It is nonsense to suggest that fans let him get away with murder. Many fans (including myself) were generally happy (in many cases with caveats) with the previous two and quarter seasons: a L1 Championship, a 4th place and finishing the first quarter of this season top or thereabouts. The wheels now seem to be coming off, and as this poll suggest, the fans aren't accepting it.

As far for as the Johnny Foreigner reference goes, I (and I expect most other fans) don't care about the owner's nationality. My major reservations were that it was then proposed we become a feeder club to another club. I personally have no desire for Thistle to be a feeder club, existing mainly to further the success of another.

We're 7th in a piss poor league with one of the biggest budgets. We have 21 senior players last I looked. As usual with McCall when we see promising signs the nosebleed is just around the corner and we shit the bed. Yeah, hes not Dick Campbell levels of bad, great, how low does the bar have to be on our expectations? Is it always a case of aye but at least hes not.... We're off our fifth straight pumping and theres a laid back attitude about it. Hes underachieving and has a long long history of that, thats hardly news. Infact that more or less is his history as a manager. A couple of two bob titles with full-time teams in part-time leagues is about his lot.

And aye, you did. You saw outsiders with no connection to the club or the area and started scaremongering that they were here to asset strip us and run us into the ground, its hilarious that people like you are as much to blame for what has actually happened when you think about it. You didn't want "baddies" getting their hands on the club, but look at whats actually ******* happened.  Low played you like a fiddle and you did her bidding and now we're stuck with her, at least until its gets even worse. Not only is it transpiring shes a shit owner, shes clearly not got the grapes to empty a failure of a manager.

  2. McCall has this job as long as he wants. Fans let him away with murder and Jacqui doesn't have the guts to make a decision and sack him. We could get rode again on saturday and he'd be superglued into that job. He'd have been out the door at a lot of other clubs for less, but our fans put up with any old shit if they see an emotional attachment to someone. The club is crying out for someone ruthless to come in and clean the place out top to bottom. Far too cozy and full of stooges and yes men coasting along on sentiment. Shame we had that chance but we drove johnny foreigner off incase he bulldozed the place for student flats, chuckle.

  3. Both of them are shit.

Sneddon is a classic example of the low self esteem that runs rife through Thistle fans. An undersized goalie, who can't kick the ball and makes loads of basic blunders. He made loads last year at the tailend - Accies at Firhill, Ayr at the end of the season, Inverness in the play-offs at home.  Yet hes lauded like some sort of hero. To be fair to the guy, its not his fault people make him to be something hes not. Spend more than a couple of years at Firhill and thats just about enough for legend status these days.

  4. Could have told everyone 10 years ago McCall was a choke artist and yet people can't see past the emotional attachment. Absolute usual from him, shitting the bed when theres a chance to do something. This league is ******* dung, no Killies, Ross Countys or Dundee Utds buying it this year.

We get the manager and team we deserve, when you have people chanting at games slabbering for jobbers like Jamie Sneddon then you absolutely get what you deserve really. Just a sad pathetic loser mentality at Thistle amongst the fans where mediocrity is accepted and people of average talent are treated like martyrs.

And thats just the tip of the iceberg when you consider the absolute charlatans running the club. Seriously alarming whats going on at Firhill just now.

    Here is the problem.

No-one really cares outside of Scotland about Scottish football. Looking around, the only mention of the current events that you might see is in The Guardian. Because it attaches the name Steven Gerrard to the story.

And the reason for this irrelevance  is simple

Scottish football is built on hate.

Celtic hate Rangers. Rangers hate Celtic. Most other "football  supporters" hate the Old Firm. Hearts hate Hibs. The feeling is very mutual. And all those fine folk from Edinburgh hate Wee Gees. Dundee hate Dundee Utd. And it seems that Dundee Utd actually hate each other. People from the City of Discovery regard their neighbours in Perth with utter contempt. Aberdeen hate everyone who is poorer than they are.  I could go on. Morton - St Mirren, Hamilton -  Motherwell, Killie - Ayr - Queen of the South. And who can explain the mystery of Fife?

And on a national level we, allegedly, all hate England.

It is poisonous and like everything when you are addicted to poison it will reduce you and then it will kill you.

And when did hate ever help us overcome adversity?

Did Manchester Utd rely on hate to rebuild from Munich? Did the community of Liverpool F.C. recover from  Hillsborough through hate?

So I'm not going with all this Get the Board. / Sack the team. / Penalise every other footballing organisation in the country because I am angry.

Because, in the words of the Twelfth  Doctor "Hate is always foolish. Love is always wise."

I love my team. I reject all the hate and fear that created  this current situation.

Today I bought my season ticket.

    Onwards

Nothing sums up Thistle more than wanting the moral high ground self righteous cup rather than the actual cup or a higher league of football.

  6. Usual gutless stuff from Thistle. Low and Britton are completely incompetent in a long line of incompetents. It won't be a boycott as such from me just sheer apathy means I won't bother my arse that much.  I've missed loads of games the last two three years as it is.

I love the line gloating about being debt free. Won't be for long with the top six cash a distant memory and with pub league revenue.

This league will be a slog. There's no enthusiasm for me for it. I've seen it all before. I don't think as a club we have the dig or the guts to scrap our way out of it immediately.

We won't sue we are weak. We will do the usual and release a strongly worded statement stating we shall not lie down and will fight it all the way and then do what we are told! Jackie will then put some shit spin on it saying because we are Partick Thistle Family Club that we will go up and down the country to far off outposts and seasides telling everyone about the gospel of Miss Low and how great she is.

You just need to read some of the replies on this thread to see how gutless and weak minded Thistle fans are. Aye let's just get on with it because other clubs also voted to suit themselves even if it costs us our league place and a fortune. We don't want any trouble!

Nevermind the absolute carnival added on because they are scared to make a decision concerning the arse cheeks. We are just a wee diddy easy touch, we'll do as we're told. The fans have said as much on here.

  8. Sue, sue and sue. I don't even care if we lose. Just make it awkward for them. I will happily give a few bob to crowdfund the legal fees and I know I am not alone from people I have spoken to, and get decent lawyers, not just giving some Lionel Hutz who is a friend of a board member or a sponsor a bit of business.

  9. The whole night was a shambles.

From watching that useless **** Fox who might well be the worst goalie we've ever had to Tam "pals with Bannigan so gets away with being shite" O'Ware where do you start with the on field disaster.

Off the field yet again we give clubs a free run of the stadium. Thistle fans being frisked outside yet we give a huge section of the JH to opposition fans. Flares when they score, flares in the concourse of the JH at half time. The experience going to Firhill is ****** rubbish.

I'm sure the useless spineless working group will have a meeting again and make sure it's all hunky dory.

I’m now the same. Pointless expending the emotional energy in this team of losers. I watch Cowdenbeath now and then and genuinely enjoying watching a team of boys earning nothing but looking like they give everything. Watching thistle just sucks the life out of you and makes me feel genuinely sad. As has been pointed out earlier there is a whole culture of cronyism and softness about the club. Being crap is one thing. Being as weak and ridden with the loser mentality is another thing entirely

Cronyism is it to a tee - spot on

The fans have made it clear. They don't want outsiders managing the team or running the club and if they can get away with it anyone with a history they don't like is hunted. Caldwell, Miller, Chien Lee. We are worse than a ******* bowling club clique. Let's bring back Archie, McCall, Doolan, Erskine. Nae room for a coaching job for Balatoni?  The club is all about looking after your pals than actually a successful football team.

Oh and a slight comment about the playing squad. Archie got it in the neck for his honking record of signing strikers but **** me he didn't half sign some utter pish at centre half as well. McGinty, O'Ware, Devine, Piccolo.

    You reap what you sow.

  11. The type of people in charge is much the same as the last time this shite unfolded even though it's a different model. Hopeless civil servants and small time businessmen running a professional football club, badly. The club we deserve really.  Dare it say it the financial problems can't be too far away again either. Anymore legends needing a job? We're a ******* laughable soft touch. I 100% blame the fans.

  12. I am almost convinced that the club is happy being a middling team at this level. We're the quickest every time to make huge cutbacks
and then trot out some poor wee us line to the supporters. **** all ambition as usual.

Any time we eventually go down there's wholesale cuts. Its following the same pattern as last time, downsizing the staff
closing areas of the ground, cost cutting with the youth teams, running with a smaller first team squad. Its just dressed in different ways.

God forbid we have to increase our infrastructure or spend any money to try and get promoted and maintain it.  Any successful business has to take risks once in a while. We give out a signal that we can't give up quick enough every time. See the next time we draw one of the old firm in the cup,
just send out 10 players and give them the whole ground.

  13. I sat in the area they've shut off. It's same old Thistle really. Closed the terracing after the JH was built but it only upset a few. Closed the main stand a few years ago but it only upset a few. Moved season ticket holders for hospitality, but it only upset a few. Give it another 2-3 seasons of being outside the top flight and the north stand will be next. Yeah I can understand the financial argument, but the atmosphere at Firhill is going to be grim next season as essentially it'll be a two sided stadium and it's the continual decline of the experience for the fans. Place was the pits at times when it was mostly recently that arrangement under the Bunnet and McCall especially when the team wasn't playing well. Maybe I'll accept it more if they can fix the lopsided wonky seats and clean the bird shit. Yeah, sadly it reeks of more downsizing and the small time mentality that's been rife for years, just like when we piss around our own fans when a big team comes to town and it feels like an away game by putting our fans second and giving the old firm and Hearts this year for instance the run of the ground, small things like that are part of the weak defeatist mentality of the club. Another empty stand that's falling to bits to look at every week next to the weeds and scaffolding on the bing, presents a pure brilliant image of the club so it does.

    Oh you fool

You come on here day after day slating the guy, and then even we win, find a way to fit another dig into your posts. I'm not going to tell people I'm never wrong,  I've said a lot of things that haven't panned out as I predicted (McDonald for one) yet you are so arrogant that you can't let it go. You make it so obvious that you hold onto the hope that we might actually get relegated so you can come on here at the end of the day telling everyone you were right about Caldwell and you told them so. You're just a ****.

Imagine disliking Caldwell to such a degree that you're incapable of giving him credit for one of the best signings in a decade...

The fact we won is getting right under the sad ******** skin again. Theres an element of folk at Thistle right now who would never admit it, but are hoping we get beat every week so they can come on here and twitter to gloat about how right they were about Caldwell and they told you so.

Oh and by the way, I slaughtered the McDonald signing, it came across as pure desperation to me, but that signing has been one of our best in years and to not give the manager any credit for it is beyond petty, but I'm not surprised with these *****.

Do you seriously think the Jags Zone Interviewer is allowed to ask the questions they would like to ask ?

Whats he allowed and not allowed to ask?

  17. Tonight was a big acid test, was Saturday a mere blip or our run a fluke.

We've done nothing against a nothing mid-table team. Seriously concerning. He needs to start acknowledging the league position now. Harkins has been a horrendous signing and Doolan is utter mince now.
