Can see next season being 14-10-10-10 for “fairness” and “sporting integrity” as an interim measure but with the play-off and relegations set up to change it to say 14-14-16 for the following season.
Would prefer a 16 team top flight but don’t see that happening.

I have this mental image of people munching through bowls and bowls of plain pasta, while simultaneously wiping their arse and popping a few paracetamol.
It's scary how quickly society unravels...
Sounds like a usual Tuesday night in the west coast of Scotland.

Would always take Doolan back as a squad player and youth coach - if nothing else for his attitude and effort to rub off on those around him. However, at his age, I can imagine he doesn't want to play third of fourth fiddle and is going looking for guaranteed games.

Agree that this didn’t seem the area to try and strengthen. Could there be anything (unofficially) tied into the Rudden deal? Ie we’ll sell you Rudden for X but you’ve got to take Barjonas on a six month loan. Hope it’s not got a ‘games played’ requirement in there Or maybe I’m being totally paranoid and cynical.

Higginbotham's cross for Doolan's goal in that same period (post split 2014) was something special.
I agree that for that few months in 2014 he was as good as I've seen in a Thistle shirt.

For me, that goal says more about Doolan’s ability to finish than Higginbotham’s quality of cross. Hitting an unexpected curling ball with the outside of a foot is one thing, but to out jump your marker at the far post and loop a header back over the keeper is far tougher.

Yessss!!!!!
Eta: we must do all we can to keep Cole for the second half of the season. We need his goals from midfield.

As it stands, the table is making us look increasingly detached.

Not looking forward to a 6-1 gubbing.
Dobbie to score 7, including a freak-own goal.

Wasn’t at the game but from that angle it looks like O’Ware made very little contact. If I didn’t know the outcome, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see the ref book the Dunfermline player for diving.

Bit late in seeing this, but:
X = W+R, where W is the no of White Roses and R is the no of Red.
The ratio of 80% W means W=4R, or 0.25W=R.
When you add the other roses:
Total new no of White/total new no of roses = 0.75
(76+W)/((76+W)+(48+R))=0.75 ;
substitute in either of the above values for R or W:
(76+W)/((76+W)+(48+0.25W))=0.75;
(76+W)=57+0.75W+36+0.1875W;
0.0625W=17
W=272
therefore R=272/4=68
X=272+68=340

I’d give pass marks to Slater for effort and forward momentum.
Penrice, O’Ware and Fox get passes for doing nothing especially wrong.
Everyone else offered very, very little. -

Being at Dundee doesn’t say to me that he wasn’t given a chance. He had a reasonable season at Ayr, but isn’t setting the heather in fire at Dundee.
...but did just win player of the month. More than any of our players look like doing.

Crazy last five minutes. Definitely deserved at least a point, but very happy with the win. They hammered us for 30mins and then showed very little after scoring.
Changes at half-time we’re required. O’Ware didn’t know what to do when he had the ball and offered nothing moving forward. De Vita isn’t a hold-up attacker. Credit must be given to McCall for being bold enough to make the changes because it just wasn’t working. Mansell for all his faults caused a bit of chaos when he came on and Gordon’s energy changed the midfield dynamic.
Great day. Onwards and upwards.

I’d forgotten what it felt like to be leading a game late on and not shitting myself about the final result.

Just as an aside (and since I've never received any correspondence from them)...what were the mechanics of making every ST holder (2+ years) over 18 a member? What data base have they used? Where did it come from?
And can they still use it after GDPR was introduced?

He would be worth more in January or next summer .... basic negotiation is to get more bidders to drive up the price or play hardball on not selling ... we roll over and get our tummy tickled
Which is actually what we've done by rejecting the offers last January for circa £150k to get £350k now plus better add-ons. There's only so many times you can play that card.

See big Adrian has been included in Australia's provisional Squad for the world Cup...
Was never really a big fan but fair play to the big man! Must've come on leaps and bounds since leaving us!
Nah, Australia are just pish!

I find the people coming out bitching about Clegg talking to both parties a bit short sighted. He's playing everything out in the open, while also ensuring the best possible solution for the Lib Dems, himself, and in his view, the country. I believe they will only do a deal with the Conservatives, but by showing they have alternatives, they will get far more input to the cabinet - something which is valid if you view the number of votes cast and not the number of seats.

BBC version of events shows the young lad in the video delivering a mouthful of phlegm stright in the BNP guy's face. I'm not saying it's right to batter someone, but it was fairly extreme provocation.
So was the BNP guy in his manner and what he was saying. As well as his weel mate in the purple jumper how joined in kicking a guy on the ground and the second the guy on the ground got up, our purple jumper friend decided to run off behind someone else. ****ing cowardly scum!

I'd probably be up for joining a team - not played in ages, but would be good to have a game again.

Primary Colours - The Horrors this morning

Ian McCall Interview In The Herald

McCall came in with two assistants and the long term plan to "move upstairs". Turns out he had the wrong assistants. Not that it'll happen now, but McCall's ability to spot a player and Doolan's apparent ability to get the best out of them would've been great to see.
