Kris will always be a legend . In a lot of ways keeping kris would have been an easy option for Caldwell. The one thing I would say about Caldwell is that he isn’t afraid to take hard decisions to move club forward. No room for sentiment in this game . Archie stated that one of his issues was he was too loyal. Right decision letting kris go - now is the time to bring in players who can move the club forward.
I agree with this but it’s the way he has been treated it’s a disgrace.

I think Doolans time was up but this is an awful way of treating him, fair enough if he didn’t want a coaching role or wanted more first team football but to tell him yesterday and complete lack of respect is shocking and sad. Caldwell better have another McDonald up his sleeve.

And if your auntie had baws, etc. He IS a legend, and as stated in a post above is one of the greatest ambassadors we have had in decades. If you can’t find a squad place for a guy like him then we might as well pack up and go home.
I think he should have been given a 1 year deal and be part of the choaching staff but maybe he wanted to play regularly and we couldn’t offer it.

6 league goals including being a penalty if Dools wasn’t a legend no one would keep him. He’s 33 and probably one of the highest earners it’s time to move on.

If Doolan was’t a club legend not one of us would want him to stay. But maybe with better players me might score more I’m 50/50 on him.

Of course you are allowed your opinion but Lennox, Elliott? Were you at the last few games, Elliott was excellent. He's one of our better players this season. Lennox, have you seen him? I have three times and he's nowhere near good enough yet for the first team but he's a good goalie who'll get better. If you were bringing in better then fair enough but we have had much worse.
Lennox is very injury prone, not very handy as a back up, and Elloitt to me he’s very meh, ok defensively can’t cross but he’s always an out ball.

I think we should go for Zak Rudden from Falkirk, I think he got double figures in that super defensive Falkirk team also very young.
-
Knew I’d missed a few I’d definitely keep both of them.

Were Sneddon, Mcginty, Penrice, Elliott , Bannigan , Slater , Fitzpatrick . Doolan , Gordon , Spittal , Storey not there before Caldwell arrived, you’re absolutely right the Jan window helped us especially with Scott McDonald arriving at the club but the nucleus of the squad was already there and the results should have been better .
I’m not so sure we can just airbrush out the first part of the season , you’ve got to appraise the whole season as a collective.
Other teams improved since Jan ( Alloa and Falkirk) , other teams went on downward spirals Ayr and QOS
I’m sure Gary Caldwell will still be there next season and he will still polarise opinion .
McGinty and Spittal are different players under Caldwell and Elliott is in far better form as well. Also Sneddon only got into the team after Archie left but yeah apart from that I agree with everything else.

Keep:
Cardle, McDonald, Spittal , Doolan , Saunders , McMillan, Sneddon , Penrice, Slater , Bannigan , O’ware
Get rid:
Hazard , Gordan , Anderson, Elloitt , Roy, Mansell , McCarthy, Lennox , Kewon , Bell , Harkins , Storey

I did warn you that the paranoia of the self-righteous was incurable. And poisonous.
Not difficult to criticise mid table mediocrity, finishing well behind Bunter on a third of his budget.
You calling anyone poisonous is a bit rich tbh.

Not to surprised don’t think it’s a bad line up as Gordan and Spittal can support the strikers but queens who seem to have problems with crosses and we play with no width.
-
Anderson’s finished imo, he started off great but he gets worse each game I don’t think he can play consecutive games in a row my team would be:
Sneddon (gk)
Elloitt (rb)
Saunders (cb)
Mcmillan (cb)
Penrice (lb)
Slater (cm)
Bannigan (cm)
Spittal (cam)
Cardle (lw)
Mcdonald (st)
Fitzpartick (rw)
Score prediction 1-1

Only a certain type of Thistle fan would argue that the manager, having dragged us to the edge to the pit, could then be described as having saved us.
If next season he 'saves us' form being relegated from League One, that will also be a success.
"War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength".
Tbf he never dragged us to the “pit” we were 8th when he was appointed.

Was wondering if we did sack Caldwell who we would appoint, the usual suspects ( John Hughes) will always get mentioned, but the only ones off the top of my head I would want are Mcall ( unlikely ) Goodwin ( dose he not have a good job outside football? ) and Hopkin ( who I think would take the job ).

Gordon dropped after two goals in two games, and having shown more fight than most on Saturday despite 'only' being a loanee? Okay.
I wasn’t at the game on Tuesday so can’t comment on that but on Saturday and most games he dose nothing, I often forget he’s playing.

Sneddon
Elloitt McMillan Saunders Penrice
Bannigan
Slater Spittal
Fitzparick McDonald Cardle

Out of players signed in January I would keep, Saunders, McMillan , Cardle , McDonald and I’m 50/50 on Anderson. I would also chuck Harkins in the canal.

Doolan is ineffective as a lone striker. How about people get behind the players in the team? A few fans hurting that Caldwell has turned it around it seems
If we win today I’m all for giving Caldwell the summer but come on, Doolan’s far better than Storey.

Storey starts...

4-0 County now!!!!!!

Storey on...

Hopefully it’s not to serious with McDonald could be a massive blow.

That’s what I’m saying. If Doolan had rejected a coaching offer then fair enough but to not offer him one is a disgrace.
