I read somewhere tonight that it was Stirling, but can't remember where.
BBC website. Disgraceful decision, the match should be replayed at Palmerston. I believe there are still electrical concerns, in that case they should delay by a week
-
Big gamble on Ross County today, their odds were hammered. I am not a happy chappie at this.
I thought bookies paid out as score stands on an abandonded match
-
too close to call between today & last month v. Cowdenbeath. woeful stuff

Scottish football is dying on it's arse, it's not just us. The standard is probably the worst we have ever seen. Players we think are decent just now wouldn't get in to our teams of yesteryear (and I'm not just being nostalgic). A serious rethink is needed, but I've no idea what the answer is, but thats 4 or 5 home games now with crowds of well under 2000, something we haven't seen for a long time. answers on a postcard please!!!

I see that Jimmy Nicholl's name has been banded about for the managerial post at Firhill. He was at the game on Tuesday night...
maybe because Cowdenbeath play Falkirk tomorrow
-
hope the new temp management team bring back young Bannigan from ayr
we could do with him with all the injuries we have
not sure if we are allowed to now
-
This time last year I would have been happy for him to leave, but I think he's turned things around a bit this season after a poor start. Got some promising youngsters, a decent keeper & a few good players signed for next season. He sent Kinniburgh, Doolan & Boyle out on loan last and all returned better players. Hopefully young Bannigan will be another. He's the 4th best manager we have had in the last 40 years (taking away the obvious Lambie, Auld & McParland) maybe there has been not much competition, but overall I would say his 4 years at Firhill have been reasonably successful.

As McCall's assistant manager, Maxy would have expected to have been appointed caretaker manager. On the other hand, Maxy may be going to another club with McCall...
strange that he hasn't even been mentioned
-
As a left field choice, maybe Paul Sheerin?
Employing young unproven managers is always a risk, and sometimes pay dividends, but it's maybe not a risk worth us taking given our situation.
Bit of a contradiction from you I think. Does 1 (granted successful) season with a part time team in the 3rd division make him proven?

Went out and bought the Sunday papers thanks to this thread.
"Bird of the week"
you could have read it online!!!

Falkirk have more to play for & will fancy at least 2 wins & will probably target all 3, so it depends how much our boys are up for it. I think 2 draws & 1 defeat, so 2 points (and thats being optimistic) purely because it's Falkirk's last chance
-
I know, but that day will never be beaten!! excellent photos as always Tommy

Ignore this, I just found out that Stirling appealed the red card
-
was sent off for a professional foul against Dunfermline on Saturday so how the hell was he playing against us tonight? Did Stirling appeal the red card?

It doesn't get better than this in Stirling.... HERE.
Lindau Hat-trick & promotion sealed??????

OK, lets put a positive spin on it. Let's say we sort the inconsistancy out for next season and get these points on the board, that we have lost this season. Don't have so many dodgy pens given against us and on a more regular occurance, find our scoring boots..................good times are just around the corner.
dodgy pens, missing chances & other stuff like that even themselves out over the season. What we should be able to do at the start of every season is target where we can win points, and against 2 newly promoted part time teams (who lost their successful managers) we should have been looking for 10-12 points from each. Next season won't be so easy against Livvy though
-
Tonight Dundee played a guy whose registration was held by a non league club down south. Because of the transfer embargo they needed that released, so they got Lochee Utd to sign him and then played him as a trialist (all of which is apparently legit).
******* joke, they should have been relegated, end of story
-
Yes, I know if my auntie had baws etc, but we should have been looking for full points from both of these teams at the start of the season instead of 6 from Stirling & 4 from Cowdenbeath (and I know other teams have dropped points against them, but not many) If so we would have 49 points from 27 games, 4 behind Raith & 2 behind Dunfermline, with 2 games in hand over each!!
-
I'll say 3-0 Thistle. Said that to someone the last time we played Stirling Albion and look how that turned out
well done that man, I hope you had some cash on the correct score!! any chance of tomorrows lottery numbers?
-
The whole team should be classified as that surely on saturday in addition to the Manager, quite clearly the biggest dud (out of much competition) would have been John Robertson, though he tends to get much less criticism by people than others such as Grehan or Boyle(last season)
I said right after the goal that Robertson should have been taken off immediately for his pathetic efforts in giving the goal away, especially after doing the same in the 1st half when Fox saved his skin.

Felt sorry for the person landed with the task of picking the MotM. If it was me I'd have chosen Shaun Fraser then snatched the champagne back from him as he's underage.
he won it in the half-time draw in hospitality. He had the choice of a Jags Tie or picking man of the match. I guess he picked that wrong as well!!!

And it is frustrating to see Liam hitting the net fairly regularly for the Pars...
that was always going to happen. It's more frustraing to see Hardie hit 3 for them yesterday as I believe he is a player we should have made sure we signed in January. I think he could have been used to teach Doolan, Grehan, Fraser etc a lot about playing the game
-
Drop everyone from Saturday that can be dropped and filled in by a youngster except Fox, Rowson and Doolan.
what a load of nonsense. The team played badly as a whole yesterday, but replacing them by youngsters who aren't ready for the 1st team is the wrong thing to do.
Fraser & Campbell both got a reasonable run yesterday & made no real difference, so what makes you think bringing in another 6 youngsters will make a difference? These guys need time & do need to play more, but I don't think we have a team of youngsters anywhere near ready for the 1st team

The rule change is up to the IFAB (International Football Association Board). In the IFAB, the FIFA has 4 vote, and English FA / Welsh FA / Scottish FA / Irish FA have 1 vote each. Rule change requires 6 votes.
well write to them all then

I'd love to know why he never signed for us in January. Could we not afford him? Did he turn us down? Did we even try to sign him? or did McCall not fancy him? He could have made a huge difference to us, even though we have done reasonably well since.
