been a bit quiet on here... I'm missing WJ.

anyway onto business... my mate heard from their distant cousin who he's never met - apparently he's in the know and has it on some authority that he's heard that the panel are still sitting but may have finished, that a decision is imminent but might have been delayed and we may if may not be reinstated/relegated or given some cash or not.

    I wouldn't bet on it

  2. From the BBC...

The summer transfer window for Scottish clubs begins on Tuesday and will remain open until midnight on 5 October.

The joint response group says the new window addresses the staggered start to the new season and need to "strike an appropriate balance" for clubs to strengthen their squads.

While the top flight kicks off in August, Championship clubs are due to begin a shortened 27-game season on 17 October, with the bottom two tiers also aiming for an October start.

The SPFL board has also agreed to amend rules on the existing October loan window so that it covers Championship clubs in addition to Leagues One and Two.

  3. Graham at Thistle was being used as the 'out ball' and that makes it a lot harder to be coming in at the back post for the floating cross supplied by your overlapping wingbacks (last seen - c. SOD + ATS).  He's been doing the job of holding the ball up top and laying off to players cutting inside very well and still managed to appear at the back post for a last minute header too.

He should be a great foil for Rudden and if Zak's attitude is right he'll be put into scoring opportunities by Graham.

  4. Cardle has been running and cycling all lockdown to keep himself at peak fitness, which should aid his negotiation and show willing and determination to other clubs.

you’d have to rate him in L1 with his experience too.

  5. Commercial department in the past few years has pulled off some fabulous deals from companies that clearly just want to support the Jags as there must be very little return on the investment for many of them.   How many in the Jackie Husband or John Lambie have scratching their heads during lockdown wondering where they can find an international Life Science validation and compliance specialist?

I wonder how many billions were redirected from Jags fans vaults to Kingsley Capital Funds in an attempt to "protect and enhance their wealth through access to contemporary and global multi-asset investment solutions"?

We owe a great deal of thanks to these companies and congratulations to the visionaries that introduced them to the One Team In Glasgow :clapping:

  6. Is it at all possible that the SPFLs ability to stage a vote has once again been exposed for the shower that they are. Is it just a coincidence that the Mansell button was next to a picture of Stephen Dobbie?

Well done Lewis anyway, you had a better ‘goals per minutes played’ than Shankland.

You can forget football at Firhill before a vaccine is generally available

We won't be waiting on a vaccine.  We don't have one for SARs, Ebola or strains of Flu.  The focus of lockdown is to eliminate the virus by stopping it spreading.  We are moving into the controlled phase, not the cure phase, surely.

  8. This injustice was forced upon the smaller clubs by the SPFL.  We can't resign from the SPFL or you have no-one to play.  We need other clubs and they need us which is why I wouldn't want to see ANY other team go to the wall.  They are all part, for better or worse, of the rich tapestry and history of OUR football.

As the anger subsides we'll all go back to supporting our team and I hope that the current injustice galvanises us in a way that makes us stronger.  That is what will provide the strength, character and determination to put PTFC back where we belong.

Support the Jags, home and away (but send PTFC the money if you do choose not to attend away games), buy a new scarf to celebrate a new era.

The alternative is self pity and martyrdom.

Just to clarify, when I started this thread I wasn't suggesting conspiracies, just total incompetence.

I'm afraid that's most likely the answer.  The bosses are incompetent and that filters through the system such that it doesn't attract the sharpest minds.

  10. The reason we can't get consensus on what the leagues should look like is that we have diametrically opposed outcomes.

One is the best entertainment for fans and a stable platform to develop Scottish football and footballers in the whole.  Larger leagues (more stable) with minimal relegation but maximum opportunity for promotion (playoffs).

The other is entirely based on greed and serving a TV contract that satisfies the expectation of people outside of Scotland but only serves to magnify the gulf between the holy twins in Scotland; and a handful of clubs clinging to their skirts hoping for crumbs.

The first is all about 'sporting integrity' while  the second is about supporting £380,000 salaries for blazer wearing cretans and leeches.

Of course, as we've seen, the boards of Scottish football clubs are extremely short sighted so we can expect them to come up with short sighted plans that benefit them in the coming weeks and months.  So I'll be very surprised if we see anything that will improve the match day experience for the majority fans in Scotland as a whole being announced by the BudgeGrey committee.

Considering our playing staff are still being paid, it would be nice if they popped some money in!

I know for a fact that players have made donations as well as ex-players, Ian McCall (on more than one occasion) and other employees.

They have their troubles too with at least half a dozen of them out of contract and the possibility that their income will dry up entirely in a few weeks time with restricted opportunities out there.

We each have to do what we can ourselves.

  12. Just £680 to go to hit the first target of £30,000 !

Great company to be in alongside Firhill great, Freddie Frans who continues to the support the Jags and I'm guessing David Thomson QC was either working pro-bono or he's been gifting his fee(s) back to the cause (a couple of times).
