I can't see any reason why kick-offs cannot be brought forward for mid-winter Saturday games when floodlights are needed This would save clubs money, and would allow that saving to be used forUSH if needed, thus avoiding re-scheduling fixtures, improving cashflow and possibly improving the environment.
That would involve common sense. Thistle v Ayr couldn’t ever possibly kick off at 12.45

Inevitable that away fans will be moved back into the north end of the JHS at some point I imagine. Probably next season if we don’t go up

Wonder how ‘cute’ we have been in our efforts to get game pitch playable and maybe again on Sunday. Re-arranged fixture(s) could be back to normal crowds.
Exactly this. Doubtful we have watered the pitch but bet we have done nothing to try and get it on
-
No rain since lunchtime and the games off. Very doubtful Sunday will happen either
-
If tonight’s game is off don’t expect Sundays to go ahead. Forecast between now and the is, to put it nicely, wet

No email re tomorrow night despite Ayr being first choice. No streaming code. Email sent to 3 separate email addresses and yet no reply.
Apart from that everything’s great

As jordanhill jag points out it’s too simple to blame the unjabbed for this. I know plenty of people who have been triple jabbed and are getting it and will then be passing it on. Jabs stop you getting really sick. Other than that we have to get on with it. We can’t keep opening up, locking down , opening up, tier two, tier three, opening. It will kill people every year, just like flu. This culture of fear and scaremongering has to stop. What’s the point of being alive if you can’t actually live?
Around 90% of people in uk hospitals with covid just now are unvaccinated. If people get sick with covid but hardly any were ending up in hospital we would not be in the current situation re crowd sizes etc.

8 clean sheets, but at least 5 of the games were very poor performances. It is not just about results.
It is completely about results. Would you take 36 dire 1-0 wins? Of course you would

Can’t believe some of the rubbish being posted on here. We kept 8 clean sheets in a row. One bad result and our whole team is rubbish. The manager has to go, the 2 centre mids need to go. Our top scorer needs to pull his finger out etc.. absolute garbage
If you can’t handle a bad result now and again go and support one of the old firm

Wonder if the dodgy pitch can take all the forecasted rain?
-
I think we might cash in on Rudden if it’s clear he won’t sign a new deal. Use the money to sign a decent replacement from the lower leagues
-
Looks like the last of the rain should be about 0900. Should be plenty of time to get the pitch playable if it’s not at the moment. Some amount of rain overnight again
-
As I understand it 500 is allowed without having to ask anyone. We can apply to have more than 500 but need to show plans for entry/exit etc.
reckon we have applied for 1500-2000

The Williamson one is strange. By all accounts he has indeed signed at Falkirk which means it was a huge call to play him on Thursday

Some game on Thursday. Falkirk know if they win all 3 the league is theirs.
-
Nothing more Thistle than getting a 2-0 notification quickly followed by a correction 1-0 quickly followed by a 1-1.....
-
Agree with the above. Should either ourselves or Falkirk win the title we should refuse Doncaster entry at the door and then put out a statement of why we did so.
of course the players should lift the trophy. Yea some of them were partly responsible for us being bottom when the league stopped but for some it may be the only title they have/will ever win.

Will be interesting to see how Montrose approach this game, they probably need something out of the game to keep in with a chance of being in the top 5. They have us and then Cove on Tuesday so a couple of tough games for them. If they were to beat us tomorrow they would all but guarantee a place in the top 5 and they may go all out for this and they make the changes for the cup game at the weekend.
As for us I think we may need to make a couple of changes, I thought both Graham and Tiffoney looked as if they were running on empty for the last 10-15 minutes. I can't see Docherty being able to start another game after playing 90 mins yesterday. He may look for Tiffoney so start and give us 60-70 mins and then change it up, and with Rudden getting a couple of goals last night it would probably be a good idea to start him ahead of Graham.
Hopefully we can get away without making too many changes, we're hitting a bit of form and getting the makings of a settled team.
Thursday night to Saturday morning for Montrose. They will need to rest players somewhere. Surely they will prioritise the league game?
-
Interesting to see what Montrose do as they have a cup game at 11.45 on Saturday morning.
can you imagine any of the premiership teams being told to play Thursday night-Saturday morning?
-
Cove are due to go Ibrox in the cup so I hope they are keen to continue. They alongside us and Falkirk would mean the season must go on. Not sure how that works if the other 7 refuse to play...

At the media briefing this afternoon, Jason Leitch said that he thought there were plans to restart training for the lower leagues soon and that discussions were continuing over the weekend and that there would be an announcement "soon".
Sounds semi-promising.
He also highlighted concerns about players travelling to and from different parts of the country. Hope he wasn’t referring to allowing local leagues to play
