  1. Just watched the highlights, mainly to check if the 3rd and 4th Dunfermline goals were legit.  Fair play to the officials, both calls were correct.  Never been a fan of Conner Murray but thought he played well yesterday, hopefully this will be a big season for him.

Clearly that defence needs a lot of work between now and the 31st July.

  2. ******* hell, we were doing great until they equalised against the run of play. Then the roof caved in.

No idea if they're 3rd was over the line, I'll bet the same applies to Madden who couldn't wait to look clever when the Dunfermline hands went up. He may well be right, not much complaint from our defence. The way we've been opened up from the 30th min has been a bit of a reality check.

  3. Sad news indeed. Horrible cruel disease. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Reckon Bertie built the best Thistle team I've ever seen in the mid to late 70s.  Some great memories of those days.

All the best to Bertie and his family.

Proud to be one of the (currently around) 3% of people in Japan (population around 150 million) to now be vaccinated against Covid-19 (well, first of two jags now in the bloodstream; second to follow in three weeks). One advantage (?) to being an older b*st*rt.

Slowly educating the general public here about the word "jag" being the proper noun, as opposed to "jab" (ugh!) or "shot" (double ugh!).

ETA: As my chances of surviving the upcoming season are now supposedly increased, season ticket will be purchased tomorrow!

Glad to hear you've got your first jag.

Is there any particular reason Japan is so slow with it's program?  Would've thought they would be on the ball with this.

    Billy Gow (65)

Taken to my first game in the 61/62 season by my grandpa. Been a regular ever since and my sons were members 4 and 8 of the first Junior Jags incarnation back in the eighties.

Now full circle and take my oldest grandson. Both season tickets in the JH.

Living in Hamilton now after sojourns to London and Manchester.

Wow Billy Gow, as I live and breathe! How you doing mate. Long time no see.

Alan Cameron, 60. Born in Partick but grew up in the South Side. Dad used to take me to Queens Park and Third Lanark games as both grounds were a stones throw away. But around 68 he took me to Shawfield for a Clyde Thistle game. The rest is history.

Worked mostly in the Middle East over the last 25 years so missed a lot of Thistle. Thank God someone invented the Internet. Retired 3 years ago and living in Kilmaurs and back to watching Thistle on a regular basis, at least when there isn't a pandemic to contend with.

That might even tempt me to leave the pub early. (assuming they're still open)

  7. Think that's just the type of player he is. In the old days when we could actually attend games some supporters would get annoyed at his constant moaning and cajoling of teammates. I actually liked that about him.

  8. There were a few things that helped turn our season around. From the management team getting Tiffoney in during the transfer window was crucial. We desperately needed a player with his pace and directness. Also moving to 2 players up front. Turned us from a team that was scoring less than a goal a game to one that was scoring for fun.

McCall also quickly ditched a tenancy for making wholesale changes midway through the 2nd half. When it happened it really disrupted our play. Laterally his subs have been much more considered and effective.

On the pitch, Keiran Wright's save at Airdrie and Rudden's first league goal off the chest were huge moments. In the Falkirk match Tiffoney scoring so quickly after the opening goal really knocked the stuffing out of them. No coming back after that.

  9. Not a single failure in a Thistle shirt last night. That sort of result tends to happen when everyone is on their game.

Have generally been a bit disappointed with Penrice this season. Last night he was absolutely superb though. Can't recall him having a better 90 minutes. From start to finish he ran them ragged.

Hopefully he can push on and become the player everyone knows he has in him. Just needs to find more consistency.
