This consultation  mirrors voluntary compliance  with set out guidelines  that have  been in use in England for some time. Interestingly the English guidelines  make it plain that non- compliance  by coach operators will result in legislation being introduced to make mandatory  rules. It may seem logical for the Government  to extend these rules northwards, but apart from less than a handful  of clubs, most football clubs in Scotland  have single digit numbers of supporters buses. My first  reaction was that this smacks of dog whistle  politics at an election time, cheap for the Government, although I doubt that there will be any increase in police resources to operate the scheme. I do wonder if someone thought it a logical extension of what applies in England,  without considering whether or not there is a problem with this in Scottish football.

I hope that the SPFL provides a robust reply, with the average number of busses per club, to demonstrate how stupid this idea is, and also makes it plain that at a stroke it will kill away support at Scottish matches, and will seriously affect small coach operators.

I also think this is the Westminster government looking for ways they can involve themselves in Scottish affairs and undermine the Holyrood parliament at the same time.

Tho' I do go to almost all away games I can honestly say that I go to most venues purely to see Thistle. There should be more to it than that. There should be at least an element of a "good day out" come into the equation. Some places we go to are depressing enough going once, never mind twice.

Would be interesting to find out what away fans think of Firhill as an awayday.

Jim Oliver had put more money in than Colin Weir at the time of naming the stand - he would never in a Million Years look for a stand to be named after him ( despite the fact he actually built one )

The point I was trying to make when I asked who had taken the decision to name the stand was because I didn't think that Colin Weir had "looked for" the stand to be named for him. He financed the acadamy so that was fitting that it was named after him. I wasn't sure it was Beattie who was chair but I wonder if there was some hope that Colin Weir would expand his involvement financially.

    Why is it nasty ?

We are first and foremost a Football Club - you inspire young people by hard work and dedication

Stands in Football Clubs are named after people who committed that to there Club

We live in a shallow society - we should aspire to maintaining tradition and standards as a Club

The stand should never have been named after Colin Weir - its ridiculous

For once I agree with you that the stand shouldn't have been named after Colin Weir (though I will stop just before calling it ridiculous). At the time of naming the stand wasn't Colin Weir's involvement with the club still at a distance? He was funding the acadamy and community football so naming that after him was entirely fitting and appropriate. Who was it who took this decision? The chair at the time I guess.

Reading on P&B it looks like Arbroath always get a good result against Morton. We will need to play well to get anything next week.

On the extra time now being added on to games now, should it not be announced at the game how much is being added on . I know they do it in the Premier, so why not in all games ?

Is that not something to do with there  being no 4th official?

My argument is that why given the very very serious issue we faced on finances would it be seen as “ important” enough to sit at a Board Meeting - go through the decision to sack the Manager - but ( and this is important) actually go to the bother of planning the rushing back from Ibrox to do so - all the time there is a huge thing sitting in the Corner with flashing lights called a £300K shortfall- shouting pick me pick me - Im the key issue

but nope - instead lets plan our hasty return from Ibrox

what does that say about the mindset ?

    unbelievable

So you know for definate that the haste to give McCall the news of his sacking was pre-planned and deliberate? My first thoughts when I heard the timing was that a journalist had got hold of the news and was planning to publish.

Do you also know that there was no consideration of ways to resolve the budget shortfall which in the eventuality of the cup draw was not needed?

You may not find it unbelievable if you were not so narrow minded about the situation. Unless as I asked, you know for certain.

Signed up to this and made my first purchase through the App / Website but it isn't showing up as a donation. I've raised a ticket and tried the chat bot, to no avail.

Purchase was through ScrewFix - any known issues with them or is it just a slow process? Thanks

I've been doing this for some time. Some donations show up within days others appear as pending for weeks and there's a few companies who don't pay out at all. (There may be small print somewhere that lets them off paying.) Screwfix is one I haven't used so not sure what their record is.

So I bought my season ticket ages ago, have received nothing, and I don't believe the club has advised me about how to receive it.

I've tried downloading the app, and while it recognises the sale I can't see anything that actually looks like a season ticket (or which would get me through the gate).

    I must be missing something.

When you open the app there's a green box with what looks like a person with three white lines beside it. Click on that and it should open the details of your season ticket. When you click on those details it should come up with a QR code to scan at the turnstile.

As a PTFC Trust beneficiary, I have received occasional communications from the Trust, including regarding the latest development. Obviously the PTFC Trust communication is nowhere near as good as what comes from TJF, but it does exist, albeit patchily.

As I said I'm a member of all three. I have had no communication from PTFC Trust nor Jags Trust. If you look at their respective web pages there's nothing.

ETA: I must apologise to PTFC Trust. I just found an e-mail from them in my spam folder.

What today's trust deed reforms do is make the trustees responsible for administering the shares on behalf of not just season ticket holders of three years' standing (as was legally still the case until Tuesday). They must now administer the trust for the benefit of all season ticket holders, for all TJF members and for all Jags Trust members. This drastically grows the proportion of the fanbase represented, and the vast majority of the beneficiaries are, by dint of basic maths, TJF members.

Sorry for the selective quote from your post.

I would like to see some moves towards bringing these three (in bold) closer together. As a memberr of all three I have only had communication, on all this, from TJF.  Is it the case that a fan who is only included in one of the other two categories could well be in the dark about the ownership situation?

Ok - in practice there are 5 trustees presumably getting one vote each on PTFC Trust Board ?

Are you just being obtuse or do you really not understand that he majority of PTFC shares are held in a trust which is representing all of its members who are Thistle fans so therefore the fans own the majotity of the club?

I understand that TJF and The Jags Trust are now trustees. How does that equate to fan ownership ?

    From the TJF e-mail.

Today, we are able to share a momentous high with our members. We can confirm that The Jags Foundation, together with The Jags Trust, have been appointed as trustees of the trust holding the majority shareholding in The Partick Thistle Football Club Limited.

    Calm down.
I am not denying that we got lucky with the cup draw and that in order to pay the wages a fan bailed the club out. Of course there are such things as budget errors, but sure bad management. Anyway that is history. The extra income I was talking about was the cash injection from TJF and £10K a month and what looks like an increase in ST sales. I am sure the board are working hard to bring in extra revenue from other sources too. Those are the kind of things to break the never ending cycle of decline you talked about combined with cutting costs which the current board seem to be doing.

Wonder if Gerry leaving is connected?

    #PTFCStatsWatch 👀

    - Thistle defeat Dundee United in a cup match for the first time since 1975, when they also won 2-1 in a League Cup group game. That was actually the last year that the Jags reached the semi final stage of the competition. 🇧🇪 🏆

When was the last time we actually beat Dundee United in a cup game. I simply can’t think of one 🤔 (apart from the Tennents sixes 😂)

    There you go. :)

More than happy to stand corrected if you can point out where it actually said that 3BC purchase of PTFC was legally binding on Fan Ownership..

Legally binding is far removed from never an option. All the discussion at the time was around fan ownership.
