  1. The tag interview with him was great, it was him that pushed through the move to us.

Anyone know who the other SPFL club that went in for him were? I have a feeling that it was Inverness Cally as they were looking frantically to replace McKay but that's only a hunch.

  2. I think Jaggernaut has got the right idea. It's gonna take some creative, positive and possibly out of the box ideas to get a solution to please everyone. I think its up to us the fans now to come up with these ideas and encourage fans to get behind them rather than having a moan about the boards obvious mistakes

  3. Here's an idea for "refurbishment of the main stand, which would make it much more attractive to me:

    1) Install several rows of seats going up from pitch level to the top of the wall that separates the front of the "enclosure" from the current front seats of the stand. That way the supporters would have the option of getting a full, unimpeded view of the length of the pitch. They'd be right on top of the action (and right behind the dugouts, Mr. Chairman), and the crowd and stadium would look better on tv when filmed from the JH stand. This could be done at both north and city ends, with supporters at both ends and going back into the central sections of the main stand, where the view is less restricted. Incidentally, this would also increase the seating capacity of the stadium by I reckon around 1,000. It would not cost a fortune.

    2) During matches open the old tunnel to allow supporters in the main stand access to the Aitken Suite toilets, if they desire to use them. Of course what currently passes for the main stand toilets would also be available. Sure, this would require some stewarding inside the AS during matches, and the main entrance closed (but manned throughout in case of emergency).

It seems to me that the board (and maybe the supporters) need to come up with some out-of-the-box thinking on this, so that's my tuppence worth.

    This idea is actually brilliant

  4. As a season ticket holder and regular visitor to the JH stand, I’ll respond to the original post

For me, it makes sense to use the Main Stand for the ‘singers’, ‘ultras’ or generally more passionate supporters among us. The atmosphere created by fans in that stand has been terrific. From a JH perspective, it’s been louder than the North Stand for most of the matches this season. I do appreciate that this may be more to do with our home form. Reducing the prices would also add to the growth potential and I’d like to see the entire stand full of red and yellow next season. It would look and sound great from the JH.

However, it is completely unacceptable to move a growing contingent without prior consultation and, if necessary, a carefully agreed compromise. As supporters, we must not let ourselves be bullied on this matter. On ANY matter.

What makes it a bit difficult, is that there are some inconsistences as to what the North Stand supporters really value. If they really aren’t bothered about their view or the facilities on offer, then why should the Main Stand’s fragilities be a factor here? I reckon the lads and ladettes would make it their own, just as they did with the North. After 2-3 games in there and a nice win or two, we may all begin to PREFER it, not least the players/coaching staff.

What was the feedback from the Celtic games? What was the atmosphere like? I missed the general consensus.

I look for a good view and the added atmosphere when I go to games. The Main Stand would become an attractive option for many JH supporters, which could help swell the numbers.

Over to the Supporters Federation – I hope you get the outcome YOU want. After all, it is YOU who will be most affected.

    Forever and ever…

    Totally agree with you

  5. For the games against aberdeen and motherwell, it felt like we were at away matches sitting in jhs. Their singing sections of fans were closer to more of the players, more of the time, and i think it had an influence. sometimes at the south side of jhs you can hardly hear ns singing section. id like to see how it would work as i think our singing section might have an even greater influence on the players than they do now.

  6. Is this the same Brian Graham who said he was going to do his best to make sure Morton won the league cos they were the best team in the league and would be worthy champions ? Sorry Brian but my memory is a bit better than a lot of folk on here.I for one will not be welcoming you to Firhill.

When he said that he was a former Morton player, and no doubt still friends with a lot of that morton team. Absolutely no problem with him saying he wanted them to win the league. Id expect him to say that hopes Raith Rovers or Morton win the first division next year

  7. Not quite sure what this means though looking at some of his tweets it looks like a lot of Sevco fans want him back there!! Jordan McMillan@jordox24x 1h Season over gutted for ma boys at DAFC in playoffs have more than enough tho I am sure if was my last game for thistle appreciated it all

    Id interpret this as

    Season Over

Gutter for ma boys at DAFC in playoffs (they) have than enough tho I am sure

If was my last game for this thistle (I) appreciated it all

  8. I thought the pitch invasion was great, bit of fun, very civilised, loved going on the pitch.

In my 22 years of attending matches and some of the rubbish we have been forced to watch, it is nice to be able to take part in events like and celebrate the achievement of the players and fans this season.

My mates commented on how well respected the announcements were, when asked to return to our seats, thats exactly what everyone did.

The stewards and police had a difficult task, and i thought they did a great job, common sense policing and stewarding

well done the fans, well done the club, well done the stewards and police

  9. There has been many players that have worn the arm band this season. Only one player that deserves to lift the trophy.

    Has to be Archie.

Fantastic finish to his playing career.

Has to be Archie, not having an Arab lifting it first

  10. disappointing we didn't get the win, however a very dominant end of first half, and second half display. thought lawless made a real difference when he came on, fox's one on one save in the first half was top notch, thought welsh had a good game, dowie and balatoni very solid.

    almost there, one more point
