  1. I'm thinking of going round the Northy at half time v rangers with the bucket for a collection to help reimburse the lads for their efforts. Thoughts on this please.

I will give you a couple of quid when I buy my 50/50 tickets, you may need to remind me though as my memory aint what it used to be,lol.

  2. This bunch of lads play very well together, what concerns me a little is the lack of height anywhere in the team, last night was a typical example of what happens as a bigger/stronger/sleekit team bossed the game for the first 45mins,they seemed to run out of steam and some tactical changes altered the complexion of the game. Not having a commanding Centre - Half in the Linsay/Henry mould is a big disadvantage and without Kevin up front there isn't a lot to gain form any high ball, hence the need to keep it on the Deck.

  3. Amoo wasn't playing in his usual position. He is normally trusted by Archie to come on and add to the defence as well as get forward so don't know where your comment about not covering back comes from.

The big man only tracks back in his own channel,he doesn't fill in spaces,it was exactly the same in the Hamilton game,i like him but he doesn't cover back,if you don't see that then you need to join AA and co on the sidelines.

  4. If we supporters can see this, then why can't the management team?

    .

Yes,once again an opposition manager makes changes which we make no effort to counteract,we bring Big Amoo and don't play the ball in front of him,we all know he doesn't cover back well so we hand the opposition an advantage.

  5. Thought David Wilson was the best player on the park, knocks a lovely long ball.Have to agree that the Referee was shocking, could not believe the "No Penalty"descision,he then started flashing yellow cards all over.Difficult to tell how Adam Barton will turn out, played centre mid - field, good in the air,but didn't make an outstanding contribution, heres hoping. The Team knock the ball around well, made things difficult by losing a very soft first goal, something you don't want to do against any St Johnstone side, but they stuck at it and were very unlucky to get nothing out of the game.

  6. Think some of this lies at door of someone within Thistle.

At Airdrie, heard that stewards said Airdrie had been told by Thistle about 500 Jags fans would turn up. There was about double that.

At Firhill on Saturday in the Northy, they ran out of all hot food by one minute into the half time break, and all mince, steak, chicken pies etc had gone long before halftime whistle. Apparently, someone at Thistle had told the catering people only to expect a "couple of Jags fans" in the Northy. I'm guessing they meant a "couple of hundred" but even then, that's drastically underestimating turnout again.

So, wouldn't surprise me, if someone at Thistle has already said to Stenny we'll only bring a few hundred. Again, seriously underestimating the Jags support.

It's not as if we haven't seen it before, off top of my head, Dingwall, Tynecastle, Dundee, have all seen us visiting in substantially larger numbers in past few seasons as I've found out by talking to and finding stewards surprised by our turnout as they'd been advised by Thistle of much lower numbers.

Stenny will have to open the terracing for us, simple as that.

They ran out of hot food in the JHS also, they seemed to be surprised by the attendance.

  7. Our generous benefactors are on record as saying -

"On winning the lottery almost three years ago, we made a decision not to speak publicly about any aspect of our lives. We are not celebrities, nor politicians, nor public figures. We try to live quiet, decent lives just as we did before."

Perhaps the club will show greater empathy with the Weirs' sentiments, avoid putting them in awkward positions and not proceed with any further ostentatious acts of gratitude to draw these good people into the public eye.

I also have reservations with the club for the misappropriation of the word "patron" and asserting it as a special title or elevated position. While the Weirs can be addressed as "patrons" and their contributions, for which I am sure we are all supremely grateful, maybe exceptional in their size and significant in what they facilitate, the lesser contributions of many fans may be no less a sacrifice to them and should entitle them to similar respect and gratitude. I have little doubt that Mr. Weir himself would be more comfortable known as a "fan" rather than "patron", and one who like many others have given and paid considerable portions of their own personal "fortunes" to the jags cause. Furthermore, I suspect, despite the phenomenal proportion of his gift, he may feel some embarrassment at the suggestion he is the "first ever" to have generously donated to, or for that matter, been a customer of the club.

No jealousy of those who can afford a season ticket, just a word of warning not to disrespect the PATG punters.

And of course the elephant in the room .... the Weirs' well known political persuasion, the SNP and Scottish independence. Not a problem to us... come on in, what ye drinking? You buying? triffic!! I'll have a pint, thanks. Make yersel at home, I'll grab ye a cushion and you put yer feet up. Put on yer jags scarf, relax and watch the game..... Sign the guest book.... ,muckin in and helping with the clear up is grand.... just not so sure if carving your name in the table is a good idea even if the current boss told you to do it (he's having a rerr terr on your tab and might be a bit pissed). We've a got a reputation to keep..... Here, have ye met ma pal, he's a disgruntled unionist, but he's been comin to Firhill for about 30 year, ....mon i'll introduce yeez....

    :fan: :fan: :fan: :fan:

Don't understand the need to bring politics into it,poor show.

  8. So, what's your solution to our No 2 goalie position then jaggy?

Trouble with Ryan is that he fails to Command his Goal Area, his positional sense is sadly lacking, his clearances aren't great,he invites opposition players on to him with his kick outs.He had all these deficiencies when he played with The Development Squad where he lost a couple of really silly goals with him loitering on the ball.He is good close in shot stopper but the more time he has to think about things the worse he is,honestly I think PaulGallacher would have been better these last few games. He has been given the chance to shine and he has been shown not to be up to the task which is unfortuneate for him and us.I thought that young Marc Webster is/was the better option but I believe he is off to pastures green.

  9. I thought Pogba played well, his link up play with Amoo was excellent.

His header was decent enough, not a lot of pace on the cross.

    He just needs a goal.

My only concern with him is that he seems to be burst after an hour. Definitely think he brings something to the team though.

One last thing, although Lindsay is a great prospect he could do with sharpening up a bit. At times he's a bit ponderous with his decision making and slow to react.

Yep,thats why Wigan took Jack Henry who is half a yard faster.
