sigesige00
There is no Football Associations in the Crown Dependencies -- Mannin (Isle of Man), the Jersey islands, and the Channel islands. Is there no football team in these areas? If there is a player of the level of international football, what team does he/she belong to? If they were born on the Jersey islands, they belong to Wales. If they were born on the Channel Islands, they belong to France. Simples. Hope this helps your thesis. Next ! Matt Le Tissier and Graham Le Saux are both from the Channel Islands and were capped by England.
sigesige00
Matt Le Tissier and Graham Le Saux are both from the Channel Islands and were capped by England. Is there any rule about that? Could they be capped by Scotland, Wales or "Northern Ireland"?
Charlie Endell
Is there any rule about that? Could they be capped by Scotland, Wales or "Northern Ireland"? Copied and pasted from a Southampton fan on the TAMB (Tartan Army Messageboard): - In Le God's (Tissier) autobiography he states, "Because I was from the Channel Islands I was eligible to play for any of the home countries and because all my previous caps had been in friendlies, I could still opt for Northen Ireland, Scotland or Wales. My dream had always been to play for England, though that didn't stop the Wales manager Bobby Gould trying to pick me". Tiss also mention's the France prospect... "Michel Plantini and his assistant Gerard Houlier kept ringing. But any French ancestry was a long, long, way back in the past."
