  1. Thougtnt that today, was two nervy teams.  I’d say that we were a tad fortunate to come away with all three points today.. As usual we sat too deep in the second-half ,particularly, when we had a man advantage. However, at this stage of the season it’s points that matter and you’ve got to take them as they come. ICT were a bit like us over the last few seasons, plenty of possession, but very little actual goal threat. At the end of the day take the points and move on.

Given our, frankly, appalling Scottish Cup record over the past 40 odd years the "magic" (such as it ever was) has totally evaporated - from Dumbarton at home, Cowdenbeath at home, Meadowbank (LIVI !!!) at their place, the results and performances have been dire. Also the Cup has lost a bit of sparkle - I'm old enough to remember back to back games against Dunfermline in the late 60s - both draws, both at Firhill. The League attendance was c6,000, the Cup attendance a week later was almost triple that - such was the allure of the Cup back then - nowadays Cup attendances are, by comparison, very poor - not helped by season tickets not being valid as well!

The main interest for me nowadays as regard the Cup is to gaze in amazement at the manufacturing of the draws for each round.

    Oh you cynic you!😀

  3. I unfortunately couldn’t go today and if I’m honest I wasn’t to down about it because I’ve seen us getting pumped by that shower far too often. As it turns out we decided to save our A match for today, by all accounts. Yet another classic victory I’ve missed, but what the hell the Thistle won!

in addition, to the win hopefully this will give us all a lift and it’s definitely a bit of payback for  ‘that’ game!

  4. This game is like virtually every other game I’ve ever seen at Cappielow,  Morton try to boss us physically and a lumpy pitch making passing awkward for both teams. I’d guess  50:50 as you might expect. Think we’ll be alright if we cut out silly mistakes, but I guess their fans will be saying the same.

We look an ordinary side with our third place a reflection on the standard of the other sides. The structure of the side again looked flawed with once more McInroy then Alston offering no threat and no defensive cover. I wasn't surprised that there were gaps in midfield when Stanway went off.

Fitzpatrick had a real off night & Neilson wasn't great either. I prefer Diack to Adeloye who I wouldn't be disappointed to see leave at the window- the same applies to Williamson, McGinlay & MacDonald, none of whom even made the bench.

Doolan's signings have been almost universally disappointing - it will take really good recruitment at the transfer window to turn us into a credible play-off candidates - I'm not optimistic.

Fair assessment if you ask me?
