Against Livi in their smug 2000s “ooh we’re such a family club” period, the chant “you’re going home in a people carrier” (as opposed to a f**king ambulance) was pretty funny.
When we came up to the SPL under Lambie and were trouncing Dunfermline 3 or 4 nil, “You’re suppose to be quite good” had me tickled.

So what was the formation in the end?
McMillan played defensive midfield in front of a back four of Penrice, Saunders, Anderson and Elliot. Slater and Spittal were in centre mid with Cardle and Storey as the wide men and McDonald up front.
So it was 4-1-4-1 or 4-1-2-3 depending on how you look at it. Or mibbes just plain old 4-3-3.
Thought McMillan was decent in midfield though a bit frantic at times, as if he wasn't used to being in there (understandable) and wasn't quite sure where he needed to be. But on more than one occasion he covered well at RB when Elliot had gone upfield (and Storey had lost possession, usually).

Alloa, Ayr, Falkirk, Morton and QOS do not have undersoil heating.
Thanks. I was meaning of the teams who are playing at home today but I didn’t word it very well.

i think the game will be called off
Am I right in thinking that of the Championship teams at home, Alloa are the only ones who don’t have undersoil heating?

Bell to St Johnstone on loan. BBC website.
The lack of mention about this from the club strongly suggests there’s more news to come today and they’ll announce it concurrently.

Slightly disagree. Boyd came on loan to us initially before signed. Looked a decent prospect but picked up an injury that kept him out for a longish time for one his age. This was a guy that in the most crucial period in his development received next to no coaching at Firhill under Campbell. Indeed it was probably DC that signed him at County? The fact Boyd has since gone on to play far more top flight football than our Club have managed (and still counting) says a hell of a lot for the lad.
I don't believe it can be emphasised too much just how much of an uphill struggle it was for a youngster unfortunate enough to be at Firhill during the Campbell years. So in my book Scott Boyd is a real credit to himself.
I completely agree that it was impressive how he managed to develop. My point was that I and others certainly didn’t really see it coming but yes, the Bunnet’s methods were no doubt a factor in his lack of development, as his own commitment and better coaching were no doubt a factor when he blossomed elsewhere.

My recollection is that Boyd was absolutely terrible with us and very few saw the merit in keeping him. Cue much astonishment at him developing well with County and ending up to be a fairly capable player.

Just a little birdie tells me
Your birdies have been pretty accurate recently. Shame. I’d rather he stayed and produced the goods we know he can.

Think he may be off
What makes you say that?

Nice interview with him here
Nothing we didn’t already know, but he continues to speak well about the club.

You are absolutely correct - completely forgot about those two due to their enforced absences.
Easily done!

I get the impression that Archie's signing policy got pretty desperate after we hit top six. Us humble posters will be unlikely to know the reasons why it was that way.
He brought in some real dross (Craig Slater excepted) last summer.
Out of the lot of them, Coulibaly was the one that was impossible to fathom. We needed people to produce immediately and he brings in a guy who was in legal dispute and hadn't been able to play competitively for a year????
I agree with you in the main but think that’s slightly overstated. O’Ware was an excellent signing and I also really liked the look of Gordon vs Falkirk in a holding role, right before he got injured.

If our ex-manager wants to install them, there might be exclamations of “Archie grout!”

There’s audio of an interview with Caldwell on the Dunfermline site: https://dafc.co.uk/story.php?t=Managers_Post_Partick_Thistle&ID=10985
edited to add: He says the Mutoumbo substitution was tactical, which surprised me. He took a knock early on and was then, er, economical in his commitment IMO, so I thought one of them might be the reason.

There was no way that 2nd goal was over the line but I’ll gladly take it.
Lee “fandan” Robinson’s late elbow was a shocker. Clear red if the ref sees it but he was sleekit enough to get away with it.
Superb wind-up cameo from Quitongo.

I caught myself looking at the league table thinking, “if we win and Alloa Falkirk ends in a draw, we’ll be up to 8th”.
Eighth in the Championship as a best case scenario for your Saturday! It’s amazing what football does to you.

Could it be Scobbie and Elliot as full backs in a back four, with Penrice and Brannigan in centre mid, then three more advanced midfielders (Erskine, Fitzpatrick, Spittal) supporting Doolan?

Thanks Jaggy

I see there was an update interview with O’Ware on Jagzone.
Are there any subscribers left who can summarise what he said?

Whilst I would never wish an injury on one of our own players and obviously wish Bell a speedy recovery, this could work in our favour as he hasn’t been very good.
C’mon the Jags!!
That’s a much more tactful way of saying what I was about to post

You forgot to add: “...and each other”.
The level of interaction here makes Fox News look nuanced. I barely visit nowadays and whenever I drop by it’s clear I haven’t missed much.
