  1. How about we contact the Chinese and get a few hundred terracotta army statues, dress them up in Thistle strips and scarves with chants recorded from the North End being played. No ? Too costly. Well downsize it a bit with lots of red and yellow bedecked garden gnomes. We could each donate our own.

What a bizarre idea! I really like it. Could become a great feature with interest from the media, particularly during televised games.

Brilliant idea and get it sponsored by Dobbies.

Why not? A sponsored 'paint your own' competition for the weans.

They'd get smashed to bits by all the wayward shots that seem to end up on the bing.

Have a gnome placing ceremony at the start of the season. Place your gnome where you think it might get hit and get a crappy printed certificate or carnage photo from Tommy or something, if it is.

Or a last gnome standing competition through the season.

Brilliant. I'm off to get one now...

  2. Hope we don't end up playing ICT/Ross County/St. Johnstone at home for the 1st game of the season, no away support at all. A home game against Killie/St.Mirren/Dundee Utd/Aberdeen/Celtic would be an excellent way to start the season, should be a smashing atmosphere.

Certainly wont be Celtic as they will have their own flag day that weekend.

  3. Sorry to hear this TM.

Unfortunately the internet is the perfect hiding place for mindless idiots, anonymously venting the frustration they feel about their inability to interact with decent people in the real world.

Your banter on here has been enjoyable. Your magnanimous congratulatory post last week showed great character. I welcome your input anytime.

Hope this stops now. I'm sure I speak for all but one on this forum.

  4. My mate got some freebies from Dumbarton, I'll get some with his book as well. Still think it is a poor show. What chance do you get to sit with friends?

A lot of folk in hospitality, and what is script with u16s free season books. I guess they can get two as well?

Will probably end up with 1,700 crowd with Thistle fans stuck at home.

On the brightside shouldn't be an issue next season :D

I think it is probably wise to let a 4 year old take a parent along.

  5. I always feel that once that first Jags top is worn more than half the battle is won. The converse is of course true and it's many times more difficult to convert a kid to the Jags when they've already been bought an ugly sister top.

I realise we can't be handing out expensive replica tops to kids but if there was some way of getting Jags T shirts ideally also advertising the Kids Go Free at a relatively cheap cost then it could result in a long term gain in fanbase. I don't however know how you get round our kit sponsors or if they could produce and sell on T shirts at a relatively low cost.

Maybe requires a Jaggy minded third party getting involved.

I think this is a great idea. I really can't afford to buy my boys replica tops especially as, at 4 & 6, they outgrow clothes alarmingly. A cheap(er) t shirt in club colours representing the Jags, MacB and Kids Go Free would, I imagine, be a winner with the younger kids and their parents.

  6. Yesterday I was in a charity shop with my 4 year old son. He was sitting on the floor, looking through a book and singing a wee song to himself. When I got close to him I heard him singing 'We're Partick Thistle, we score when we want'.

This morning I was watching kids tv with the boys. On Newsround there was a report about Man Utd winning English title. My 6 year old said 'Why don't they talk about Partick Thistle?'.

Kids Go Free is a wonderful initiative which will have significant long term benefit for the club. Fathers I speak to, who support other clubs, are really impressed that my boys have free season tickets and will, hopefully, continue to do so for the next 10 years. While some clubs are looking to get paying punters through the door next week, we are thinking ahead a decade. Partick Thistle and the sponsors who support this scheme deserve great credit.

  7. How does that work if you have 2 season tickets and want 3 under 16 tickets - usually I just collect the u16 tickets at the kiosk, but what if, on saturday there are no tickets left (not likely, but potentially could happen...)

Can I get u16 tickets through the week without purchasing any further adult tickets ??

Get under 16 season tickets. Simple.

  8. It is a bit unfair to compare Dunfermline's and our vs those SPL matches where there was nothing at stake

Agreed. But I thought that the SPL split was supposed to mean no meaningless games. Ridiculous idea.
