Would agree with all of them except Kris Boyd. Would want a hefty wage and would be a short term solution. Would Rangers and Celtic be willing to loan out Mebude or Dembele. Joshua McPake (Rangers) is also quite a good player. Because I think all 3 of them would add to the team.

Hahaha that’s why he got a big Maybe..Think if he’s up for it he could score a barrel load but I think he only managed 4 when he was in the championship with Rangers.

james mcpake would be a good signing..Potentially Myles Beerman so we have competition for Penners

  2. What Positions need covered?

Who do we want to see at our club?

Right and left back, centre back, defensive midfielder, creative midfielder (no10), winger, x4 strikers..For me this is the minimum required.

Jack Mcmillan (Livi - RB, Utility player)

    Anthony Ralston (Celtic - RB)

    Frans (Dundee Utd - DC)

Ross Draper ( County - DM)

Scott Wright (Aberdeen - Winger, No 10)

    karamoko Dembele (Celtic - No10)

    Aaron Doran (ICT - winger)

Davis Keillor Dunn (Ross County - Winger)

    Zac Rudden (Rangers - St)

    Ollie Shaw (Hibs - St)

    Adedapo Mebudo (Rangers)

    Kris Boyd (Killie) - MAYBE

  3. A section of our support need to chill out. We slated the club for not making big decisions and now we slate them for making big decisions. We slated them for being silent and for hiding and now we slate them for coming out to show us their plans.Could the Doolan situation been handled with a bit more tact absolutely but nobody has died let’s chill out folks.

even the biggest Caldwell hater can’t deny an upturn in our fortunes from January. He’s most definitely recruited better (Harkins and Roy excluded)  and I for one am excited about who he will recruit this summer. Is he arrogant and hard to like absolutely but I couldn’t care as long as we’re moving in the right direction.

The club needs a complete overhaul and it  needs  its fans behind it. Let’s move on and look forward to next season.

    cmon the Jags

  4. Honestly some people on this forum need to get a grip.

We slated the club for not making difficult decisions in the past and for me this makes total sense.  Also did anyone think that it might be Doolan himself who made this decision.

finance will be tight and it’s time this squad has a complete overhaul. We have zero room for sentiment.

Not a chance that will happen.

Dools and Skippy up front (justified imo).

Spittal, Slater and Banzo (when available).

All are stick on starters, and probably rightly so.

Given the above, where do you fit in two wingers, neither of whom track back?

I will give you Fitzy but Cardle was constantly tracking back today.

if it was me I’d drop Slater and Spittal and play Harkins and Brannigan in midfield with Cardle and Fitzy as out and out Wingers with both MacDonald and Dolan up front.

    Straight 4-4-2

    its all about opinions

  6. Why is it that every Thistle fan knew today’s starting line up was wrong but Caldwell never. As soon as Cardle came on he completely changed the game. If Fitzpatrick and Cardle started I would hazard a guess that we would of won by some margin.

Elliot and Penrice are not attacking wing backs their final ball is shockingly poor.

Harkins showed some wonderful skill at times and Mcginty (Yes mcginty) was excellent and really took the game to Alloa. He would of been my MOTM.

Caldwell obviously doesn’t trust the defence and that’s why he goes with 5 at the back. He also puts to much thought into opposition and tactics.

Can we please just start Cardle and Fitzy and let’s just take the game right to the opposition...Teams can’t handle them

  7. I keep hearing how good a signing Saunders and Anderson have been but does anyone else think our defence is very weak at times

i think we look like loosing goals every time the opposition attacks and I’m not convinced on Hazard either.

caldwell seems to be setting us up hard to beat but I think we need to play on the front foot as that’s what we seem best at especially when we play Cardle and Fitzpatrick

For me we need to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 and stop changing the team and set up most weeks

  8. If we go with the same line up as last time he should be sacked immediately but even GC ain’t that stupid.

attacking line up with an attacking mentality is what’s needed from now until the end of season.

Agree the wee Jolly has put added pressure on the run in

Today and every other game until we’re safe is HUGE

  9. With Falkirk beating Ayr on Friday yesterday’s win was massive and started a huge week Perfectly for our club.

On Tuesday he has the chance to take us to Hampden (McDermid Park?) where we would have a great chance to reach a Scottish Cup Final. “Oh how we would all love that”

On Saturday as we head to Falkirk  we could  be 4 points behind if they manage to beat County on Tuesday which means by 16:45 we could be 7 adrift.

I suppose every remaining fixture is huge but with the Cup thrown in this week Caldwell has a chance to maybe turn even the most critical supporter into a fan of his.
