Boring no doubt but realistically who out of those 8 would have been any less boring? So couldn’t have really got a much better draw in the sense of it being a very winnable game.
-
Any rumours of anyone else signing with us? All quiet at the moment usually always rumours of someone floating about.

I was in my usual position behind the goal at the right hand side. The side the keeper saved it at . I would say without a doubt it was over the line, before the keeper pushed it back out. Never mind just like Doolan's ghost goal last season we still won.
I actually thought it was a brilliant save at the time. Of course it’s irrelevant anyway was just curious though. Good thing both our ghost goals weren’t important to the score lines.

Was millers goal really in then? Seems sure by what people are saying on here. Hard to tell from behind goal at the back.

I think fox was ok to be fair neither goal where his fault although I was behind goal so unsure if he could maybe have done more to get it or not, would prefer sneddon in goals but could happily live with either. Thought robson And Williamson where immense and will be be immense going forward in laying on loads of assists from crosses this season but think we need more cover at rb with a more defensive player, penrice of course gives that in the left. Think Mansell is actually good asset but again more more for laying in goals than scoring them. Wasn’t impressed with jones think we are still to find our goal scorer for the season. Think Gordon and miller will both score 10 minimum easy for us and will be big players. More so Gordon, although often quiet his late runs and ability to know where to be at the back post and finishing is something that will be super important for us. The rest where ok. Feel for Palmer as I thought he had been our best player in the first half.

I think if Banzo didn’t make that awful mistake I think we would have ran out comfortable winners, need to cut out these stupid mistakes.
Totally agree, think it would have been 4/5-1 if that absolutely ludicrous own goal hadn’t been score.

Still so sign?

It’s not a defeat by any means in my opinion, the league cup group stage is an anomaly to any other normal game of football where you get a point for it finishing a draw and then an extra for a shootout win. In any other game you’d either get the draw or would go onto lose/win in extra time and or penalties and be put out due to it being a knockout platform.

Okay, here goes.
Fox - okay, nothing special, think Sneddon is the better keeper.
Williamson - good going forward, took his goal really well, suspect defensively, looks like he's lacking confidence.
O'Ware - will be a standout this season, comfortable on the ball and a goal threat at corners.
McGinty - my current favourite player, along the lines of magnificent and appalling in equal measure.
Penrice - whatever the formation, don't think he should be out of the team, class act (and pleased to see he seems to have been working on his heading).
Cardle - always a threat, hope we can keep him fit.
Palmer - at his best, think Billy Bremner, at other times think youth player among the grown-ups.
Bannigan - usual excellence, although not back to his best (will he ever be?)
Robson - some flashes of excellent play, anonymous at other times.
Gordon - you don't know he's on the park and then he's in the box scoring a goal. He could get us double figures this season.
Miller - promising more than he's delivering at the moment, but he's going to make a significant contribution over the piece.
Mansell - this boy can play, his assists alone impress, but he needs to add goals to his game.
Da Vita - not on long enough to make a judgement. Crap at penalties, though.
Jones - only seen about ten minutes of him over two games, but he didn't set the heather on fire.
Overall, a good, if patchy, performance. Probably enough evidence to suggest we'll compete at the top of the league, but not enough to suggest we can win it.
Brilliant, cheers. Hoping Jones is a big player this year once fit.

Couldn’t make it today, could anyone give a review of who got pass marks or played well etc, would be great cheers

No maximum points Queens Park could get would be 8 if we beat Clyde we will sit on an uncatchable 10 with max anybody else could get 9.
-
How did it tonight go then? Could anyone there give a brief summary of what was said, would be greatly appreciated thanks

Not particularly relevant to us but seeing the results from Saturday and last night in particular teams from our league and even the prem have been struggling big team against lesser opposition with st J’stone, Alloa, Inverness, Qots, united winning slimly and Ayr(admittedly against livi). At the weekend too similar results. So it is encouraging that we’re getting the job done and putting points on the board even if not doing it impressively as such, for me a good sign of any team is to win when playing badly regardless of opposition as many results have shown aren’t ever easy is this group stage setup. Few more bodies in of starting quality oppose to squad depth and I think this will be a positive season.

Best home game United 2–1 win, best away game away to qots just there. Best goal storer no arguments, fitzy’s last minute winner was the most enjoyable.
Worst home game 2-1 defeat to Morton/Inverness and away a toss up between the 5–1 defeat at the hands of Morton, east fife away in the challenge cup or the 1-0 defeat away too alloa where we took a large support and where we’ll expecting of a new manager bounce that never came till a few months down the like in January. That was certainly a miserable defeat.
Infact I would also like to add fitzy’s goal is one of my favourite goals ever actually.

I would've picked Bannigan as MotM but it's refreshing to have a difference of opinion over something positive for once.
Here's some quality photos courtesy of the Queen's official website. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipPN0P2EPoGf9cGFeh_dOH2ctFquLzev31353HAw8fH0HFELcr9KUoHhdRSKKy-8TQ?key=OGk0TEE0OFlrQzlWa1pnOU5DZTVDTHRTNkZHdkR3
He was also fantastic tbf, probably did him a dis service not giving him a mention too.

What a fantastic day out that was, can’t fault absolutely anyone. Big Sean motm again, outstanding. Skippy superb again got to keep him at all costs. Well done Gary Caldwell don’t know if I’m the only one but I like him and I fancy(hope) he’ll do good things for us over summer and next year. Fingers crossed I’m right.

You know, just two Firhill wins against Ayr is all it would have taken for us to be in the promotion play off
Crazy that when you think about it.

As for coulibaly it’s never gonna go anywhere realistically it seems and is behaviour on his twitter account I simply childish so he can also be on his way despite his undoubted talent.
-
Cardle and skippy are an absolute must for me. We have to keep them at all costs imo. Elliot and doolan I would like to see mainly on a personal level of liking both. Spittal would be worth while retaining too certainly when he’s at it but something tells me he’ll fancy a new challenge. The rest meh, could live without any of them and replace fairly easily. Anderson was decent but O’ware can fill that gap easily I would imagine.

Get in there jags! Queens lose on Friday, we do do the business Saturday and can turn Dumfries into a day out/p*ss up in the sun to celebrate the relief not too much too ask right???

Not for the first time, I was unconvinced by Caldwell's team selection and the formation predictably failed in the first half - we were relying on Elliot, McMillan & Gordon to create chances so no great surprise we didn't....just as well big Sean McGinty had a few swaggering runs and sensible passes. It was like a re-run of the Livvy play-off game with Alloa taking a lead and defending in depth against a laborious Thistle build-up.
Second Half was much better - it helps to bring on decent footballers and that the man who used to be Gary Harkins played like..Gary Harkins. Slater was lost in the first half but did well in his proper position.
I always thought Scott MacDonald was an obnoxious wee nyaff when he played for the opposition...now I have seen him for Thistle, I was able to confirm that he is. He didn't play particularly well but scored a good free kick, beating the fat-boy Alloa Keeper who showed that he was not only slow at taking bye kicks. It was a crucial goal for Thistle but MacDonald's reaction to go to taunt the small band of Alloa Fans rather that celebrate with his own supporters was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen from a Thistle player.
A vital win but with the players we have it is ludicrous we have been nowhere even close to a promotion play-off spot.
Totally disagree McDonald’s celebration was absolutely superb, if they can dish it they can take it back. All a bit of fun.

Excellent result absolutely buzzing forget the first half we did what mattered and got the 3 points. Sneddon great second half. Ando was solid again, as where dools and skippy both worked there socks off. Cardle and harkins excellent changed the game. Big Mcginty motm he was outstanding today. You could see what it meant to him at the end he was absolutely buzzing and oozing passion, absolutely loved that from him. Well done that man.
-
Can’t believe we didn’t win it in the end to be fair, never seen so many goal mouth scrambles in my life as we couldn’t just get one of them to bounce luckily our way. I thought Mcginty was excellent and my motm was Penrice. Thought he was absolutely immense. Mcdonald too. Spittal had a good second half and banzo had an excellent first half. McMillan was struggling so too was Gordon. Doolan shows classy touches but was quiet l. As for miles storey I have ran out of things to say. That miss why oh why couldn’t that just have fell to Doolan or skippy. A point dropped in the end in all honesty after battering them in the second half. Good spirit to come back though and the players gave it there all to bring it back and really tried to go for it. Caught sleeping early on again though, something we have to stop doing.
