  1. I had the pleasure of bumping into John a few weeks back, he's still going strong and asking about our promotion chances.
  2. It's Arbroath the season before and the reason for the unusual strip was that the kit hamper hadn't arrived back from Honved. https://partickthistleahistory.wikifoundry.com/season-by-season/season-1972-73/v-arbroath-h-sep-1972/
  3. Bang on, Brown was injured in the next game vs. Morton and never played again. The newspaper reported he was out for the year.
  4. Don't actually know 100%, it is at the piggery and it is Frank Haffey for Celtic. Could by George Smith or Joe Hogan for us.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's a cup replay from 1954 http://partickthistleahistory.wikifoundry.com/page/v+Motherwell+(A)+SC+1954 here's Willie Crawford scoring
  6. Like many others with long and loyal service, they took years to set foot back in Firhill after the way they left. Willie Sharp didn't go back for years and only returned when Bill Shankly asked him to go the 1976 centenary dinner. Jimmy Davidson (still not in the Hall of Fame) left under a cloud as did Johnny MacKenzie. I'm sure one of the first things of the John Lambie era was Donnie MacKinnon & Kenny Watson being shown the door at the same time.
  7. All match reports say Ralston gave away the penalty the picture fits with the narrative.
