  1. Overall, I thought that we weren’t too bad. Of course, we still suffer from the perennial Thistle problem of failing to take our chances when we are on top. We’re still lacking in midfield whether that’s something we can address during the window, is for others to answer, depending on the finances.Defence looked generally sound, but whether that’s because we were good or they were poor is again a matter for debate. Going forward, we looked decent and always looked a threat if some of our finishing was wayward, to say the least. The game should have been finished in the first-half and against a better standard of opponent, that would have come back to haunt us. Still how many games like this have we lost over the years and three points are three points.

  2. Today’s result was exactly what anyone  even remotely ‘au fait’ either the fate of Partick Thistle Football Club.

Unfortunately, since the Ross County we’ve lost the beating heart of our side and equally unfortunately we’re highly unlikely to replace them any time soon.

We’re now paying the price for the previous boards failed gamble on winning promotion last season. Do people seriously expect us to double down and try that gamble again?

Frankly to do so would destroy our club, financially. That cannot be allowed to happen.  We’ll just have to fly with what we’ve got on the books.

I really wish I could paint a more optimistic picture,, but I honestly cannot.

  3. At the minute I’ll be happy if we finish in a play-off spot. I honestly, don’t think it’s fair on the manager or players to expect anything else this season. The Championship is infamous for being much of a muchness and I think our financial position at the moment will prevent us to a significant degree from competing at the top of the table. Certainly, if what I’ve seen to date is what we’ll see every week. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to win the League, but at the minute that looks decidedly unlikely.

  4. It’s almost a week later and if I’m being honest I still haven’t got over Dingwall deep. As others have said probably better than I’m able to ‘it’s only a game’. However, what that simple statement  of fact fails to capture is the degree of emotional capital you invest in your team and how it provides at the very least the background to so much of the really important things in life e.g. family, relationships etc. and probably most importantly of al memory and remembering. So Sunday’s game won’t forever occasion great weeping and gnashing of teeth, but it will always leave a deep imprint on the soul of every Jags fan particularly those who were there.

Ultimately not good enough, said the minute we took off Fitzpatrick for Bannigan we were being too negative. We then lost a second within a minute and from that point you've brought on a defensive midfielder to defend a one goal lead having withdrawn an attacker.

Going to be a hard slog next season but lets see where it takes us.

Hi Mark, hope you are well.

I was taking my information from the PTFC official page which says ' Concessions (over 65s,students,disabled supporter including carer,16-18 year olds).

Agree that anybody who has any questions about disability access at Firhill Dougie is the best person to contact.

Sorry Robert, but I thought myself until I checked it out and found that wasn’t the case. Incidentally, I’m doing ‘ no bad’ I suppose, keep bugering on and al that. Hope that yourself and your good lady are doing well.

Trying to buy concession and carer tickets for Tuesday night, but don’t know how to do it on line. Anybody had any success and suggestions?

If the concession ticket  your after concerns someone who is disabled in some way you could do worse than contacting dao@ptfc and explain your situation to Dougie MacInnes, the Club’s Disability Access Officer who, I’m certain will be able to sort something out. To be honest Dougie just phoned me to discuss this exact situation half an our ago. It’s made worse obviously by the bank holiday, however we both agreed that it is an issue that needs to be resolved by the clubs admin.

I’d advise anyone who is disabled or acts as a carer and hopefully can offer a simple workaround. Incidentally to ‘ Auld Jag’, Robert I just found out myself that officially a concession ticket only admits one person, but it surely not beyond the wit of man for the club to allow people who give their names to Dougie to be allowed two people in on the strength of one ticket and Dougie cognisance.

Mark Rowantree, Secretary, Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters Club.
