We are delaying a signing on the basis of bruising, to ensure there is no ongoing injury, and that means we are signing crocks?
Obviously talking about the 2 already signed smarty pants. De vita looked done in after only 10 minutes on Saturday
Austin would be a cracking signing though so let’s hope all is well and it goes ahead
-
Signing expected in next 48 hours. Medical found bruising around his knee and due to him suffering a previous ACL Thistle want his scans inspected by experts in Glasgow
looks like Caldwell is trying to sign every crock going
de vita
Alex Jones

Definitely need to up our game today but feel it’s one we could win. No doubt Caldwell will go with 3-5-2 but I would prefer to see a change in formation
Sneddon
Williamson, Oware, Mcginty, Robson
De Vita, Gordon, Bannigan, Cardle
Miller, Jones
Subs
Fox, Saunders, Penrice, Palmer, Wilson, Mansel, Galasso

Been brought on to usher through the takeover or block it perhaps

While there’s no doubt we still have plenty time for signings I can’t help but feel slightly concerned at present. We have been promised 2-3 players coming in for the last 3 weeks now and we finally get an 18year old Rangers Kid who has never made a first team appearance. (Shades of a panic buy to me as I know he seen the boy for the first time the night before at a bounce game at Murray park)
lack of signings -17 currently signed but this could be argued as 16 as I don’t believe Callum Wilson will be a first team pick. I believe we are currently 3rd bottom in terms of signed players. Our squad depth is non existent.
lack of quality - this for me is The biggest concern. Only my opinion but Gk slots, big Tam, Stuart Bannigan, Joe Cardle (if he plays him) and Maybe Senior Citizen Miller have the quality needed to be part of a league winning side. We have zero pace and only Cardle who has any Attacking creativity. We are way off a Championship winning team and need to add real quality to even think about challenging. GC has said we have a very strong first 11 but I couldn’t disagree more unfortunately.
Add to this the failure to sell hospitality for the Airdrie match and failing to generate much interest in the second meet the manager night. Are things really ok.
Time to be concerned?

What kind of player is he, anyone know? (I know he plays midfield but is he a Fitzpatrick replacement (winger/attacking midfield) or a solid ball winner who can distribute?
He’s a ball winning midfielder who does the simple things well..
The boy Ayr signed is an Attacking midfielder who is technically very good

51 pages of utter guff and one man acting like a 5 year old suggesting he’s ITK but can’t say..Well how about just saying nothing.
one thing is for sure when this season starts to go wrong like lack of signings, type of signings and ultimately results. This will be the exact excuse used by those in power.
lets all act like adults and show a little patience until something is actually happening

If all the reports are true and we are selling Fitzpatrick to Norwich for £350k plus add ons....I think the asset strippers are already here ....our board are dreadful
Especially if there isn’t an immediate loan back

From the Daily Record website:
"Norwich City have finally thrashed out a £350,000 plus deal to sign Aidan Fitzpatrick from Partick Thistle.
The talented 18-year-old was given permission to travel south.
The Scotland youth international is set for talks and a medical in East Anglia.
The playmaker – who was attracting the interest of both Celtic and Rangers – has been the subject of multiple bids from the Canaries over the last two windows.
They look to have finally got their Firhill target after they tabled an improved deal with substantial sell-ons and add-ons.
Jags boss Gary Caldwell will hope it will give him additional funds to push for promotion from the Championship.
Fitzpatrick is likely to go into the Canaries under-23 side in the first instance, alongside Scotland youth keeper Archie Mair who they signed from Aberdeen earlier in the window.
The Carrow Road outfit also have Scottish international Kenny McLean who is a significant member of the team that won the Championship."
Surely playing him in a potential championship winning team is better development than sticking him in their under 23’s
i would imagine that Fitzy would of preferred that also.
we should of demanded an immediate loan back as part of the deal.
poor again from us I feel as his style will be hard to replace
-
I thought it was said at some point we knocked back a 7 figure sum for him

To be fair, the guy is playing in what is effectively the English 10th division, that’s a hell of a step up for any player, I’m surprised we took him to Spain rather than brought him in for training this week
That was my point really..if we don’t offer deals to the other 2 then it was all a waste of time and makes you wonder about his plans for the season or maybe lack of. Luke Wall has also been plucked from the Lower leagues so not holding much hope
-
Sam Scrivens hasn’t been offered a deal even though his old club posted that he had signed for us so that’s one trialist we took abroad not signing..unsure on the other 2
-
Sam Scrivens is one of the Trialists and he was one of the scorers yesterday..Another English club looking to sign him also
-
Someone commented on Twitter that Islam Feruz was one..Could be nonsense though

Don't think Fox would want to be a back up.
It was a bit tongue and cheek...left to better himself comes back second choice

I would like to see
GK (back up) - Scott Fox
RB (who can also play DC) - Jack Mcmillan
DM (total ball winner) - Ross Mccrorie (loan)
AM (number 10) - Scott Wright
Winger (cover for Cardle/Fitzy) -Keillor Dun
ST (must have at least 3) - Rudden/Murray/Shaw

31 days till our first game , hardly a 7 week pre season ? one new first team signing Ryan Williamson from last year , no forwards, one first team goalkeeper,
Interesting times
He’s obviously meaning 7 weeks until first Championship game which is August 3rd..Bet Fred games must be part of pre season..Also slightly concerned on lack of strikers..I believe Lewis Mansell will be announced tomorrow
-
pre Season starts tomorrow with all the players in for initial testing
-
Partick Thistle have held talks with Michael Tidser about joining the club.
The midfielder signed a pre-contract with Falkirk but had an option to void if they got relegated, which they did.
Understand he met with Gary Caldwell on Wednesday.
From journalist Euan Booth Robertson
-
Kris Boyd signing in the next couple days supposedly

I’d rather get young boys from lower league teams signed up than have a glorified OF colts team is disguise!
The whole point of the thread was to get everyone’s suggestions on positions needing covered and who they would like to see at the club..Give us some players from the lower league you think would help..I just want success at my club not too fussed on who delivers that

would like to see Austin but I’m sure Caldwell said the Utd game at the earliest for him.
We should certainly be looking to win this so here’s hoping for a big support and a good performance.
