Not sure what was going through Fitzy’s head today , terrible attitude, take on board the state of the pitch but he should look at his team mates BG, Robinson, Lawless etc to see the work they put in

Fitzy is undoubtedly a talent but never going to go to the next level unless he addresses fitness levels and work ethic

I reckon coaches will have been telling him to improve his work ethic , fitness and attitude since he was about 13 . You either have the desire or you don’t and he doesn’t .

In a sort of perverse way making such heavy weather of the win highlighted just how well organised our back line was. No way the back four should've had so much work to do later on but at least there's one area where we've improved no end. I just can't understand why our more advanced players lose possession so regularly. We're constantly desperately hanging onto a lead when we should be seeing games out with much more ease.

I think it’s a mentality thing that seeps through the whole team . When we are level or behind in a game we are looking to go forward and score and ( sometimes ) look a decent team .

When we go in front the whole focus changes to not losing a goal . We sit deeper and deeper , do not retain the ball , don’t attempt to build sustained pressure .

This is something that needs a change of emphasis / attitude , and that needs to come from the manager .

    Just back from that.

Actually played well in 2nd half.  Our pressing was so much better than at Hampden.

Ref was really appalling   - Ross Hardie - remember that name!!

Agreed - much better than Friday .

Thought Milne , Neilson , Lawless and McInroy  were our best performers .

Willians looks nervous about taking his man on .

Just timed that goal from the highlights as a shade under 10 seconds from the kick off.

Your point about Adeloye may have merit. I'd have thought he'd be better dropping into midfield than the less mobile Graham. But then again if there's doubt about his work rate .

Not just his work rate . He is clearly not fit enough and is not very good at playing  football .

Imo that a bit harsh on QP. Pretty obvious they're a well coached team & tactically they knew exactly where we were weakest. But boy were we fortunate to leave with a point.

Totally agree . QP were the much better team - they had a shape , new what they were trying to do and had players who could control a ball and play a pass .

We were shocking and lucky to get a point .

Biggest thing for me GRE is the criticism of a game you’ve haven’t watched and any time we’ve got beaten the manager is out his depth etc

Doolan is a young manager learning his trade and he has/will make mistakes along the way , he should be given time to progress the Club , if it doesn’t work out so be it .

People in football know he’s a fantastic coach and hopefully that translates onto being a good, progressive Manager.

    Exactly .

So I am not a supporter because I live in Warrington and would have difficulty getting to Glasgow regularly. Interesting view especially with a Nomads group

No not at all - that is not my point .

My point is the other poster takes every opportunity to decry the team , the manager and the club generally - whilst not attending games .

I fully appreciate we have fans worldwide many of whom can only attend games in person infrequently .

A disappointing result is happening all too often. Its not just about the result. The performances are pretty bad. Even when we have won, we aren't totally convincing. As said by a few on here, Doolan doesn't seem capable of changing things when we fall behind. We seem to down tools when we are behind.

Doolan 's recruitment has been very underwhelming. He hasn't addressed our real problem area in midfield. And he constantly keeps playing Bannigan. Signed players who have historic injury problems.

Regards attending Firhill. What relevance is there to this discussion?

There are enough media outlets to see action from Thistle games and commentary to glean what is actually happening with this team.

I notice you avoided answering re your attendance at Firhill by using the old technique of answering a question with a question. In my view it is relevant because you are probably the most ardent exponent of wanting the manger sacked at every poor result and yet you seldom attend games.  I appreciate you can view games via other mediums. Call me old fashioned but I think a supporter is someone who pays their ticket money and watches their team live.

    Anyway you bash on.

A short period? McCall certainly wasn't sacked after a short period. And he thoroughly deserved the sack with the mediocrity he served up with a more than healthy budget. But if you are happy to accept the mediocrity on offer, then bash on!

If you read my previous post you will note I suggested Doolan needs to be given at least 2 full seasons to put a plan in place and implement that plan.

Meanwhile you can " bash on " about wanting people sacked whenever we have a disappointing result.

How often have you been at Firhill this season?

It's becoming clear that Dollan is out of his depth as a manager. Who we replace him with? Difficult to say.

Can we afford it? Probably not.

We will probably have to stick with him and cross our fingers and toes that play offs are achieved.

Quell surprise - you want the manager sacked.

Just as you wanted McCall sacked.

Sacking managers after a short period in charge will just result in a spiral of mediocrity.

We need to put a plan in place and stick with it for at least 2 full seasons. The Manager should be clear what that plan is and the "supporters" should back him.

We are an average club in a Scottish context . We have no divine right to success .

Doolan is a young inexperienced manager who is no doubt learning as he goes along . I for 1 think he is an intelligent person and good communicator and I believe he has the respect of the players. I would much rather stick with him than change for some journeyman manager - which is all we could expect to attract.

    Is Doolan a young McCall?

Is your answer to every bad result to sack the manager ?

Doolan is a young manager in his first full season - he is learning and will undoubtedly make mistakes . He is clearly intelligent and will get better . As supporters ( the clue is in the word) we should be getting behind him and the team - not using every opportunity to snipe and make smart arsed remarks .

I am all for constructive criticism but comments like “ we’re not very good “ are completely unhelpful.

Anyone care to explain the meaning of "logistical support". Not meaning explain the term in the broader sense, more in terms of this specific advertisement.

I suspect it means not just money but support in terms of facilities and how best to utilise the money available to the greatest effect .

The English FA Cup final had a similarly ludicrous handball decision given by VAR. The rule/interpretation is terrible, but its been like this all season. The one tiny consolation from yesterday is that we won't have VAR spoiling the matchday experience next season (cups/possible playoffs excepted).

I think the Grealush  handball was a penalty . He jumps - both arms go up as is natural when you jump - both arms  then go down - he then raises his left arm and the ball hits his hand . There was no need for him to raise his left arm ,it was in an unnatural position.
