Aside from the comments on Thistle, there were two injuries, 3 subs (I think) and a huge amount of time wasted and the ref added the usual three minutes - infuriates me! Not that we would have scored with more time mind you
-
Boring draw but suppose it will probably be on the TV and a good gate so some money to clear out the dross - Celtic really helping in that respect this year!
The type of game that players should want to play in - the worst offenders from yesterday who couldn’t be bothered against Penicuik should be sat in the stand

I think it is. He picked up a booking in draw with Hearts then another in the replay last season.
If I remember right, he was booked for protesting the stonewall penalty Madden never gave us

I would have accepted a hard fought win today but it was the attitude that just infuriates me - these players have not earned the arrogance to think they can roll over anyone
Our total lack of commitment and professionalism was demonstrated late on when Williamson was put through and was offside. At that stage you should be professional and let the ball run out or give it a nudge the wrong way. He petulantly hit it into the box anyway straight into the keepers arms who took the free kick quickly whilst Williamson was out of position.
Btw, well done to Penicuik today - they could have folded after losing an early goal and then a calamity moment from the keeper but they kept at it
-
Job done but that was beyond awful. Zanatta diving about and then spent more time worrying about his hair being out of place
-
Our complacency since scoring has been a disgrace. After about 40 minutes Fox got the ball and they all walked away with their head down, no interest from any of them to take the ball except O’Ware.
if we don’t get our act together, this will be Culter all over again

Can it be any more negative than what they have been doing this season and much of last? Too many are showing they couldn’t care less about the club anyway so I wouldn’t be accepting their we are not going to try because big bad McCall is giving us an ultimatum.
They are football players and quite frankly if they don’t realise that putting in appalling performances means you could be in danger of being released from the club then they are deluded
Agreed - and a number of these guys need to realise that if they get released from a team bottom of the Championship, their full time football career is as good as over and they will need to go and work in the real world.

It is mid term which will have an impact - I will miss the game but will be watching in wales following every word of the Welsh commentary. Mom the Jags!

I really want to win this trophy - noddy or otherwise, it would lift the gloom which has hung over us recently and give us a decent day out.

Oware Robson banzo and Cole when he came on were really good
disappointing from zanatta today he is better than that
cardle tried as always but had a stinker
gordon and Williamson really poor - the way Williamson let himself be brushed off the ball at the end was ridiculous
plenty of work for McCall to do though a draw would have been a fair result
Agree entirely with the above. Few other observations I had were:
- DeVita has always been a decent player and a good pro, but he sadly looks every bit the ageing player coming back from a long injury layoff.
- McCall clearly doesn’t fancy Mansell and it’s hard to disagree but we are very light up top (and he is on a two year deal so he won’t be easy to shift - Cheers Gary).
- a shame we never managed to hold onto Fitzy as he and Zanatta would have given us incredible width. We look very lopsided and rely on Zanatta to take the game to teams alone.
- somebody needs to have a word with Zanatta about his embarrassing attempts to win penalties.
- another ex-player scores an important goal against us, we must be heading to some sort of record!
We need to give McCall as much time as he needs as he has a real job on his hands. Agree with the point that this is long term rather than the next match being must win etc.

What’s everyone’s thought on next Saturday evening game
I’m really disappointed I’m missing it due to a holiday...but said holiday is in Wales, so S4C it is!
I want to win this competition as we have little chance of doing anything else, although if we put some sort of run together, 4th remains a possibility (hard to see it with such an unbalanced squad though.
Only other Championship teams left are Alloa and ICT, which by coincidence are two sides we haven’t lost to

Sorry, Stephen 1876, but Kenny Miller has a history dating back over 20 years of missing goals when given too much time on the ball. He's been a great goal scorer for club and country but his lack of composure when given time has always been his Achilles Heel. Apologies for appearing churlish. Kenny had an excellent game today especially off the ball and he did take his goal well.
More to the point you're spot on re Bannigan. He was tremendous today. Ok, it's after only one league game but I think the management team deserve credit for playing Banzo more to his strengths. Also McCall realised that the three at the back wasn't working. Easy to scapegoat Saunders but he was the obvious choice to drop out even if he had been playing well.
Also thought Robson did well today. I know he's better going forward and when we went to a back four I worried he'd be a liability. Fair play to the lad he got stuck in and looked more of a full back than I've seen of him previously. Still it turned out well that Penrice replaced him as that was an excellent ball to seal the winner
I don’t disagree on Miller generally but as soon as he broke away today he just looked completely composed, and tucked it away nicely.
Definitely great to see Banzo back to his best today (and he had a good first half on Wednesday too) so a good manager making the difference
Robson was good today as you say and it’s a happy Saturday at last!

Great report.
Anyone else at the game with further views?
Entirely echo those views. It was brilliant to see Banzo running the midfield again. Miller showed all his experience with the goal as soon as he was through, he was never missing, very composed
-
Thoroughly deserved, we looked the more likely even at 3-1

Banzo is back!!!

How's O'Ware looking at DMF?
So so, some decent tackles and clearly in there for his height against a big ICT team. Not going to get us moving forward though.
Good goal from Zanatta but we haven’t offered much else, although ICT haven’t had many ideas either
Williamson’s positioning continues to let him down

The text I received said that White outjumped Saunders. No blame apportioned to Fox.
Yeah Saunders got caught under it but again we failed to cut out the cross unfortunately. Saunders has looked quite rusty in first half

Has Fox been at fault with the goals tonight?
I personally thought Fox was excellent tonight and made several important saves. He had little chance with any of the goals.
Very decent first 60 minutes or so from Thistle but stuffing knocked out of us when O’Ware goal chopped off.
-
Regardless we must be patient. McCall is an excellent manager (and I still like Archie) but they have a real job to do to arrest what has now been a two year slide and with players who are lacking confidence and an unbalanced squad. Getting some experience like Slater and Harkins back in midfield may help.

I’m sorry I missed it mate - you don’t happen to have a link to it do you?
They replay it as a podcast on the BBC Scotland website.
Listen to the show with McCall (on with SoD last week) and Miller the night after each week and they do both come across very well, although I did think Miller had lost the plot a bit last week when he said he had watched the Arbroath game back and thought we played well, just couldn’t see that at all I’m afraid.

A fantastic appointment but we need to see this as a long term project and be patient. He has a very big job on his hands. Whilst I think we have quite a few good players, they are utterly bereft of confidence and leadership, as indeed I think the club is.
Priority one is to stabilise the ship. Although he went down with Ayr and revolutionised then from there, I would rather not see us having to do it that way.

Those two goals sum us up.
Failure to cut out yet another cross and Nisbet gets in between two lumbering centre halves and scores with a powder puff shot.
The second McGinty loses it and then Dow runs from the touchline to the far side of the box without a single challenge. O’Ware tried to run away as fast as he could. Absolute dross.
Continued lack of discipline as well Three times we have the Pars pinned in and Kakay, Cardle and Penrice give away a stupid foul and let them out

What a complete idiot O’Ware is there. The mistake is bad enough but just let the guy get the shot away as we have 85 minutes to get back into it.
The rest of them are so utterly gutless. McCall should take them all a trip to the job centre on Monday to show them where they will be headed in June. A number of these guys are headed for the real world soon
Nisbet was a bit like Shankland at Aberdeen, he had to move on and establish himself. Looks a good player now but not up against much
