Tuppens worth, it might be that the club are doing right by the keown group and if offers come in the club are advising they will not be hard to deal with.

If no offer comes we might again make those players an offer. I'd be happy for keown to stay, hes a prospect at the level we are at and will be interesting to watch his progress. Barton? Like a few posters on here i just can't make up my mind. One game he's hopeless, misplaced passing and light weight, then the following game he appears almost magestic.....i said almost!

At one point I thought Keown was going to be our future captain. Injuries and lack of form have made him half the player he was  in his start with us.

Playing next to the likes of Barton and Devine every week hasn't helped. The loss of Liam  lindsay has totally undone us. To be honest there was no confidence left in any of the squad and we had slipped into a spiral of losing and I think the more of them gone the better. The template for a promotion winning team is the same as the last time we came up, young pacy ,attacking with a couple of old heads.Whether  that can be built in one pre-season ,...... I doubt it.

The first thing we need to do is break the cycle of losing and the mindset we are second best to every team we play. If that means getting rid of as many as possible...so be it

  2. I think huge questions have to be asked over the general fitness and conditioning of our players last season. Never looked to me as if the team was as fit as it could be  not only in terms of stamina , the continual running out of puff the last quarter of the games, but also our strength and physicality. Seeing players like Devine and Barton being continually bullied and pushed around during matches wasn't all to do with them being pansies.

  3. In my opinion the decision is completely half arsed and cowardly. It does nothing to take the club forward. They have given Archie an impossible task. Asking a manager to re build and entire squad from scratch and get promotion in a season is ludicrous and unfair. If they had faith in him as a manager they would have given him two or three years to do so . It is a cop out from making the hard decision to sack him and shows a lack of leadership. Saying "lessons have been learned " is a load of patronising p1sh.Was he not allowed to learn any lessons before. When GerryB said at HT in the Livi match our plan is to get the ball wide and stretch them we all knew what was coming. Left wing ,right wing left wing then a hoof into the middle....same crap all season ,they learned nothing. They have not backed Archie at all, he has an impossible task with the time scale he has.He should have been backed properly with two years or sacked. Lack of balls and leadership.

Today we won a game of football deservedly. For the glass half empty crew a 2-1 win at home to Accies is the absolute minimum a club aspiring to stay in the division requires. For the glass half full brigade we showed a lot of fight, probably got the team selection correct with successful substitutions both in selection and timing.  One thing for near certain I doubt we did enough today to turn the pessimists into optimists but at least at the same time the optimists will not have their positivity dented.  That's about it.

    I'm now pessimistically optimistic

  5. We live to fight another day. Good football first twenty five minutes but without a single descent cross. Our final ball waspoor all day.Fell right out of it after that and it looked like curtains. Glad to see archie left The fish and Dools on the pitch this time .Conners physicality made a difference. Dools scored with about the only good cross we put in all day and from then we lifted ourselves back into it. Edwards strike was excellent and what a relief. We won without any real outstanding performances but dragged our selves back into  it after a poor middle section of the game with great effort .I thought Cerny's handling and fielding of the ball all day was great and one terrific one on one save too. A lot of the same old failings there but we battled and battled until the end. A chink of hope

  6. I feel exactly the same.Nothing used to stop me getting to Firhill but it's an absolute effort to go now.Not only because of results but also the style of football is dire. It may be a higher standard of football but it reminds me relatively of the last days of the Bunnet. It's soul destroying.

Surely you can't mean the endless attempts to get to the wing and cross into the box? After all, it worked in the 1950s. Or was it asking the players that won promotion years ago to dig them out of their hole?

    That tactic !!!!!.........REPEAT, REPEAT,FAIL .LOSE

  8. In the pub and I might never leave.A team and a manager paralysed by fear. Thought the subs were bizarre. The goal an absolute disgrace. Given the current Stats is there another team in Britain that wouldn't have changed their manager by now. Repeat and repeat and repeat the same game pattern same weird substitutions same mistakes same everything.

    That's what's getting to me .

We need to try and get back to the passing game that was our strength. That’s why we need the old guard back. We should get 100% behind the team. One goal could boost our confidence. Even though we are struggling at the moment, there is still time to turn our season around. Mon the jags!

The problem is when we do pass we do everything far too slow. Every pass seems delayed that fraction of a second too long compared   with other teams. We need up the intensity levels that we are playing at for the full length of the match.I fer the worst today and couldn't hazard a guess at what the team, formation, shape Archie will put out but repeating the same failing team tactics and attitude  is not an option.

Well it looks as though he will be staying a while longer since there is no word from Firhill.

If we get the expected gubbing from Killie on Saturday then it's not going to be pleasant.I think we'll  hear some real anti-Archie sentiment coming out of the stands for the first time.I personally don't want to hear that . Some unpleasant times ahead

  11. The teams below us last season have improved.

Archie as a manager is very easy to figure out by the opposition.

    injuries to key players.

Archie failed completely to reignite the team after our disaster in the top six  .

The spell playing Barton in midfield .

    Fitness levels.

Our "Big" signings have been p1ss poor

Lack of a leader on the park.

    All season ,piss poor substitutions.

    Awful team selections

The attitude of the players has been a disgrace

An obsession from the manager of hitting the ball continually from side to side instead of even occasionally going through the middle.

    No Liam Lindsay

    Kingsley.

Not sure if anyone can turn it round now.  Players have chucked it.

    Appoint an interim now.

Get in the right man at season end. He can view the deadwood dispassionately even in the unlikely event of staying up.

totally agree.I don't think it is possible to have Archie as manager on Saturday now. There is no way back .  I would be looking at someone like John Hughes until the end of season ,just about anyone to be honest.

Sacking Archie won't give us a bounce because knowing how our board are they'll never bother to appoint a proper non-internal replacement before the season is out. There's not enough games to persuade anyone to come in for it anyway.

But you've got to think time's up. Conceding 4 goals to Ross County in any circumstances is an unmitigated disgrace and inexcusable.

Keeping Archie until the end of the season is no longer any sort of an option.

  14. My Heart goes out to the fans that went up there tonight. Need two subs and an attacking attitude at half time. If we dont get anything from this then  , and Ive never said this before ,Archie should go ,even at this point of the season.

  15. 1The rendition of Red/n/yellow army after we won the league in the Star and Garter .

2 Alan Hansen rolling in a last minute penalty to win the game 4-3 against the current buns

3 Geordie's winner in the last minute a porkheid. Best away Thistle support ever.
