  1. I've got to take my hat off to the shed boys, uberteeb's right, the atmosphere died when the players chucked it, so you can't blame the fans for doing the same.

At the away days you got a crowd of train dwellers, the ian mac's, dave.j's, honk honk's, all those guys who made the atmosphere at an away game, they met up with other folk at the game and had a great day out. From what i saw of ayr, dingwall and dundee, they were the atmosphere.

It was all based around fun, the pleasure of being a jags fan, getting out of the city and singing it loud.

All this ultra **** is a waste of time, it stereotypes and locks people into a certain genre, one which is not welcome in scottish football, unless you're a celtic fan.

What do i say? Well, take a look at this forum, do these lads post on here? Not many if a few. They've moved on and they're on their own forum, joining forces with the boys from the City Centre Bus... They're starting up 5 a side teams, playing each other every week. Organising train trips to annan... Fact is, come the end of july, it'll be these guys we look to, to get their tops off in rain soaked dingwall etc.

These guys are the away day face of the Thistle terrace, and we should be proud of them, join them, and live it! ;)

    ultra's?

    not welcome at firhill.

  2. I totally agree.

But you are forgetting the commandment of some.... "Thou shalt not slag-off Saint Simon Donnelly in any way shape or form despite the fact he's just an average player a decade past his peak". I learned that on the last forum.

makes you wonder though, when you look at the p!sh he was playing around?

started every week practically, was in the posters predicted starting 11 on a friday, and none of them posted in a negative way, they wanted him in...

so here's to next season, more Sid?

Hope so, because if not, it's going to be Keiron!

  3. Clicky

According to the pictures, Scotland jersey had something written 3 lines below the DIADORA logo.

However, all Scotland shirts sold did not have these 3 lines.

    Could you tell me why?

Are you testing people to see how long it takes for their replies to become abusive?

Mod3:-He very well might be - don't fall into his trap...

  4. The season tickets haven't gone up it's the pay at the gate that has but the question is perfectly acceptable. If the directors are expecting pay at the gate fans to pay more are they willing to up the ante on their yearly payment?

Good point, i was reacting to the previous posts re refusal to buy season tickets, blurring every shambles into 1. adding 2 plus 3 and getting 7.

Can I get Tom Hughes' job?

  5. Racism is not an official ideology of the capitalist ruling class. However, racism plays a significant role in the attack on the working class movements.

Capitalism has come to the end. The bankruptcy of US major banks and car industry, national bankruptcy of Iceland and Greece clearly tell us that we must transform the society from a capitalist one which is based on the exploitation of labour, into a socialist one which is based on human needs not profit.

In Britain, all major parties (including SNP, of course) are capitalist. We must build a new working class party which is internationalist, revolutionary, and supports the right to sports of the people.

your written english is right comin on at some pace....

sits back and waits for some pointless thread written in half sentences of broken english.

  6. I have absolutely no idea what if any money the Board have contributed, I would imagine there is some sort of pre-requisite to becoming a director. However, we have seen for months now fans saying they are not prepared to pay £16 entry, isn't it odd that we still expect the directors to shell out when we aren't ?

Not really, it is common practice/a common occurance that if you are a director, then you should support your club financially.

Our directors do, via the yearly fee they pay, what you need to ask though, is that enough?

When a director picked up 35k last year for a "job", that he will now be doing for free, so that we can employ 4 coaches, you need to ask: Who benefits from partick thistle more?

The fans, from watching the product on the park, or the directors from their companies financial gain through meeting and greeting at the clubs expense?

In that respect, i can't fault anyone who says they will not purchase a season ticket.

Has the director's fee increased by the same % as the season ticket?

  7. Great to have them signed up as coaches and i'm not bothered if sid starts and holds his place in the first team, he proved the doubters wrong last season by being an asset to the team.

Maxwell as number 2 though? that i find strange, but if mccall has a very tight coaching budget, then thats obviously the best he can do.

this though, just shows how little these four guys are on:

The Jags supremo admitted the behind-the-scenes restructure was needed to allow McCall to build his coaching set-up with emphasis on developing the club’s increasingly promising batch of kids.

Cowan said: “In the past, Partick Thistle have paid no more than lip service to developing a Youth structure and the coaching of young kids.

“That is now not the case. We are determined to back the manager and, of course, Gerry Britton, our Youth director.

“To allow that to happen we have had to make tough decisions but believe that has been the right thing to do.

“It will now allow us to provide the manager with the coaching staff needed to develop and get the best out of our Youth players

In that, cowan tells us that prentices 35k wage is what enabled us to pay maxwell, hinchy, sid and jaggy mac's wage for this season. By my reckoning, they're probably on about £200 a week! :happy2:

  8. irrespective of the effect this is having on those who attended last season.

what effect will the £17 admission have on stay away fans and non thistle fans who the club must surely be trying to win over?

who in their right mind, who does't go regularly to Firhill, is going to sit on a saturday morning, reading the weekend times and think.... i fancy going to a game today, Mmmm Firhill seems a good shout, who they playing, Brechin City? How much is it £17?

    £17? :o na.... yer awright!

  9. a poll of the forum's members show 40% as season ticket holders but 24% as regular pay at the gate punters...

so what benefit does this scheme hold?

are we going to see a mad rush like never before, for season tickets? or are we going to see less pay at the gate fans attending over the course of the season?

someone above says that the rise in gate prices is 6% and compares it to the average wage rise. good luck thistle...

i predict a further drop in the home and the away gates at firhill this coming season.
