  1. Feeling really down after that. For some reason had a bit of optimism for the season with it feeling like potentially a bit of a refresh, the hope of winning most games and winning a league.

However the three league games have really knocked that. I don't like the way we are playing, there appears a real lack of any identity and style with this team which is just a follow on last few years.

Not going to call for McCall to go but if it doesn't improve soon then hard to see how we can continue.

FYI if you have a season ticket make sure and use the  the following url: https://www.ptfcpass.co.uk to log in which does not contain "PPV" as part of the address.

I had used the following link: https://ppv.ptfcpass.co.uk/login which will not accept my username and password.

    Problem solved thanks!

They should really make this obvious on the page somewhat because they are absolutely identical

I'm confident I've got the username and password correct from the instructions on the website and what's been said here so I don't know if there is an issue or if I just can't log in now as the stream isn't live yet

Any other season ticket holders currently able to login ?

    Just came to ask this

I was able to login on Thursday and my phone has even saved my user name/password which I used successfully but on trying this morning I am getting the error

  4. Not getting the Bannigan hate. Of the starting midfielders he was the only one who showed for the ball. My concern is more how ineffective Gordon and Palmer were, yet to really see either of them really offer us.

Cole looked like a proper football when he came on, his range and weight of passing looks well above our level

Banzo had 2 or 3 brilliant passes to Zanatta yesterday

Nobody else can actually pass the ball.

God knows what’s happened but Caldwell needs to go back to these 2 ‘cap in hand’,get them playing better and explaining why he had a go at then.

This is exactly what I was getting at yesterday. Bannigan is the only fit midfielder we have with any sort of vision and passjng ability.

I thought we saw the best performance by Bannigan this year (until his silly red card) and a lot of that was down to having Zanatta take up good positions.

If that is the last we see of Bannigan (and O'Ware) it would be disgraceful from a footballing as well as sentimental point of view

For me banzo has sadly regressed completely understandable since his injury but has been a liability this season and probably not cheap.

gutthed if oware is leaving for me he is born leader.

worried at first about Penrice rumour but heard player says it’s a load of rubbish

Getting away from the fact that Caldwell is clearly unable to get on well with people and, if this is true further reinforces why he shouldn't be managing us, I really need to pick you up on this

Can you explain how Bannigan has been a liability apart from his red card? He wasn't great first half at Alloa but apart from that has been comfortably our best midfielder this year. I shudder to think what we would be like in the middle if it wasn't for him

O'Ware meanwhile has played about 10 games or so for the club, never excelled when playint and yet you refer to him as a born leader and appear to care more about him being forced out than a guy who has given his career to the club.

Caldwell has fallen out with a lot of players since joining the club, to me it's pretty clear the problem is him

  7. Both red cards for me but neither malicious as such.

The lack of changes after going to 9 was unbelievable management.

Also not getting the Bannigan hate I've read everywhere. He was comfortably the best midfielder on the park today until, well he wasn't on the park. The only one of the three today who has any passing and positional  ability.

I'm stating we're guilty of not creating enough chances. You're indicating the opposite. The only way we'd be both correct is by adding the word quality. I didn't really get past the four shots at East End Pk before I noticed a flaw in those stats.

I suppose if you include as shots Storey's blasts into orbit and Slater's efforts, which are the strength of a miss hit pass back, then maybe we'd be nearing the 77 mark.  In reality when we're in attack mode the play is too often ended by either the wrong decision or the fella on the ball running out of options.

This is the actual point of xG it tracks the effective quality of the chance

Does the Club receive the parachute payment after 31st May?

Did they not change it recently to be paid in chunks through the season to help with cashflow for clubs?

I may be dreaming this of course

  10. I think the budget has actually been very generous this season

We will have a budget that is certainly in the top 3 in the league and have a squad of players many of whom would be regulars in the Premiership, including ones we signed this summer.

We also have a large number of players on 1 year only contracts; I really worry where we will be in May if we fail to win promotion, having to do a similarly sized rebuild job but with a significantly reduced budget.

I think the time to act was post-Livi (well actually well before).

  11. It was a training exercise for Celtic. We were reasonably competitive in the first half without coming close to a chance and they obviously had many gears to increase through. Second half was a complete non event. I’m struggling to think of this off target shot on goal let alone Gordon having to do anything except collect a couple of corners

Also Gary Fraser should be utterly ashamed of himself tonight. Say what you like about Old Firm fans but smashing a ball full force into a stand full of families from close range is completely inexcusable and very dangerous.

  12. Horrible performance made worse by the amount ‘F****n’ shouts being made towards Lennon and Stokes in the North Stand

Really unpleasant day (and season thus far) all round

Cannot see any light at end of this tunnel. We are worst in the league on practically every stat going and now find ourselves detached

  13. Surprised there hasn’t been any discussion on here as the Elite academies have been announced for Project Brave

Does anyone know what the clubs/Thistle Weirs thoughts are regarding this? I’m sure we will have applied but failed to make some criterio

My immediate fear is this puts the academy at a huge disadvantage to the four Glasgow/Lanarkshire clubs who have been successful in terms of player recruitment; why would you not send your kid to Motherwell over us now?

  14. Both Booth and Osman looked far more composed tonight. Nisbet wasn't as isolated and interchanged well with Lawless and in particular, Erskine. Edwards energy helped greatly and scored an absolute cracker. Team in general were good bit more positive.

Sadly it's got to be said we indulged in some blatant time wasting tonight, coupled with more than just sporadic episodes of gamesmanship. If I had the slightest inkling we were going to disgrace ourselves in such a flagrant way I'd have done a 360° at the Broxden Roundabout and pissed off home to watch the athletics.

You'd be going in the same direction after he 360 :)

  15. Don't think the majority of players in England have ever known much about Scottish players outwith the ugly sisters. How many Scottish games are/have ever been shown in England

Just the last 20 or so years of games on Sky/BT/Setanta

Could we sit our midfielders down with the last but one promotion winning video and ask them to ponder and replicate the running and finishing of Danny Lennon, Derek Fleming and Martin Hardie? A lower standard granted, but they must have nabbed approx 30 goals between them, Even half of that would be a huge upgrade on the current midfield scoring statistics.

Why not our last promotion season when Lawless and Erskine scored more than those three combined?

  17. I think you all need to have a lie down. St Johnstone are a wonderfully efficient and successful club that have a style of football that works wonders for them and has done for a number of years now. It's up to us to be able to beat them which we have done successfully on a number of occasions in recent seasons.

Why we think we are exponents of exciting fast football confuses me. The year we won the league and first year in the Premiership yes but since then we haven't been a particularly exciting team to watch. Just as an example last year the seemingly negative St Johnstone scored 17 more goals than us whilst conceding 5 more and this year they have scored 5 more.

I would say if anything we are currently a less good version of St Johnstone.

  18. Wonderful, wonderful news. Probably been Archie's best signing and gives us a great base to build on.

He's not the technically most gifted of players in terms of passing or advancing with the ball but his strength and positioning in the middle makes him such a presence in our team. I think most teams in the league would take Osman in their squad.
