  1. This seems to be a continuation of an ongoing decline over recent years, so I don't think you can lay a lot of emphasis on lack of early signings.

It also comes at a period when we've seen an improvement in the football played and a time of relative success.

So I'm at a loss to the solution.

Maybe the club could start by contacting supporters who haven't renewed over the last couple of seasons to see if there is a clue there.

  2. There must be loads of opportunities for one off functions, business meetings, parties etc.

I think this would be the road to go down to increase usage.

I know someone who tried to book the AR lounge for a party and didn't hear back from the club.

He also tried to book a table for 10 for a Thistle function with no reply. On both occassions he contacted them a number of times.

So a bit of professionalism can only be a good thing.

  3. If the reason for moving fans from the North Stand is genuinely because of the admin problems it creates then surely to come up with the solution they have shows a total lack of professionalism.

In any business when problems arise you look at any number of solutions and assess them for the impact on your customers.

In this case the solution is to suit the club and the customer has not even been considered.

I'll hold onto my JHS season ticket money until I hear the "real" reasons for this.

  4. Still concerned about the lack of a home win. Confused as to why when traditionally it is the case that being at home is an advantage.

Can't question the ability as they've proved that away from Firhill and can't fault the surface.

So if it's not physical, is it the weight of expectation from the home fans causing them to be slightly more cautious?

Didn't expect a lot from the 3 games so the points at Inverness is a bonus, hopefully some of the pressure will be off.

  5. Spot on Uberteeb. I initially had the Celtic game as one not to miss - the chance to fill Firhill, get a good atmosphere going and the slight chance of getting a result was enough to have me excited. However as soon as our board caved to pressure to accommodate fans deemed too troublesome/stupid to sit in the Main Stand - where the away fans of every other club are trusted to sit - not to mention the stupid rationale that they can't be 'surrounded' - just like every other teams fans are at Parkhead - pissed me off enough that I chose this game to 'miss' to get brownie points with the wife by attending some Christmas craft fair nonsense at the SECC. And I don't regret it - I have no wish to attend a game and see those jackey ******** singing their songs in our North Stand. I probably won't even make any effort to juggle the day around so I can watch it on Sky.

Our current Board have done a lot of good for the club and I really appreciate them. This, however, is a total and utter **** up - how anyone can disagree simply because it doesn't affect them is beyond me. FTOF? Nah, not really - roll out the red carpet and make sure they're happy with our efforts to accommodate them. We're back in the top league five minutes and already we're bending over. I genuinely thought we stood for something better than this.

When you do go back to the North Stand don't be singing I'd walk a million miles for one of your goals.
  6. There has been suggestions on here that moving the Thistle fans out of the North stand for the Celtic game is only being done to maximise income.

Surely having the Thistle fans in the North stand at all other games is costing the club money?

Based on the assumption that as very few games will attract a crowd bigger than the capacity of the JHS and the North stand, the costs in stewarding / police etc for three stands must be more than having away fans in the North stand and home fans in the JHS.

  7. Was a frustrating night. Dominated the first 30 minutes and United looked really panicked. Couldn't believe we went in at half time 2.0 down.

More even second half although I thought United gave the ball away a lot,

Would love to see what an in form striker would do with the quality and quantity of possession we had.

  8. With a young team that is playing great free flowing football there will be times when passes will be misplaced.

So accept that this is going to happen.

I heard a couple of "experts" suggesting they get the ball up the park. I assume a hoof to their centre half is more acceptable than Conrad misplacing a couple of passes.
