And as I said, it seems those same folk are happy for the team to fail just so they can say "I told you so".

Some will not be happy until Archie is out of a job. Win 3 games in a row they'll go into hiding. First defeat in 4? They'll be shouting as loud as they can.

I rarely post on here and was content to let last season play out without publicly condemning management and players, despite the writing being on the wall well in advance of relegation.

Yesterday was my first match since Livingston and like 99% of those attending I now have serious concerns based on what I saw. It was in no way different to last season, save for a few new players in the shirts.

I have religiously watched thistle for 30yrs, I feel reasonably experienced and qualified to raise concerns that another turgid season awaits us.

If I were chairman I would relieve archie and his staff of their duties and bring in a fresh manager and assistant. I love archie and take no pleasure in saying that. I think in reality though he'll only be removed if we are in the bottom 2 come xmas.

No-one will be happier than me for him, the club and all our fans if he proves me wrong.

I'll just keep wetting my knickers until it plays out to a conclusion.

Ps. Looking forward to seeing O'ware play, hoping that will lift my spirits.

Based on performance levels today, t's going to be a long and disappointing season.

As for Archie, can you please do your deep thinkng act during the week but get off your fat arse during the game and rant/rave/berate/communicate with the players & show the rest of us that you care.

Watch the Albion rovers highlights. I think he's immune from emotion.

I agree with all of this, but Storer looked like a red card in waiting - and that was without being on from the start. Spittal was just the opposite - no heart at all. Archie's teams have all done the same thing every season: depended on play down the wings with no attacking through the centre. His teams rarely score: go figure. It hardly looks as the players train for attacking play or even for set pieces: the team apparently had 12 corners but couldn't manage to score from any.

It was interesting to hear McCall on the radio afterwards mentioning the World Cup, showing that he had been observing the tactics there. If any team were a guide to lower-level football there, then it must be Croatia, who reached the final by never allowing opponents to settle. For all that Elliott was at fault, he was pressed into making an error, and no-one else in his team directed him or offered support. Even a shout from Bell just to put the ball out for a corner would have been better than taking the ball into the danger area.

Great point, Belll should have been all over it demanding he play it out for a corner.

  4. Started with 7 outfield players from last season.

    Same manager and support staff.

Same slow ponderous style and tactics.

    Same pattern of play.

    Same defensive frailties.

    Same lack of cutting edge.

    Same strange substitutions.

    Same lack of spirit.

    Same result.

So, what kind of starting 11 for wed ahead of our crucial home match on sat?

Let the re-emerging injured get more game time from the start?

Start Scully, Nitriansky, Nisbet and Mccarthey?

    Move Barton into defence?

Or simply stick with another version of same old same old?

  6.

That was bad. Really bad. Woeful in every aspect.

I hope my eyes recover soon.

Worst performance in a recent memory, and concerning that Archie made no attempt to change things until the game was over.

Next 3 games huge, as November almost looks a write off.

Oh, and I don't think the ball was over the line. Didn't think so at the time, and not changing my opinion from watching that gif.

Officials were very quick to award a goal right enough. No great surprise there.

Was the linesman right on the line? If so, I would grudgingly accept I'm wrong.

We lack creative spark when Erskines not playing or not on form. Spittal has thankfully chipped in so far. Without both we would toil badly.

Total lack of composure for most of the 2nd half. Ball retention was very poor, panic hoofs from the edge of our box seemed to perpetuate our play. Scully being a prime offender.

Still, disappointed at only a point against hearts shows where we are as a club. All in all, not a bad place.

We all probably looked at the fixtures and hoped for the odd win or two plus some draws over the first 2 months, but feared a whitewash.

No matter how it pans out, October is huge month for us, as good results against our bottom 6 rivals has been the reason for relatively decent success over the last season or two.

Given we shouldn't expect much from November, December is another important month for us.
