  1. A European place sounds dandy but not until regional draws are put in place. Our clubs really can,t afford to travel to places such as Kazakhstan and Azerbijan and its not fair on fans either. How these places are considered Europe beggars belief.

County did regularly spend a lot of time in the top six this season so I don,t really grudge them winning a place.

  2. Not wanting to create any division between the fans, and I appreciate that I am a hypocrit but I do have to agree with this.

The atmosphere created by the North Stand has been relatively poor these last two seasons, particularly this one. Not sure what it can be put down to but there is a definite decrease in frequency and volume of songs coming out. Attendences are down across the ground and I guess the sense that as we are now 3 seasons into the top league and subsequently the novelty has worn off and we haven't had anything particular to get excited about has taken hold? The first year staying up felt a huge achievement but less so last year and this although objectively speaking it remains a great achievement for our club(in terms of our budget).

Interested if there are any North Stand regulars around to comment on their thoughts on this.

  3. I think overall he may be my favourite ever Jags player.

Plucked from relative obscurity but has grown into probably the most underrated striker in the Premiership. His touch, first few yards of movement and finishing on the whole are superb.

His attitude is so refreshing in this day and age, he has taken on challenges by so many strikers in his time with us and quite often played second fiddle to them at times but has never looked to complain or moan about this. He takes his chance and near enough every time reminds us just how good he is.

I had the pleasure of being in his company for a few hours last season and a more humble, polite and appreciative footballer you will struggle to find. He loves our club, probably more than any player in my time following Thistle (maybe Lennon?). He may not theatrically kiss the badge or dramatically applaud the crowd after all games but his understated appreciation will be known to all who have spoken to him.

I would love him to stay until a testimonial and continue to climb the all time scorers table.

  4. I felt sorry for the trialist. Two bad errors. He looked good on the ball early on. A sad figure as he trudged off.

Apart from the errors how did he look? Long way to come for a trial, unless he was just well below standard, I'd hope we would give him a week or so and another development game to let him settle

  5.

I was desperate for us to sign him back then.

I remember McCall trying really hard to get him to come. Great player and suspect he will end up back in Scotland before he hangs up his boots

  6. I'm looking forward to it.

Our board is more experienced with a new member.

Our manager and assistant are club legends who try to play an attractive brand of football and are gaining experience.

The youth system is getting better with Scott MacKenzie, Scott Allison, Gerry Britton etc all making the right sounds.

We don't need to replace Balatoni as Lindsay and Leyden have broken through. Welsh looks to be back to full fitness. We have Booth, Amoo and Miller settled. Lawless is going to have a storming season and you know Archie will have bring a surprise late transfer like the past.

I do agree with all of this except the attractive brand of football part. We unquestionably were the seasom we got promoted and the first half of our first season in this division but to me the aesthetic quality of our football has dropped a lot in the last 18 months.

We may well be a better football team due to this however...

  7. Lindau misunderstands the point being made - fancy that.

I'm not in the habit of arguing with weins but I'll clarify just for your benefit, seeing as you are having trouble understanding things as usual.

My point is, why allude to a signing and then stop short of naming the player? You are ultimately adding nothing but a string of follow up posts from other folk trying to guess who the player is.

If you have inside info that you don't want to divulge - then why say anything at all? In doing so, you are partly betraying the confidence of the person that told you anyway and could actually jeopardise the deal that's being done.

Of course, post rumours, that is what a forum is for, but at least name the player involved, otherwise what's the point?

    100% agreed

  8. Ian Mac had a dig at me for starting another Lyle Taylor thread when he signed for Wimbledon. His comment above is obviously another dig. Pretty sure that's what forums are for! Really don't give a monkey's. He never says anything positive. Hope he goes to see Gary Little after the game on Saturday, might even put a smile on his face...lol

    If you say so...
