  1. ******* disgrace, i'm come home from the middle east next week & I cant see any reason to go & watch that shite. McCall should walk, but what's the point? We've no money, so what's the answer? As Grant B says, 2nd division & part-time beckons.

  2. Pathetic m8 such a shallow response cos it doesn't effect us. We are a Scottish team in a Scottish league ! Me personally don't like my team to be recognised as being in a pish poor league !

You on the other hand are quite delighted it would seem ?

Your opinion is rather sad as a Scotsman in my opinion !

    Things need to change.

whats shallow about it? I support Partick Thistle & Scotland. I couldn't give a flying **** about the other 41 teams in Scotland & will only really care about the co-efficient if it affects PTFC & Scotland.

sorry if you think it is shallow but maybe you care more about rangers, celtic, hearts, hibs, dundee united & motherwelll in europe than you do about your own club. if so thats your choice

  3. Have you ever looked at the bigger picture ? Like Scotlands chances of having more teams in Europe with maybe a 5th place finish in the league ?

yes at the moment that is pie in the sky but it will hopefully not be that way forever. Hate the infirm like any other Jags fan. But you are laffing at the Scottish teams while the rest of Europe is laffing at Scotland.

Rather sad really in my opinion. But don't let that get in your way of laffing at the rest of Scottish football !

There were 5 scottish teams in Europe this season & 4 were humped out before the end of August. The only reason rangers are still in is because they haven't played yet!!!

who cares about Scotland's co-efficient, will we ever finish high enough in the SPL for it to matter? I doubt it.

Aberdeen & Dundee Utd did great in Europe in the 80's, but did it make any differenc to PTFC? The answer is NO!!!

  4. it's fcuking hilarious, out of 2 european competitions before the end of august!!!

re the earlier post by firhillista, scottish football is a joke & has been for years, think of the teams that have knocked our teams out of europe over the past few years. The laugh is the OF still think they are 'big' clubs in europe

  5. I support Bursaspor, however I hope success of any Scottish team in Europe.

Success of Scottish teams in Europe will mean more Europe-spots for Scotland. Therefore, the chance for non-Old Firm teams to play in Europe become larger.

on the evidence of tonight's half time scores is that so we can get more embarassed?

  6. This just gets funnier and funnier :

Bursaspor is a professional Turkish football club located in the city of Bursa. Formed in 1963, Bursaspor are nicknamed the Yeşil Timsahlar (the Green Crocodiles). The club colours are green and white, with home kits usually donning both colours in a striped pattern.

You can hear the FOTFOD foaming at the mouth already.

check the 2nd & 3rd strips according to wiki

  7. I have to say though, it's all very well taking the moral high ground regarding following the rules but, one of the biggest criticisms I have of our board is following the rules blindly or perhaps to feed the greed. We should've said "Boz tae that" when the SPL insisted on 10,000 seats and waived promotion ( Falkirk did, kind of ) . After all, beinng skintoed in the SPL wins you no pals and is a sure fire passport back to where you came from.

The SPL are no pals to us. Why did we keep trying to impress them? We look like the spotty youth tryin to impress the prom queen. Shameful.

Oh sure, Lambie & his team burst a gut to win the league and them & us should have said "eff off spl we dont want promotion"

    your 2nd ridiculous post today

i'm begining to think you're at the wind up after your decent post ;ast weekend

  8. Steven please give us a break from the standard worlds against us excuse that has been trotted out for 10 years now.

The mess we are in is our own fault and no one elses.

most of it is our own fault, but SPL shafted us twice & nobody can argue about it!!

  9. RE-OPEN THE MAIN STAND AND SHUT THE CANAL END SHOE-BOX!!!! There's more to Firhill than the Jackie H.

you had a good post a few days ago, but totally ruined it with this stupid remark!!! Yeah let's throw money we haven't got at a dump of an ancient wooden stand with poor viewing & even worse facilities. It was a dump in the 70's, so it's time for you & the other "excellent main stand" lovers to get over it

excellent my arse as Jim Royle would say!!!

  10. Not on that team sheet, but my last outing to Brockville had us start with triallist, big Leon Constantine. I'd have him back in a breath, but not gonnae happen now.

Btw, Lambie said then: "he's no better than we've already got". Could McCall honestly say that if LC was on trial with us now? I doubt it.

he wasn't a trialist, he was on loan from Millwall IIRC & I don't think Lambie said what you quoted

  11. The sooner my hometown has a professional team to support, the better.

If you feel that way why not go & see EK Thistle every week? I am from EK & will return there soon, but no way would I be interested in supporting EK "Professionals" :red_card::no:

Once a Jag always a Jag!! :wearethistle:

  12. Is it impossible to consider the possibility of merger with Queen's Park FC?

Thistle can move in the Hampden Park, and sell Firhill to Glasgow Warriors.

    Is it out-of-question?

crazy idea. what would QP get out of it? why would we want to play in a 50,000 plus stadium with crowds of less than 3,000?

  13. I'm pretty sure Bates never owned us as league rules didn't allow anyone to own (or have a majority shareholding in)2 clubs, even in different countries.

the feeder club idea may have worked especially the way it started with West & Dodds, but the problem was dumping Johnstone on us. I'm also fairly sure that Johnstone was to be player/coach or similar under Bertie Auld (who had returned near the end of the previous season & managed to keep us up) but Bertie fell out with Bates & left before the season started. Johnstone was way out his depth which was a pity as the player/coach thing might have worked out.

When Bates left I think thats when Bobby Watson's consortium got involved & that was the start of our resurgence.

Thats my memory of the time, if some of it's wrong then tough cos I'm getting old & senile!!!

  14. yes, good result, especially after kirkaldy.does the ruwi hotel still do "ruwi-revivers",the inter-con used to be pretty busy on friday mornings, was quite raucos at times,so many good memories,so many7 sore heads.

i don't know where the ruwi hotel is, i never go to ruwi very often. Like I said things have changed big time & I live close to the airport. almost everywhere between ruwi & the airport is built up now, probably areas you havent even heard of. beyond the airport there are huge housing areas as well.

  15. cant believe in all the years that i spent in the oman that i didnt find another "jag"now we have so many!!.yes you are right,i would probably find many changes,i presume that you have a wider selection of "watering holes",i was lucky working with the ministry that i had a good "social life",which didnt cost the earth.the one thing i dont miss is RAMAHDAN,the EIDS wre okay though.well guys hope this finds you in good spirits.

definitely in good spirits after todays result, even though Ramadan just started a few days ago!!!

  16. at mpa, civvy, working in the power station for babcocks.havent been any further in the water than ankle depth.

are you in muscat,or down southin salalah.spent over 10 years in and around muaskar al mutaffah, seeb, then, when i returned for a 2nd spell,i was down south.its funny in all the years i was there,i never came across another thistle fan, plenty of the old firm lot.left the oman 1994,thought about going back for a look but so far resisted the temptation, somethings are best left as good memories.todays result not a great start, goalie is dodgy, always has been,no amount of coaching by hinchcliffe will make him good!

I'm in Muscat working at the airport, Muscat Jag is also in Muscat as well (funnily enough!!) Topcat is in Sur just now, but came up to Muscat last week.

If you left in 94 you would see massive changes, even people who have been here for only 4 or 5 years say that.

  17. spent a long time working in the oman with the ministry of defence, now in the falklands,do you have a space for an honary member?

of course!!! I will soon need to be an honorary member as it's home to EK for me at the end of the month. Also, Topcat is only here for a short spell, but he was here for a long time. So from next month it will only be Muscat Jag!!!
