  1. First half was an absolute disgrace, outfought, no quality, no leadership and showed exactly why 5-3-2 doesn’t work at Firhill. But the second half performance was very good with a good few chances and Alloa had very little.

How did we actually play yesterday. I haven’t seen any comments or opinions on that.

We played well, they created very little and we had a few chances, McDonald once again being one if not the best player on the park and worked his arse off, Spittal was unlucky with a shot and Anderson had a good shot at the end, Doolan was constantly offside and should have ran with McDonald at one point to have a tap in but apart from that he good as well.

  3. Bit of a team selection problems for this game. Do we keep the narrow 5-3-2 to play both Doolan and McDonald buts it’s still defensive or do we go with a more attacking 4-4-2 to also wingers in our game, or go with a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 as we have played a lot this season, there is also questions of will Elloit be back and who will replace Banzo.

  4. Falkirk:

    Dunfermline (a)

    Morton (h)

    Dundee United (a)

    Ross County (h)

Difficult to call for Falkirk the derby could really go anyway with Falkirk’s poor form. Morton at home looks key for them and I think United and County will have top 2 sucured so with nothing to play I fancy them to take something

    Partick Thistle:

    County (a)

    Alloa (h)

    Ayr (a)

    Ayr (h)

    QOTS (a)

7 points should see us safe, win the home games and take a point or 2 from the away games will be a good 5 games imo

    Alloa:

    QOTS (h)

    P.T (a)

    Caley (h)

    Ayr (a)

Good run in for Alloa a crucial next 2 games, I fancy them to stay up and as I think they will beat Queens, draw with us and beat Caley.

    Queen of the South:

    Alloa (a)

    Dunfermline (h)

    County (a)

    P.T (h)

With Doobie getting injured I really think this is the side we can catch, 1 league win in 2019 and a tough run in and I struggle to see where they will pick up points.

    Morton:

    Inverness (h)

    Falkirk (a)

    Dunfermline (a)

    Dundee United (h)

I think the 3 point gap they currently have other us will keep them up but 1 win in 13 games I don’t see them picking up many points, if and it’s a big if we go on a wee good run I fancy us to finish above them as well.

I keep hearing how good a signing Saunders and Anderson have been but does anyone else think our defence is very weak at times

i think we look like loosing goals every time the opposition attacks and I’m not convinced on Hazard either.

caldwell seems to be setting us up hard to beat but I think we need to play on the front foot as that’s what we seem best at especially when we play Cardle and Fitzpatrick

For me we need to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 and stop changing the team and set up most weeks

Saunders and Anderson did nothing wrong today it was the midfield and fullbacks who have struggled, especially the midfield as most weeks we lose that battle and let teams run through us numerous times per match.

  6. Scully at the second goal showing why it is baffling to how he is a professional goalkeeper, absolute diddy. First half was a disgrace but we should have won, McMillan is to slow to play wingback and Gordon was useless thought Mcginty had a good game and Cardle changed the game. Got away with one today with other results but we are 8th 3 points off 6th but also 1 point off bottom going to go till the end this season.

  7. I was thinking maybe a 4-4-2?

                           Hazard

    Elloit       Anderson  Saunders  Penrice

    Fitzpatrick  Gordon    Banzo    Cardle

                             Doolan     McDonald

Would be harsh on Spittal and McMillan , but our defence is the worst in the league so why not just go for it?

  8. A lot of people saying about Doolan, Mcdonald, Spittal ect. But Penrice has been impressive in the last month, fair play to him as I thought he was our weak link for a while. Great photos on this thread as well btw.

  9. I don’t understand when trying to criticise Caldwell people bring up that he was brought in to challenge for promotion this season, it was very clear early on we had no chance, the board, manager, players for one reason or another felt like they had to say it imo . Keeping us up is the objective and looking back imo we had one good result before Caldwell , the Falkirk win, well the manager was sacked the next game, the Morton win they had lost their manager the night before and where unsettled, which leaves the QOTS win a good entertaining win. These 3 wins imo parpered over the cracks to a relagation squad.

Losing a goal to the first Falkirk attempt between the legs of the goalkeeper seems to indicate a weakness somewhere... Perhaps we should prefer our own players to loanees just there for the experience.

I’m more worried by the marking tbh.

  11. Imagine we’ll go for 5/3 at the back

                               Hazard

    Elloit  McMillan Saunders Ando   Penrice

                        Slater    Spittal

                                   Cardle

                      Fitzpatrick  Macdonald

  12. So to sum up:

Harkins is one of the worst players to play for thistle

    We are now relegated

    Caldwell should now be sacked

The whole team has been found out

And there is Caldwell fan boy

Amazing what one loss can do
