Playing ok and our formation looks more balanced with Smith on the right allowing Turner to get forward in central areas. However our crossing is really poor.

The goal is down to people following asleep. Looks like Smith was slow to react to the short corner allowing Zannata a free run and shot. Foster steps of the near post and if stays there he blocks what was a weak shot easily.

Sneddon's not the fault for that goal but if that was Cerny or goalkeeper with experience he would have been tearing a strip off both Smith and Foster. With the exception of Foster we lack a vocal leader at the back.

You might be right because I only caught the  goal  when I came back from the kitchen, so I didn’t see it properly, but it did look on first watch that Sneddon took an age to move for it!

Surely the club have to issue tickets and publicise the winning number. If this is the way they are intending to run it, it will die very quickly.

It’s the law they have to publicise the winner, at the very least the winning ticket details.

  3. A very decent performance yesterday  from Thistle and a total turnaround from last weekend. Thoroughly impressed by the response to last weeks defeat at Arbroath. Every one who played played well.

Maybe the SPFL don't agree, but anyone with a modicum of sanity will realise we are still in the middle of a pandemic. There are many people who are still uncomfortable about being in a crowd. Many who will be away at this time of year. There are supporters who buy season tickets who know they can't make every match but choose the support their club anyway. When teams are providing a live stream of a game what possible reason could there be for excluding people who have payed up front to see every game. This is crass even by SPFL standards.

It looks like some clubs are choosing to ignore the SPFL's latest idiotic dictum. I can't particularly blame Thistle for following the rules but would have preferred the club taking the same stance.

    Agree entirely

I've never had much interest in pre-season games, but I couldn't help notice how last night's game panned out pretty much like just about every other game against that lot's predecessors in the last 30 years: a decent enough display by Thistle, with chances to score that don't get converted, then lose an ultimately fatal goal late on. The script was basically written, the players (both sides) just acted it out.

For 30 years read as Michael said in commentary last night 100 years!

My Rangers friend told me on Monday, with a big smile on his face, his team where going to play a friendly against the 'mighty Partick Thistle' and that Gerrard intends to field his strongest team available!

I told him he will need his strongest team!

I am happy we are arranging such games.

Has anyone noticed that our friendly games so far are with 'friendly clubs. That is with the exception of EK, games with clubs who like us have all had issues with the SPFL.  Is this coincidence, given we have all moved on?

Where are the' friendly' games with the likes of Ross Co, St Mirren, Hibs, QoS, Raith, Dundee & Dundee Utd?

Never known this mob to be friendly towards, well anyone to be fair!:shakeshout:

  7. I thought we played reasonably well last night. I never felt that we were in real danger of defeat as I watched the match.

Well, apart from when they went ahead. Which, personally I would put down to a goalkeeping error. Thought, we responded very well to going behind and if any side was going to win the match it was Thistle.

I’ve no idea how Falkirk will be, but based on what I’ve seen of late I’m confident we’ll win on Thursday evening!
