  1. F**K RIGHT OFF! :mad2:

    Apologies, but this thread has really made me angry.

    Partick Thistle is a football club. The only senior, professional football club in Glasgow without any, definite or confirmed, historical or current, institutional association with any one religious, political or social movement or persuasion. That is what makes us special. That is what makes us the real underdogs (or "rebels" if you like the glamour of that word) in this great city. And that, I beleive, is the irreplaceable value that we must cherish and promote.

    F.T.O.F. and St.Pauli.

    Precisely. Forget politics and religion, let's enjoy the football. Who cares if you are a socialist/tory voter/nationalist/christian/muslim/asylum seeker/west end luvvie...if you "get" the Jags, then get along to Firhill, enjoy the football and feel safe that there is no political/social/religious agenda for PTFC supporters - just pride in the team.

  2. Celtic now are the choice club of progressive minded people who want something positive out of football.

    Stopped reading at this point and laughed.

    You'll find that the MAJORITY of Celtic fans are still obsessed by Irish Republicanism and paranoid delusions of centuries of oppression, even the young, middle-class ones I know all like a chant of "ooh-ah up the RA" after a night-out and proclaim deference to Vatican dictats. Disgraceful. Irish Republicanism is a long discredited ideology anyway, because noone actually wants a unified Ireland anymore, especially not the majority of people now living in peace in Northern Ireland. One of the IRA's great cons was trying to appeal to the left-wing here and elsewhere in the world. Celtic fans are still more than happy to sing songs glorifying this dspicable terrorist organisation.

    One of the many reasons why it makes you proud to be a Jags fan...

  3. It is unbearable.

    I don't know what else to say about it, it's just utter shite.

    I'd like to echo those thoughts. Can't stomach much more myself. It needs to change now.

    McCall has clearly run out of ideas. He will not turn this around. He has to go.

    Some of his most obvious failings:

    Willie Kinniburgh. Clearly a complete dud/shite/bombscare. Everyone could see it from day 1. Why was he given a new contract?

    Chris Erskine. Clearly not a footballer. Everyone could see it from day 1. Why was he given a new contract?

    Paul Paton. Defenders must just love playing against him. About as dangerous going forward as my new goldfish.

    Experimenting with the starting line-up every week. And every experiment fails.

    Instead of anyone taking a shot from the edge of the box, or even trying to beat a man, or even trying to play a ball into the box, we play short passes until we lose the ball, the other team break, and if they are any good, score, because our defence is composed of complete carthorses. This has been going on for 3 seasons. Everyone could see it. Why does it still happen?

    A youth set-up, which has never, ever worked for Partick Thistle FC. Why waste money on this which could be going towards the first team budget?

    Someone different in, with different ideas, with an ability to motivate a team.

    Do it now or face relegation to the Second Division. Again.

  4. We have the ridiculous situation of a manager who thinks he is safe in his job regardless of how he performs because noone on the board is willing to stump up the cash to sack him. And why should he be given a full pay-off? If you do not perform to expectations in any other job then you are punted, simple as that.

    MCCALL OUT NOW :angry:

  5. Absolutely disgraceful performance today. Worse than insipid. Not one of our players today looked interested in winning a football game.

    MCCALL MUST GO NOW.

    Enough is enough. He has run out of time to turn this around. Sack him now while we still have a chance of avoiding relegation.

    Whoever is in charge of the club next week: it is a simple decision. Change the manager or face relegation.

  6. I'm a bit confused by this.

    I'm a Thistle fan so I go and watch Thistle.

    I'd never, ever go and watch another league team week in, week out, even if I could play bertie big baws and do a cringe worthy job on the match highlights.

    Even if I did have a fall out with someone. Maybe they told him his commentary was embarassing????

    I always thought Lianne overreacted when she chucked going to games because of the board, but at least that was a falling out with the board (if a little self important), and she didn't naff off and watch another team.

    All very odd.

    Well said. True fans don't throw the toys out the pram and abandon the club all together just because they fall out with another fan.

  7. Clearly, a lot of points above being missed, misunderstood etc. Fair enough, but as I see it:

    Cowan is the chairman of a well-known football club;

    Michael is a diehard fan of that club;

    the club are having a disastrous run of results and are in dire financial difficulties;

    the current chairman, who is also a lawyer, has presided over countless debacles at the club, the current mess being potentially terminal;

    Michael exercises his absolute right as a deeply concerned fan to raise his issues - which are shared by the majority of Thistle fans - with the chairman by email;

    the chairman, normally prone to ignoring just about every element of criticism, justified and otherwise, responds to the concerned fan in an infantile manner which debases himself and the good name of the club.

    Does the concerned fan have justification for sharing this piss-poor response with his fellow concerned fans?

    Damn right he does.

    I would just like to say; do you think perhaps that Allan Cowan's reply shows that he does actually care about PTFC as much as anyone, and on Saturday night was as angry, frustrated and in despair as the rest of us? I can assure you he would have been.

  8. It is really embarrassing that we have to talk about survival not promotion. However, this is reality. The mission in this season is to finish 8th.

    When we have more fans than Hamilton or ICT, we can talk about promotion.

    We do have more fans that Hamilton and ICT. Always will have. Even if currently they are not turning up to games.

  9. OMG PRICE INCREASE OF A POUND PTFC ARE A SHAMBLES

    THE BOD ARE A DISGRACE

    I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO TO ANOTHER THISTLE MATCH AGAIN I AM LIKE SOOOOOOO PISSED OFF AND I WANT EVERYONE ELSE TO KNOW IT I HOPE THE CLUB GO BUST SO I CAN SIT WATCHING SKY SPORTS WITH A SMUG SMILE ON MY FACE FOR EVERMORE IN FACT I'M GOING TO WATCH THE JUNIORS FOR SOME FOOTBALL OF HIGH QUALITY AND GREAT PLAYERS ON SHOW AND HOPEFULLY IF I GO THERE PEOPLE WILL NOTICE ME FOR ONCE BECAUSE THERE ARE HARDLY ANY FANS THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE
