Rowson to start.

Can't see Fox been rested, from the Reseve match last night:-

"Of more concern than the result was an injury sustained by Ryan Scully in the first half. Ryan unfortunately suffered a concussion after colliding with a Stenhousemuir player as the two went for a 50/50 ball. Ryan, who was taken to hospital, also damaged his shoulder and back and although the medical staff saw no reason to be unduly concerned, he must be rated as a doubt for Saturday’s game with Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup."

  6. In 35 Years of watching Thistle, today I had one of the best days at the football.....EVER! :thumbsup2:

Myself & my daughter, get to go along to hospitality, which was simply brilliant from start to finish, the Thistle Staff, including Maxi were all excellent with some great entertainment from Mr Robert Reid, :worship: food from Mr Singhs India in Glasgow (Satty Singh was there running it all),was top class, we got a great table with everyone really nice and friendly and oh yes, the Jags run out 7-0 winners.... :nomads: We are Partick Thistle and We Score When We Want!!! :nomads:

  7. Wednesday 30th March 1977 v's Motherwell, a 0-0 draw, but I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

I went along with my mate and his Dad who were lifelong Jags Fans, and from that day on I never looked back, well I cried, sobbed and wailed a lot since, but you know what I mean.

I had another 0-0 each draw for my 2nd game and had to wait till my third game to see the Jags score and win 1-0 against Hibs - needless to say the scorer Jim Melrose became my hero!

  8. How do you say ʃiɠe, Seeg or Ciggy?

And why is your username SigeSige and not ʃiɠeʃiɠe?

I learned the 44 letter/sound ITA Alphabet at school, so I'll handle any funny-looking-letter translations for you! :thumbsup2:

You kids have it easy today with a 26 letter alphabet!!

  9. Chris Erskine is worth the admission money for his unorthodox but entertaining skills.Who cares if it does not always come off.At least he is doing what every professional

    player should do- he entertains.

Instead of abusing the player when it goes wrong give him a cheer shrug your shoulders and say Thats our Chris.

Big Denis was the same.Sometimes he was Messi othertimes messy but again he was entertaining.

    What he said! :thumbsup2::happy2::thumbsup2:

  10. Seems as if some people disagree with you "1971"

There's nothing wrong with trying these things out, surely?

Under the previous BOD, the atmosphere within the ground was never considered, unless someone can tell me otherwise.

The fact that onethistle have tried to address this head on, surely can only be a good thing.

If we were too scared to try anything new we would still be watching games in morgue-like atmospheres.

I do find it strange, 1971, that you are the only person within the jags support who was angry enough to start a whole new thread about something which, to me, seems extremely minor.

There is nothing wrong in trying out new things, which are attempting to create a better atmosphere at matches, some will work others wont, having the singing from the North Stand piped into the JHS, for me was not a good idea and the quality sounded poor and it didn't help the atmosphere.

The singing from the North Stand was good enough to stand on it's own merits, we could hear it well enough without any additional tinny version in the background.

I am neither "moaning" or "angry" about this piped singing, merely expressing my considered opinion as a fan, surely this is what OneThistle are after, feedback from all Thistle supporters? As I have said before some ideas will work others wont, for me and many sitting around me this piped singing is a non-starter, I prefer the original un-piped version straight from the North Stand.

  11. Did anyone else notice the crowd noise (presumably from the North Stand) that was being played into the JH stand today over the tannoy? What on earth was that all about? It sounded awful and was really annoying.

Great game today, and a really good atmosphere, but I have absolutely no idea who thought the above was a good idea.

Totally agree with everything you have just said, loved the game and the atmosphere, but no need to pipe through any singing from the North Stand...a step too far for me! :happy2:

  12. Not according to the SFA who said yesterday that the ban will cover 2 transfer windows.

If you check the SFA statement from their own Website you will find

"the company directors of Sevco Scotland Ltd have chosen to accept the 12-month registration embargo. This embargo will begin on 1st September 2012 and end on 31st August 2013."

There is no mention of 2 transfer windows anywhere, so my previous statement of how it will only cover one transfer window still applies.

  13. Not quite. They'll be allowed to sign players in the current transfer window, but not the next two so the squad they have on Sep 1st will have to do them for the 2012/13 season and the first half of the 2013/14 one.

I reckon that effectively the ban means they won't be able to sign players for just ONE transfer window.

If the transfer ban is up on 31st August 2013 it means that they can register players on that date. All deals could easily have been negotiated prior to that date.

Even if the date of 31st August 2013 is included in the ban, the 1st of September falls on a weekend in 2013, so they will actually have until 5pm on Monday 2nd of September to register anyway, so that is why it is possible that the ban is for only for one window.

The ban is just a total joke!

  14. An excellent alternative to Torrents are NewsGroups, I overheard some Guys at work talking about UsenetServer (http://www.usenetser...om/en/index.php) and you would also need a piece of software to be able to search the NewsGroups and download the files, I've heard that NewsBin Pro is excellent for the job (http://www.newsbin.com/index.php).

You do need to pay for UsenetServer about $10 a month gets you unlimited downloads and an encrypted SSL connection, the NewsBin Pro is a one off purchase of $20.

The main difference I've heard is that unlike torrents where you need someone to switch on their PC and share their files, these files are on Servers, so you have a constant access source. In addition I've heard you get full use of your bandwidth, for example I've got a 7MB connection and that would be my download speed all the time, 24 hours a day if I wanted it, unlike torrents which depend on folk keeping their PCs on and sharing, so I've heard.

Guys at work who have Virgin Broadband are getting 50Mb download speeds 24/7, allegedly! :innocent2:

  15. Just been onto the Victor Chandler site this morning to put my £50 on the Jags to win by 4 or more goals at nearly 3-1 and none of the bets are available anymore!

All thats left is to pick Home, Draw or Away, There is under 2.5 Goals (21/10) or over 2.5 Goals (1/3), but none of the odds are even close to worth it.

Now that I can't get a chance to make any money on it, of course the Jags will run riot today!! :)
