  1. IIRC Beep, Cammy Duncan let in a really soft last minute winner for Falkirk in the 4-3 game. It was a terrific game though.

correct. It might have been Derek McWilliams that scored the winner (he certainly scored in the game). we had some right good games against Falkirk in the early 90's

  2. The aim is to hold two HoF events every season. With around 5 inductees each time, we'll pretty soon run out of true worthies among the players. So why not include backroom staff.

Is my memory shot to pieces, or wasn't there some kind of tribute to Molly at one such event?

she had a testimonial match & probably other tributes

  3. I can't remember if this has been suggested before, but at some point I'd like to see Molly Stallan (sp?) inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I see where you're coming from Will, but is the HOF not for players only? If not where do you draw the line? People like Jimmy Aitken and older managers & chairmen would have to be considered

  4. Morton were terrible, we were/are just as bad.

Flannigan was decent in the last 5mins when he waas running down the wing, get him doing that more often, as he's lost in the middle. Erskine didn't get a chance, he's never a striker, put him on the wing & he will create afew chances.

Erskine was on the wing against Cowdenbeath & created hee-haw

  5. Agree 100% with Badger's inclusion - others from that era would include Andy Anderson (is he perhaps in already? - should be) and Alan Hansen who is the single most talented player I have ever seen in a Thistle jersey - it would be a shame if he were excluded from this accolade by his first club on the basis of a perception that he is "pro-England" - such narrow minded prejudice is surely not synonymous with Thistle.

Good call about Alan Hansen. I don't think anybody can argue that he was the greatest player who ever played for Thistle (well it's difficult for some of us to know much about Jimmy Davidson, Ma Ba McKennan & many others from the 1950's & earlier). Also good shouts about Danny Lennon, double winning captain :clapping:

  6. You know something,in these days of depression, cuts, pish weather and misery the thought of a Bobby Law Day has really warmed my heart. The guy was never going to be a superstar or one of the Thistle greats but every time he went out on the pitch he gave it all.Sometimes "all" was pish right enough but that doesn't matter, I'd rather have 11 average guys giving everything than 11 imposters giving a performance once in a blue moon.

Bobby Law Day is for all of us average guys who may never be superheroes but always turn up and just bloody do it.

    .........................RAVE ON.

well said that man!!! we've had a few players of that type over the years, John Workman, Willie Jamieson & Don McVicar come to mind, but the Lawman did it for longer than most

  7. ...and I'd be glad I spent it with you.

Nominations for the teams? I suspect we can probably come up with outlaws more readily than good guys!

    Chic Charnley

    John Donnelly...

Did John Donnelly not pass away a few years ago (or am I confusing him with another ex-player?)

  8. Another Saturday ruined by this pile of shite. What does Erskine have to do gain a start in this team over one of the many useless has-been crocks?

he played from the start against Cowdenbeath & was crap. He used to try & take on opponents, but last week he just wanted to get rid of the ball as quuickly as possible

  9. Today I've received confirmation that the club are going to contact Bobby and ask him to a match so he can get the recognition from the fans that we all know is long over due.

My work here is done (LOL).

    :clapping: :worshippy:

  10. Right, that's it. I've had enough of this. It is exactly this type of negative drivel that is killing Thistle. Well stay away then Mr so-called Jaggy; stay in your EK ivory tower. I hope you get bloody well snowed in all winter!!!!

I'll tell what, I challenge you turn up in the Aitken Suite at the next Thistle home game and repeat your negative bile to my face. Aye, not feeling so big now are you Mr Jaggy.

Oh, and another thing, the weather here is absolutely wonderful. Will be sitting out in the Dolphin Club tomorrow and Thursday night drinking ice cold beer, watching the sun disappear over the mountains. Missing it? And finally in addition to Firhill on the 13th, you will be at the Stirling cup game, no excuses entertained. Keep the faith!

see the trouble you've caused now!!! ok you're on for the 13th, but I'll still tell you the football's pish :(

  11. This is the thing I hate when this subject reappears. Fans questioning other fans support to the Club just because they have second thoughts on attending on a Saturday. It's petty and pathetic.

don't worry mate, it's a friend of mine at the wind-up

  12. The product is rubbish (not just by us) & it will take a hell of an improvement to make me go regularly again. I don't expect world class football, but I do expect some kind entertainment when I go & see the Jags. The feeling by some that 'we played well' & 'there were good performances' by some players shows how low the level of expectation has become. We were poor & Cowdenbeath were worse, how many shots did we actually have on target?

  13. The STV sports programme last night was the first time I'd ever seen Craigan give any kind of interview. He came across as intelligent and articulate, a cut above many of his fellow footballers. Anybody know if he's got coaching qualifications? I can see him doing well later on, either in management or as a pundit.

He used to be on Radio Scotland quite a lot as a pundit, not sure if he still does it
