  1. Whereever we are, our hearts are in Scotland come Saturday (I do not have accurate records of the Nomads since my days of knowing which town all of the 170+ Nomads lived in ...plus the odd yacht!!) £345 from 17 Nomads now £355 from 18 Nomads now £360 from 19 Nomads now. Latest Nomad donation was a tenner but I credited one of our Middle East guys with £25 when it was really £20. (I'll get a drink off him yet in the Aitken Suite someday.........) A few Nomad Paypal payments have attracted fees (do make the money a gift / donation as this may well help avoid deductions) The kitty is therefore £354.40
  2. OK Nomads, I have been on the phone to the Club and we have secured our first shirt Bryn Halliwell. I'll send them a cheque this weekend when I get home. (Their Paypal is not set up correctly it seesms). I have been "bold enough" to pencil in our next shirt target - Chris Erskine's Away shirt (appropriate for us Nomads) To secure this top we'll need to get a second push on, so don't delay, get your piggy bank out the wardrobe and break out some cash for the cause! PS Tam will shortly receive e-mails from the Club (as they did not recall receiving any from him todate other than the request to hold Bryn's shirt)
  3. £325 from 16 Nomads. No it was actually £335 Let us make this Base Camp 1 and keep climbing. The more we raise the better for all concerned. It'd be great to have another BIG raffle like Year One of our sponsorship when I had 3 signed shirts and another 8 passed back to me from the Club. Tam - Maybe a wee Nomad Newsletter to let the gang know we are on our way and not to miss the boat? Cheers.
  4. The money is rolling........ 3 more Nomads join up with £50, £25 and £10 adding to our pot. That's £245 already. C'mon you Nomads!! Believe in the Fez
  5. Should anyone choose to send money directly to the Club, would they please send me a PM so I can (check ) and track all donations and manage the inevitable raffle of the Nomad shirt to all those who contributed? PS 6 Nomads in already and £115 in the kitty PPS Do not miss the boat - each fiver gets you one raffle ticket!
  6. Money already pledged. C'mon Nomads - let's get busy. Post away!
  7. My last count (from a while back)was 15 in Oz Austinmer NSW Campbeltown NSW Waga Waga NSW (no kiddin') Melbourne x 5 Brisbane Perth x 2 Sydney x 3 Hobart
  8. Good news for all Nomads. Ping me anytime Tam if you have a query. Shuggie
  9. I just love reading this thread Let me sing to you all! Somewhere in Scotland (the Nomads song) On a distant shore, in a far country this life of mine, it has taken me. Though my ties to the past are not all good, There’s one bond that won’t break, no, it never could Chorus Somewhere in Scotland, far from me Wi’ my team from Glasgow is where I long to be Red and Yellow, not your Green or Blue Partick Thistle Football Club, for me will do! There are things in my life that fill all my days But when Saturday comes, I think of yesterdays. I was young, I was red, I was yellow, I was black. Those were wonderful days; I’d like to see them back Chorus If I cannot be with you when you’re home or away Well my heart’s in the crowd when Partick Thistle play And I listen hard and I watch for news Yes I’ll stay a Jags supporter, should we win or lose. Chorus ( & repeat to finish!) Copyright Hugh L Cooper January 2008
  10. 3 from the old forum Synex - Wellington Arfur - Auckland AucklandJag - aye right!
  11. Registered Nomads continue to receive periodic News-Mails on topics of interest to them - so we do have a big distribution list and knowledge of where they are (or maybe were) Only when their e-mails bounce would we wonder about their whereabouts / state of health. Steelie_toes Ailsa carried the Flag for a good while as Secretary and /I know she is looking for a successor. There ought to be well over 170 Nomads if we're all still around and kicking. Our objectives as a Supporter's Club are written on the Official Site. Checkout there how you can join us. Our efforts to support the Club from afar are pretty good given we rarely get the stimulus of a pint or six in a Thistle Bar every second weekend. We await a new dawn when the engagement we have sought reaps some reward.
  12. Some Nomads have been known to have fallen off ladders while listening to match commentary (my screaming) during Nomad Show Broadcasts. Either that or the shock of us scoring was sufficient. Only the very brave will sit at their PC screens and see the visual antics as well - though from the Chat box banter these Thistle mad fans will tolerate real pain with all the behaviours that make going to Firhill fun
  13. I'm working in Livingston Ailsa .... Anytime you're in the vicinity, PM me
