  1. I was 100% going to be renewing my season ticket at the first opportunity after the highs of Wednesday night plus the Beattie interview on STV, in which he explained the Club's vision for next season.

After this news, I'm certainly not in a hurry to renew now. Let's wait to see how this pans out over the course of the close season. I'm looking forward to an official statement from the Club regarding this issue and then we can scrutinize what on earth the reasons are behind this.

Only Partick Thistle would generate such a buzz around the Club over a few days and then completely deflate it almost instantly.

  2. Thistle are the only team ever to get relegated from the Scottish top league through a play-off (who could forget Tannadice!). And as soon as we were down, the SPL then decided to abolish the play-off so that it was simply one relegation place and one promotion place.

    That is not true.

Season 1996/97 the play-off was still in place, where Hibs beat Airdrie to stay up. It was abolished after that.

  3. Morton are a complete joke. Beating them last season was so sweet that I don't think I'll ever get over at just how good it was to finally prove that, throughout the whole season, we were the far, far better team. The contrast in their fortunes over the course of 12 months is staggering but not surprising when you look at the bigger picture. In all honesty, I couldn't give the slightest toss about their current predicament.

As Ian rightly pointed out earlier, the blame lies completely on Rae's door. Unless he leaves and somehow they manage to live within their means Morton will never progress. Added to that he is a PR disaster and has been doing far more harm than good for a number of years now.

  4. The prospect of us putting the final nail in the coffin and dooming the Jam tarts to relegation is one which should be savoured and celebrated a plenty.

I shall be doing both of those tomorrow excessively if we win.

  5. This Aberdeen love in makes me sick.

A good number of their fans, after getting gubbed at Firhill were a complete embarrassment. You knew they were absolutely seething at losing to a Glasgow team. The worst sore losers I have ever had the pleasure to stand on Firhill Road with.

  6. Wonder if anyone could shed some light - I hv been taking my young nephew to most games lately at home and was wondering if there's anyway I can get him to the Celtic game with us sitting together. I am a season ticket holder

I'd say the best bet would be seats in the Main Stand. Unless of course your season ticket is in section that wasn't allocated to the Celtic fans back in October and there is a free seat next you?

  7. Second Division Champions 2000/01

    and

    First Division Champions 2001/02

VHS tapes in their original cases. Going free to the first offer of a good home (for them, not me).

I'll happily take them if they are still available?

  8. The team rose to the occasion today. Things went our way and we took our chances when they mattered. Seeing out the first half for 0v0 was crucial.

Three good goals, Taylor's finish for the 3rd goal was excellent.

Lets kick on from here Thistle.

  9. Doesn't surprise me people on here can simply disregard Forbes's contribution to last season, which was up there with one of our best in a generation. Ok, hasn't worked out for him this season but he played a key role in our promotion last season. He finally gave us a vital threat from set pieces last season which provided so many important goals at key moments in big games.

He's got a medal to show for his efforts last season, which he thoroughly deserved.

Good luck to him in the future.

  10. And the new boy, after a lively couple of matches, now seems to be off the boil, but is still preferred to Doolan....

You could have played Doolan in the last three matches and he wouldn't have scored because the service to the striker has been poor in these games. By the same notion, Doolan would be "off the boil".

  11. What a complete joke of a thread. Craigen has had very good games and some poor games, like the whole squad this season.

Just pop in, have a few beers and you become an all time jags hero, who should never be dropped.

    Maybe in your wee world.

  12. Two players going for the same header cost us in the dying minutes. From memory, it was Mair's header all day long and Balatoni waded in out of nowhere. Would be happy to be proved wrong if it's the other way about but it shows us how much we shat it again.

From their flick on, Boyd flicks on a clever through ball and their player is in, Sinclair had no choice. Great reactions from Gallagher but where was our players at the follow through?

We know we're winning, we're so close to winning. The mental strength of the players begin to wane and mistakes cost us yet again.

The players actually need to man the **** up.
