  1. Apologies in advance as it's probably been posted already, however curious as to why Christie never made the bench. Injured?
  2. Spot on, O'Donnell had a very poor game though the big plus was at no point did he hide, which says a lot for him. Stuck at it, even though nothing seemed to go right for him. The first half was an eyesore but given the conditions it was never going to be pretty. A little surprised - what am I saying nothing should surprise me here - to see Stewart coming in for some stick as I thought he had a decent game. For someone not known for running his socks off, I thought he did just that. Other positive was seeing Balatoni signing off on a good note, another player who has come in for some O.T.T. abuse, though has shown guts to stick at it. Summary, great game .. definitely not; Worth the money - for quality again a no, though walking out with three points felt a lot better than when walking out after the Raith game. We have a good recent record up in Dingwall, so hopefully it will be a happy start to the New Year.
  3. Best away performance of the season, though given it's only our second away win that may not say a lot. any other day the MoM award would go to a goalscorer particularly a strike that was as good as Rowers's - the net did it's job well! However over the 90 mins the stand out for me was Paul Paton, probably the best performance ever in a Jags jersey. Delighted for him as he was the brunt of a bit of stick earlier in the season and ha now found a position in the team that is working both for him but also for us as a team. Good to see Dools find the way to goal again, hopefully the start of a run of goals for the strikers. Finally as already stated above all the best to Kyle, at fault for the goal but other than that had a very good game. As for the mistake if it been a dallying on the ball one I'd not have been too happy, however the fault came from him fighting to win the ball and muffing the clearance. He tries to play the game the right way and overall thought his positives far outweighed the odd mistake. Good three points and with two very winnable homes games coming up this is our chance to get on a run for the first time this season.
  4. I'll second that, apart from the mistake that led to Morton's goal Kyle had a very good game. Strong on the ball and I think we will going to miss him as he is a quality player.
  5. Great upload, great strike, great day!
  6. Ferranti Thistle were a non-league works side who became Meadowbank Thistle(Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh) when entering the Scottish League before eventually moving to Livingston and becoming Livingston FC.
  7. http://www.ptfc.co.uk/media/photo_galleries/match_galleries/2011-2012/partick_thistle_v_livingston_03_12_11/image_019 Good place to watch from, warm and can have a drink too if you wish!
  8. I would not call it a love in, more a case of being objective. Being able to see improved performances and give credit for them than dwell on past performances. ie., it's all about balance... do we look at today's game and blame Balatoni for a conceded goal than was not directly down to him (IMO Fox should have came for it.) or give him some credit for a goal he scored. I'll stand by my opinion he was poor early season, though has been improving and could do us good turn going forward.
  9. The level of possibilities could well increase depending on what happens.
  10. All of a sudden Victoria Park will definitely not be up to Premier league status.
  11. I believe you are right on it being a Sunday, just so long ago you tend to forget. What I do recall it was a game where the result was never in doubt and I was standing on what is now affectionately known as the bing. Ah the days when we could put 6 past a non league side!
  12. I'd play him in front of Robertson, just think he is more mobile.
  13. I'd keep him. Balatoni started off very poorly this season, which got more than a few fans riled. However he has shown signs of improvement and IMO still has a lot to offer. He's still a young player and given the chance could turn into a really valuable part of the team. If we can keep him for the rest of the season, then I firmly believe he will go to put in performances to win over the doubters. My bigger worry at the moment is up front, though hopeful the introduction of Dargo will be a kick up the backs1de for the other front players. He may not be fully match fit, but he clearly knows his way around the park and where to make runs, which can only help those around him.
  14. I'm delighted the match turned out to be fitting for the occasion, great day all round!
  15. Cairney was the deserved MOM for me. Miserable conditions again, though thought we played reasonably well before shooting ourselves in the foot just before half-time. I felt we should have won more comfortably, though getting the 3 points were very important. Fair play to Balatoni, good volley for his goal. Moving Paton inside looks to be a good move, temporary as it may be it looks like Kinniburgh will be back soon. O'Donnell gave Livvy all sorts of problems in the first half, though alas second half he was a bit quieter. Still if we can just win 2 games in a row for a wee change, the table may look even better next Saturday night.
  16. 1. Wear something warm 2. Be prepared for reality being different from the book! 3. And after you visit and you are in search of why, may I suggest you try 'The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud' Welcome aboard the magical Thistle bandwagon!
  17. Makes you wonder if having a groupon day would entice a few fans, would be bound to generate a lot of publicity too! an opportunity to get across out free for kids to a wider audience too.
  18. The fur could fly at such suggestion, though guess only fair given a fox was allowed entry without a ticket recently.
  19. I blame games like Football Manager, gives people some strange ideas! However if you can get Messi & Ronaldo up front for us, I'll take it all back!

    Great Day...

Congratulations Ian and also to your good lady. Your day was without doubt far better than ours!
  21. Wed 30th Nov 7:45 ko. Not great for the guys that had already purchased hospitality, which is a pity. Fortunately I'm not one of them and have to say I like night matches at Somerset Park standing in a dark decrepit stadium under floodlights. Feels like a real game and looking forward to it. Though Jackie may different views on visiting on a mid-week evening given he broke his leg there a couple of seasons back.
  22. Well I'll be going along to see us do what we should have done first time around. Culter had their chance at the end of the game on Saturday and fortunately failed to take it. I'd be very surprised if we do not win by 5 as fully expect the players to be very much fired up for the reply. Not that I think it will have anything to do with the abuse they got at full time, more from hearing the Culter team celebrating in the dressing room after the game. Never a nice experience! Hopefully there will be a decent attendance, though from the responses it's looks like a few of the regulars are going to give it a miss. Lets just hope their is no repeat of last weekend's shambles.
