Fu King heck. Stick to the thread

5 attacking players on the bench today. Same team as Wednesday.

I am aware Gary Miller has not played that many games this season, but he has fairly enjoyed playing against his ex employers - 3 games, 3 wins and one goal. Don't let him sign for an opposing team next season.

Thanks for that. I knew Johnny Carey of Man Utd had represented both the North and the South but i thought he was a one off.
The wee red book has games v Notthern Ireland from 1884, and Republic from 1960. Neither was not formed until 1921. I think there was a united team for a while though

Excellent stuff indeed. Funny how Northern Ireland are referred to as "Ireland".
The date of the game is at the same time changes were taking place within the whole of Irish football. Some details below.
Summary
1880 – IFA founded in Belfast, representing all of Ireland ("Ireland")
1921 – FAI founded in Dublin, representing Southern Ireland ("Irish Free State")
1936 – FAI begins also selecting Northern players ("Ireland"/"Éire")
1946 – FAI stops selecting Northern players ("Republic of Ireland" as of 1954)[3]
1950 – IFA stops selecting Southern players ("Northern Ireland" as of 1954)[3]

Hearts, Aberdeen then Celtic in the same week. What would 3 wins mean to us?

I remember Birmingham supporters being asked weather they wanted cup glory or survival. To a man they wanted to see their team win a trophy. Where is the fun in fighting to stay in an over inflated league, playing dour football in order to stay in an over inflated league.

Great question a real catch 22. Like has been said, win the cup and that team become legends , written into the history books. Get relegated and it can be a long long way back.
Wigan a couple of seasons ago look at them now.
Birmingham City won the league cup, first trophy in their history and were relegated the same season. They played and lost 3-0 to West Brom the weekend after winning the cup ( probably still hungover) Thise 3 points meant West Brom stayed up instead of Birmingham.
The list goes on...
Think I'd still rather the clubs name on the trophy though.

We have won 2 major trophies in 140 years. This could be our year. There are possibly only 3 teams I would worry about, and one of them will be knocked out after the Edinburgh tie. We have a chance of winning a trophy. Mon the jags

Even ever more good news
Former Rangers boss Ally McCoist is a contender for the Kilmarnock vacancy, with Billy Davies remaining the front-runner. (Sun)

Away win

The wide player could already be here - Elliot.
Erskine, Doolan and Lawless playing together, interchanging positions is a great prospect.

On the main its a good wee video although there are a few instances where language is used which could be deemed offensive at best
Definitely sectarian.

Just back from the ground. There is no planned indirection as the pitch is fine and they don't anticipate this changing in the next few hours. all roads surroundung the ground are fine, although Murano St is slightly tricky.

Home win for me

But there is an extra day in February this year.We now play Dundee United twice in 7 days & St Johnstone twice in 8 days, can't beat variety to boost the crowds.
We have 8 games between 30th January and 2nd of March (maybe 9 if Utd take us to a replay) going to put a hell of a strain on our squad
